"Here we are!"
Another station had been reached, and the group arriving at Buque City burst into cheers, standing up one after another, drawing envious glances from passengers bound for other destinations. After experiencing a perilous journey, everyone wanted to reach their destination as soon as possible, fearing any further mishaps along the way.
The destitute man remained quiet. Julie hesitated for a moment before finally reaching out and gently tapping his shoulder to remind him, "We've arrived at Buque City."
The destitute man opened his eyes and nodded slightly, indicating that he understood.
What a mute! Julie muttered to herself, and as she turned around, she met Luo Kang'an.
Luo Kang'an looked a bit awkward and quickly turned to leave first.
The massive body of Kun slowly docked in front of the cliff at Nanshan, opening its large mouth to allow the people inside to exit.
As Julie walked toward the exit, she looked back and noticed that the destitute man was still leaning against the wall, unmoving, seemingly indifferent to everything. It wasn't until everyone else in the area had stood up and left that he finally rose, slowly following behind the crowd.
What a strange person! Julie thought to herself as she turned and walked toward the exit.
People waiting on the cliff eagerly looked forward, waving to those they were there to greet.
Luo Kang'an was the first to jump out of Kun's giant mouth. Bai Linglong, who was waiting at the exit, immediately stepped forward and smiled, "Mr. Luo, it's good to see you again."
"Bai Assistant," Luo Kang'an laughed heartily. They knew each other, and Bai Linglong had personally visited Xiandu to meet with him.
Bai Linglong's smile remained unchanged, but her gaze lingered on Luo Kang'an's face for a moment. Whether it was her imagination or not, it seemed as if there was a shoe print on his face. Regaining her composure, she quickly extended her hand, "Mr. Luo, the President has come to greet you. Please follow me."
"Sure," Luo Kang'an, with a full smile, immediately followed her.
Heng Tao, standing at the exit, also waved. As Julie stepped onto the cliff, she immediately walked over to him with a smile. After a brief greeting, Heng Tao led her to Luo Tianhe.
Those who were greeted on the spot hugged and laughed, or clapped each other on the back in joy.
After everyone from Buque City had disembarked, Kun closed its large mouth, turned, and quickly flew off to continue its journey to the next station.
Qin Yi felt a bit uncomfortable during her meeting with Luo Kang'an, as she felt his gaze often lingered on places it shouldn't. Perhaps her attire today was indeed a bit too revealing.
Initially, she had planned to return with Luo Kang'an in the same car, but his restless eyes changed her mind, and she had him arranged to be in another vehicle.
Before getting into the car, Qin Yi's gaze lingered on Luo Tianhe's side, trying to remember what the guest he was greeting looked like.
Luo Tianhe had already made it clear that the person coming was to form and take charge of the media industry in Buque City.
The old man, with his conservative mindset, had finally come to his senses. As a businesswoman, the Qin Family Association would inevitably have to deal with Miss Julie in the future. Remembering and recognizing her would be necessary, and she would also need to find an opportunity to invite and get to know her.
She saw Julie, who was chatting and laughing with Luo Tianhe. She was a woman with a vibrant aura, quite attractive, and wearing the popular jeans of the day.
It was hard to believe that such a woman had dared to sneak close and take photos under the nose of the Thirteen Demon Kings.
Luo Tianhe turned and got into the car. As Julie followed, she suddenly looked back, her gaze searching around, as if looking for something. She finally locked onto her target.
Only then did she realize that the destitute man was actually a cripple, limping toward a small motorcycle parked at the edge of the crowd, a small, donkey-like motorcycle.
On the small motorcycle sat a middle-aged man with a smile, his long hair casually tied back.
The destitute man approached, and for the first time, a smile appeared on his usually calm face, "Uncle Chen."
The middle-aged man waved his hand back, "Get in, we'll talk when we get back."
The destitute man lifted his lame leg and climbed onto the motorcycle. Before he could sit down properly, the middle-aged man had already sped off like a gust of wind.
The small two-wheeled vehicle, carrying two large men, looked as if it was struggling under the weight.
The destitute man, who had swayed slightly, held onto Uncle Chen's shoulders with both hands. On one wrist, a black, wide bracelet with an ancient design was visible, featuring a ship's anchor carved into the cloud patterns, resembling an arrowhead.
After watching them go, Julie bent down and got into the car. Luo Tianhe, who had already entered, smiled, "What were you looking at?"
Julie shook her head and smiled, "Nothing, I haven't been back for many years, so I took a second look."
But she still felt something was off. Her professional instincts told her that there was something strange about that man.
Qin Yi, following Julie's gaze, didn't see the destitute man's face. By the time she looked, it was too late, and she only saw a leather coat back, slightly turned. However, she recognized "Uncle Chen," not only recognizing him but also being very familiar with him.
Because of her familiarity with Uncle Chen, the leather coat back made her stare for a long time, unable to regain her composure.
With her red lips, the wind blowing her scarf, and her wavy long hair, her eyes, which had been fixed on the gradually disappearing back, were deeply moved.
Her assistant, Bai Linglong, not knowing what she was looking at, also turned to look back. She saw Uncle Chen and casually said, "Uncle Chen from the First-Class Hall..." Her words suddenly caught in her throat as she also saw the leather coat back, and a long-forgotten name flashed through her mind.
She muttered to herself, "He's back!"
She slowly turned to look at Qin Yi, unsure of what to say.
Because she had grown up with Qin Yi, she was familiar with many of her affairs.
She wanted to ask that person, since he had been away for so many years, why he had returned, and how could one bear the memories of the past?
