Chapter 04: The Vast Sea Tidal Technique

The Flowing Cloud Sect is located in the Cloudy Mist Mountains, dozens of miles outside of Luoyun City, where many pavilions and buildings are built along the mountainside. Due to the Cloudy Mist Mountains being shrouded in mist for most of the year, the Flowing Cloud Sect was named accordingly.

Although the Flowing Cloud Sect is just an ordinary sect within a hundred miles of Luoyun City, it has a history of several hundred years and possesses a library with martial techniques and cultivation methods far surpassing those of other sects.

However, due to the limited strength of the Flowing Cloud Sect, most of the martial techniques and cultivation methods in the library are of the lower Human Rank, with only a fraction being of the middle Human Rank, and even more are ordinary methods that do not even reach the ranked stage.

Since its founding, the Flowing Cloud Sect has had a rule that when disciples first join the sect, they can choose one lower Human Rank cultivation method to practice. However, to choose a second method, they must first break through to the Second Level of the Blood Fusion Realm, and so on.

In other words, to obtain more cultivation methods and martial techniques, one must continuously improve their cultivation. This rule was established by the successive sect leaders to prevent disciples from being greedy and choosing too many methods without mastering any of them.

Previously, when Shen Chen entered the Flowing Cloud Sect, he had the opportunity to choose a cultivation method, and he selected the Tiger Roar Fist, which he had just perfected. Now, having broken through to the Second Level of the Blood Fusion Realm, Shen Chen has the chance to choose another method. With better and more advanced methods, Shen Chen can enhance his strength more quickly, so he hurriedly descended the mountain and headed towards the library.

The library is located in the deepest part of the Flowing Cloud Sect, built into the mountain. From a distance, it looks like the gaping mouth of an ancient beast, both fierce and mysterious.

As the most important place for the sect's inheritance, the library is patrolled daily by a team of enforcers from the Flowing Cloud Sect, all of whom are at least at the Seventh Level of the Blood Fusion Realm. At the entrance, there is always an elder, whose strength reaches the Tenth or even Eleventh Level of the Blood Fusion Realm, stationed to guard it.

This shows how much the Flowing Cloud Sect values the library!

Before Shen Chen even approached the library, at least three groups of people had already come to inquire about his identity and check his identification badge.

Upon entering the library, a tall, muscular old man with a stern appearance and a face full of scars, exuding an aura of endless slaughter, was staring intently at Shen Chen.

This old man is one of the five elders of the Flowing Cloud Sect, Chen Fanghao, who is at the Eleventh Level of the Blood Fusion Realm and is known as the Bloodthirsty Mad Lion!

"Disciple Shen Chen, I greet Elder Chen!" Shen Chen hurriedly bowed.

"The library is a sacred place, no idle people allowed! Don't you know that? What brings you to the library?" Chen Fanghao said coldly.

"Disciple has recently broken through to the Second Level of the Blood Fusion Realm, so I wish to choose a new cultivation method. I hope Elder Chen will grant me this favor." Knowing the Bloodthirsty Mad Lion's notorious temper, Shen Chen pretended to be respectful to avoid trouble.

"Hmm? You've broken through to the Second Level of the Blood Fusion Realm? Let me see your blood qi!" Chen Fanghao looked at Shen Chen with suspicion and said coldly.

Chen Fanghao could clearly sense the state of Shen Chen's blood qi, which had not yet reached the Second Level of the Blood Fusion Realm, so his expression turned grim.

With no choice, Shen Chen had to activate his blood qi, making it flow through the two meridians he had already opened. Soon, a faint green, blurry line of light appeared on Shen Chen's arm and head!

This is the blood qi light produced by the flow of blood qi through the opened meridians, commonly known as blood light!

"Hmm? You opened the acupoint in your head at the First Level of the Blood Fusion Realm? However, the purity of your blood qi is far from that of an ordinary Second Level Blood Fusion Realm practitioner, and your strength is much weaker... Tsk tsk... Are you a genius or a waste of talent?" The Bloodthirsty Mad Lion Chen Fanghao muttered to himself, his eyes filled with pity as he looked at Shen Chen.

