Chapter 68

3 min read686 words

This book was officially uploaded on National Day, and it has been exactly one month since then. The journey so far hasn't been easy, and while the results aren't outstanding, for someone like me—an amateur, part-time writer who types slowly and lacks literary talent—having the current data for a new book in just one month is already very satisfying. I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the brothers who have liked this book and supported Xiao Bei.

Throughout October, Xiao Bei updated a total of 150,000 words. This number, of course, can't compare to those big-shot writers who update tens of thousands of words daily, but it is the result of my utmost effort.

I write books part-time, and I have a 9-to-6 job, sometimes even working until 8 or 9 PM. My writing time is very limited, so my update speed can't match that of full-time authors. I hope for your understanding in this regard.

Additionally, during the writing process, there are many contents I am not familiar with, which require thorough research. For example, when writing about buying a car, I am still a single man without a car or a house, and I know nothing about cars. I had to spend a lot of time researching to complete that part. Similarly, when writing about buying a dog, I have never had a pet, and the most familiar animal to me is a rural stray dog. Therefore, I had to repeatedly research and compare to write that part. Another example is the herbs mentioned in many chapters. Since this book is set in an urban environment, unlike fantasy or cultivation novels, many settings cannot be too unrealistic. The herbs used must follow reality to some extent. Medicine is a completely unfamiliar field for Xiao Bei, so the solution is to research.

Furthermore, to provide a better reading experience, after completing each chapter, Xiao Bei checks it at least three times to minimize typos and ensure smoother sentence flow. After each chapter is released or 24 hours have passed, I read it again to catch any errors as soon as possible.

Therefore, I can confidently say that while the quality of this book may not be the best, Xiao Bei's attitude is definitely the best.

Alright, I've said a lot of unnecessary things. Let's get to the main point. Today, I received instructions from the editor, and there might be some actions on the distribution channels this month, which requires me to stockpile chapters in advance. Therefore, in the short term, I may not be able to update more frequently. However, rest assured, if everything goes well, I will focus on a burst of updates this month, though I don't know exactly how many. This is crucial for the book's performance on the channels, so I will do my best to update. On the other hand, if the book performs well, it won't be cut by the website, which is a good thing.

For those who like this book, if you have the means, please support it financially. If not, your support in other ways is also appreciated. Whether you spend money or not, if you have the heart, please don't hesitate to give free recommendations and sign-ups. If you have reached level 2, please take a moment to rate the book; it would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, I humbly request a wave of demon fruits to help Xiao Bei leave a mark on the new book demon fruit list. If I make it to the list this month, I will burst update next month, with the number of chapters being 15 minus the ranking position. For example, if I rank 10th, I will update 5 chapters, and if I rank 9th, I will update 6 chapters, and so on.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the brothers on the contribution list for your support! Thank you to all the friends who have been following the book; you are amazing! I won't name everyone individually, but I will remember everything you have done and keep it in my heart.

Thank you.