Seeing Qin Yi's prolonged state of distraction, Bai Linglong had to remind her, "President, Mr. Luo is still waiting in the car."
Qin Yi's gaze returned, and she said, "Let's go," before sitting in the car.
After the car started, she leaned against the window and lit a cigarette, her red lips gently holding the cigarette holder, the smoke curling up, and her gaze through the window filled with confusion.
Bai Linglong, sitting in the front passenger seat, occasionally looked back at her...
The First-Class Hall, a medical hall in Buque City, was run by Uncle Chen, whose real name was Zhang Liechen.
The medical hall was closed today because the owner had business to attend to.
The small motorcycle carried the two men directly into the side door of the medical hall and stopped in the courtyard.
The destitute man, stepping out of the car, looked around the courtyard, "Buque City hasn't changed much, and neither has your place."
Zhang Liechen parked the small motorcycle under a eave and casually said, "I'm afraid things change, but people don't. Three hundred years have passed, Lin Yuan, have you changed much?"
Lin Yuan, the destitute man's name, replied, "Maybe I've gained some experience, but I'm not necessarily more at ease. I've come back to seek your help, hoping Uncle Chen will take me in. The pay can be negotiated."
In his early years, when he was a homeless youth in Buque City, the First-Class Hall had taken him in. After many years of working as a helper, he knew how frugal this person was.
"Good, if we don't talk about pay, it's easier to discuss," Zhang Liechen said with a chuckle.
Lin Yuan smiled bitterly and looked around, "It's so quiet, it doesn't seem like anyone else is here. Have you been alone all these years, without hiring anyone?"
Zhang Liechen waved his large sleeves and gestured, "Business is bad, how can I hire anyone?"
Lin Yuan followed him into the house and found that the layout was still the same as he remembered, but there were more items with a human touch.
In the past hundred years, the ancient style in some places had gradually faded, and a new trend had emerged, influencing the celestial realm as well.
While pouring tea, Zhang Liechen glanced at Lin Yuan's limping leg and asked, "Your leg was broken by Qin Daobian and you were driven away. Has it been untreated and left crippled all these years? The 'Lingshan' Academy in Xiandu is the top cultivation academy in the entire celestial realm; it shouldn't be unable to treat you, right?"
Lin Yuan replied, "No, it's a recent injury. The remnants of the previous dynasty ambushed Xiandu, and I couldn't avoid it, so I was affected. I came to ask you to take a look."
Zhang Liechen sipped his tea, "Was it necessary to come with an injured leg? Wouldn't the Lingshan Academy treat you as a student?"
Lin Yuan said, "My talent is limited, and I didn't do well at the academy. I didn't want to ask for help. Most of the academy was destroyed, and it's in chaos. I don't know if the remnants of the previous dynasty will cause more trouble. Everyone is anxious, and many are eager to leave. I'm afraid of death, so I came back first."
Zhang Liechen put down his teacup and led him into the examination room, gesturing for him to proceed.
Lin Yuan, very aware, took off his leather coat, then his boots, and finally his pants, exposing his bare legs.
On his lame leg, there was a long, deep gash, sealed with a large strip of transparent adhesive.
Zhang Liechen observed the wound for a while, then reached out and peeled off the transparent adhesive, tearing it off in one swift motion.
Lin Yuan winced in pain, closed his eyes, and clenched his jaw, but that was all; he didn't react further.
Zhang Liechen looked at his reaction, "Not bad, a student from the top academy in the celestial realm. You've indeed changed from before."
Lin Yuan said, "I haven't changed much."
Zhang Liechen said, "Don't be modest. If it were before, you would have been screaming over a minor injury." His gaze suddenly focused, noticing the continuous bleeding, which seemed abnormal. He dipped his finger in the blood, rubbed it between his fingers, and sniffed it, his expression becoming serious, "The bleeding won't stop. What kind of injury is this?"
Lin Yuan said, "I'm not sure. The situation was chaotic, and I was cut by someone in the confusion."
Zhang Liechen stepped back a few steps, waved his hand, and a round shield-like object flew out of his storage ring, hovering above Lin Yuan's head.
With a wave of his hand, a fan-shaped beam of light shot out from the round shield, enveloping Lin Yuan in a purple glow.
Under the light, Lin Yuan's entire body became almost transparent, his blood vessels, meridians, and bones clearly visible. Starting from the wound on his leg, golden patterns spread out, like an irregular golden spider web, expanding through his blood vessels and meridians to cover half of his body.
Clearly, these abnormal golden patterns originated from the wound and then spread.
"Seal Demon Poison!" Zhang Liechen was surprised, his expression becoming serious as he stared into Lin Yuan's eyes, "This poison is controlled by the Celestial Court and is generally prohibited except for use against demons. You were injured by someone from the Celestial Court. What did you do to deserve such treatment from the Celestial Court?"
Lin Yuan's eyes flashed with surprise, not expecting the other to identify the poison at a glance. He frowned, "So, the person who injured me in the chaos was from the Celestial Court?"
Zhang Liechen waved his hand to retract the purple light-emitting magical tool, "You should return to Xiandu and seek the Lingshan Academy for the antidote. This poison can only be cured by the poison birds raised by the Celestial Court."
Lin Yuan said, "If it's the Seal Demon Poison, do you think I can explain myself to the Celestial Court?"
"One hour, a hundred alliances! Thank you, thank you everyone for your support. Seeing the list of alliance leaders on the fan chart, they are all old friends, and a grown man was moved. One year, two years, three years, four years... everyone is still here, it's really good, may we all have a long and prosperous life!!!!!!!!!"