"Alright! You can go in. However, I must remind you that although you are now considered to have broken through to the Second Level of the Blood Fusion Realm, you can only choose a method from the first floor of the library. And it's best not to choose a too dominant method..." The Bloodthirsty Mad Lion Chen Fanghao said indifferently, then closed his eyes to rest, no longer paying any attention to Shen Chen.

Shen Chen glanced at Chen Fanghao, knowing that he had seen through his abnormality and did not take him seriously. However, Shen Chen was not discouraged and confidently walked into the library.

Accidentally opening the acupoint in his head had dramatically improved Shen Chen's comprehension. Although his strength was currently much weaker than that of other Second Level Blood Fusion Realm practitioners, with time, his cultivation speed and strength would far surpass everyone else!

Walking through the library's entrance, he saw rows of massive bookshelves on both sides, neatly lined with hundreds of bound books, which were the martial techniques and cultivation methods accumulated by the Flowing Cloud Sect over several hundred years.

"Sigh! If it weren't for that incident, I wouldn't dare to say much, but at least we could have some Earth Rank methods. Now, I can only practice some trashy lower Human Rank methods..." Shen Chen sighed, feeling somewhat unwilling as he picked up a few methods and flipped through them absentmindedly.

Tiger Roar Fist, Wild Ox Fist, Great Strength Vajra Fist...

There was even the middle Human Rank method, Mystic Eagle Sky Splitting Claw, which Liu Yong had demonstrated!

However, with Shen Chen's current, seemingly false, Second Level Blood Fusion Realm strength, even if he practiced the Mystic Eagle Sky Splitting Claw, he could not unleash even a fraction of its power. Therefore, Shen Chen only glanced at it and gave up.

"The Vast Sea Tidal Technique? Lower Human Rank? Too weak..." Shen Chen picked up another method, muttered to himself, and was about to give up.

At this moment, a small ripple stirred in Shen Chen's mind, a memory fragment that did not belong to him. In the memory, a white-robed youth, by using the Vast Sea Tidal Technique, actually forced a black-robed elder, who was clearly much stronger, to die helplessly!

"What's going on? Where did this memory come from? ... Right, that mysterious mirror once infused a pure energy into my mind. This memory must be from that old man! If that's the case, the Vast Sea Tidal Technique must be a very good method..." Shen Chen's eyes lit up.

The old man sealed by the mysterious mirror was terrifyingly powerful and had a high status. Even Shen Chen, from a fairly strong family, could only submit helplessly to him. Otherwise, why would Shen Chen end up in such a dire situation, hiding in a low-level sect like the Flowing Cloud Sect?

And a method that caught the old man's attention and was recorded in his mind could not possibly be an ordinary method.

"I'll choose this one!" Shen Chen smiled, nodded resolutely, picked up the Vast Sea Tidal Technique, and walked out of the library.

"Have you chosen your method?" Outside the library, the Bloodthirsty Mad Lion Chen Fanghao asked indifferently.

"Disciple has chosen! It's this one, the Vast Sea Tidal Technique." Shen Chen replied respectfully.

"Oh... Alright, you can go! Remember, you must return the Vast Sea Tidal Technique in ten days and must not pass it on to others." Chen Fanghao said indifferently, not even bothering to look at Shen Chen again as he closed his eyes to rest.

The Vast Sea Tidal Technique is a lower Human Rank method, created by a talented martial artist in a previous life who observed the ebb and flow of the sea.

The original intention of this method was for defense, and in terms of offensive power, it is even slightly inferior to the Tiger Roar Fist, making it a truly mediocre method.

Therefore, very few people choose to practice the Vast Sea Tidal Technique.

In Chen Fanghao's view, Shen Chen was already a false Second Level Blood Fusion Realm practitioner, and now, by choosing a mediocre method like the Vast Sea Tidal Technique, it was almost certain that Shen Chen would have no future and might not even break through to the Third Level of the Blood Fusion Realm.

Such a disciple is the lowest in the Flowing Cloud Sect, and Chen Fanghao would not even bother to pay attention to him.

Shen Chen was not bothered by this, took the Vast Sea Tidal Technique, and turned to walk out of the library, heading towards his small house.
