"Chen Dasheng, you bastard!"

In the early morning, a woman's scream pierced the sky in a residential area of Jinma, Rongcheng, China, waking up the residents and startling the sparrows perched on the banyan trees in the neighborhood.

It was a fragrant morning!

When Chen Dasheng woke up from his hangover, he was greeted by a familiar and beautiful face, and a strange fragrance filled his nostrils. The table by the door was littered with empty beer bottles, the quilt had slipped to the floor, and bras, underwear, and clothes were scattered everywhere. In his arms lay Liu Yunshi, the beautiful woman he shared the apartment with.

Her proud breasts were tightly pressed against Chen Dasheng's arm, and her body, completely naked, was presented to him in perfect detail. Chen Dasheng almost thought he was dreaming.

Just as Chen Dasheng quietly slipped out of bed, dressed, and was about to escape before Liu Yunshi woke up, she suddenly awoke and reacted violently.

Boom!

A series of chaotic footsteps followed, and Chen Dasheng almost tumbled down the stairs, holding his coat in his hand, his expression panicked, as if he had been caught in the act of adultery.

Bang!

A gust of wind above his head made Chen Dasheng look up sharply. A flower pot fell from the second floor, and he quickly dodged to the side, just in time for it to land at his feet.

"Are you trying to kill me?"

Looking up, Liu Yunshi stood on the balcony of the second floor, her beautiful eyes glaring as if she wanted to devour someone. A piece of the flower pot had cut a long gash in her right palm. Chen Dasheng roared in anger, thinking that if he had been a bit slower, he would have been seriously injured.

"Bastard, stand still! If you run, you're not a man!" Liu Yunshi's face was as dark as ink, and she pointed at Chen Dasheng, shouting at him, while holding another flower pot in her other hand.

"Am I not a man? Try throwing another one!"

Chen Dasheng was angry and decided not to run, standing his ground and confronting Liu Yunshi.

"You, just wait!"

Liu Yunshi glared at Chen Dasheng fiercely, placed the flower pot on the balcony, and then turned and disappeared.

"Wait, I'll wait! Who's afraid of who!" Chen Dasheng spat and kicked the broken flower pot hard.

Another series of hurried footsteps followed, and Liu Yunshi rushed out of the hallway, grabbing Chen Dasheng's collar before he could react.

"What are you doing?" Seeing Liu Yunshi's fierce gaze, Chen Dasheng felt a bit intimidated.

Liu Yunshi gritted her teeth and demanded, "Chen Dasheng, what did you do to me last night?"

"You, let go first, okay? So many people are watching!" Many eyes were staring from the residential building, and many aunties were peering out of their windows, making Chen Dasheng feel very uncomfortable and nervous.

He tried to pull Liu Yunshi's hand off, but failed, and his face turned grim. "Sister, I'm innocent. We were both drunk last night, right?"

"Drunk? You have such a good tolerance for alcohol. I think you were pretending to be drunk and took advantage of me. You heartless beast, tell me what you did to me last night!" Liu Yunshi clung to Chen Dasheng's clothes, refusing to let go.

Chen Dasheng said urgently, "Who do you think I am? Don't you know me? Besides, can't you feel if I did anything?"

"I, I..." Liu Yunshi was suddenly very agitated, her words even stuttering. "I was drunk, how could I feel anything?"

Chen Dasheng rolled his eyes and solemnly raised his hand. "I swear, I was really drunk last night. I don't know how I ended up in your bed, but I promise I didn't touch you!"

"I don't believe you!" Liu Yunshi wouldn't believe him. If they had both been undressed, how could nothing have happened? They say alcohol lowers inhibitions, and facing such a beautiful woman, could Chen Dasheng have resisted?

Chen Dasheng said directly, "I don't care if you believe me or not. I believe it. When I woke up this morning, I was still hard. If you don't believe me, go home and check."

"You..." Liu Yunshi's face turned red, and she couldn't say anything.

"What are you saying? Let go!"

"I won't let go!"

"Will you let go?"

"I won't let go. If you have the guts, hit me. There are so many people watching!" Liu Yunshi clung to Chen Dasheng, her expression like someone who had caught a pervert on a bus. Laughter could be heard from the building.

"Sister, how dare I hit you? Why don't we go back and review last night's events again?" Seeing Liu Yunshi's persistence, Chen Dasheng decided to act silly and put his arm around her waist.

Liu Yunshi's face changed dramatically, and she screamed in fright, letting go of Chen Dasheng as if she had stepped on a cockroach and jumping back a few steps.

Chen Dasheng wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. If he had known this trick would work so easily, he would have used it earlier. Now that he was free, he quickly turned and ran. He didn't want to be a laughingstock in front of his neighbors, who he would see every day.

By the time Liu Yunshi realized what was happening, Chen Dasheng had already reached the entrance of the neighborhood. She stomped her foot and shouted, "Chen Dasheng, you bastard! You dare to do it but not admit it! You deserve to be dumped by your girlfriend! Get out, and don't come back!"

Her sharp voice echoed in the neighborhood for a long time. Chen Dasheng's figure had already disappeared, and only then did she notice that many people were watching from the buildings. Her face changed rapidly, and she quickly covered it and ran into the hallway.

Liu Yunshi was extremely angry today. She and Chen Dasheng were both students at Rongcheng University of Technology, but she was a year older, in her senior year, while Chen Dasheng was in his junior year.

By chance, they had become roommates. Chen Dasheng was not particularly handsome, though he had a good build and was not short at 1.76 meters. However, he had an honest appearance. Liu Yunshi, a beautiful woman, had agreed to live with Chen Dasheng mainly because he seemed honest. In fact, Chen Dasheng was indeed honest, and in the six months they had lived together, he had not crossed any boundaries.

A few days ago, Chen Dasheng had been dumped by his girlfriend, and he was very depressed. Liu Yunshi, unable to bear it, had comforted him and had a big drink with him last night, but she never expected him to end up in her bed!

---

Under the lecherous gaze of the security guard, Chen Dasheng fled the neighborhood, looking at the traffic on the street, unsure where to go.

Liu Yunshi's last words had deeply hurt him. A week ago, his girlfriend of five years had broken up with him, giving the reason, "I'll have a hard life with you."

Five years, from high school, Chen Dasheng had invested five years of his life, and it had ended with such a simple sentence. Chen Dasheng was hurt not only emotionally but also in his pride!

"Women? Are they all like this?" Chen Dasheng straightened his clothes. In the end, it all came down to one thing: he was just a poor guy. Without money, who would stay with him?

"Damn it, it's just a woman. When I get rich, I'll use money to bury you!" After thinking for a moment, Chen Dasheng clenched his teeth and walked to the bus stop, getting on the No. 101 bus.

---

The No. 101 bus headed to Wenshu Temple.

Wenshu Temple was a major tourist attraction in Rongcheng. Chen Dasheng was not going there to become a monk but to visit his sister.

Chen Dasheng was 21 years old, and his sister, Chen Xiaoli, was 29, the only family he had left.

Although they lived in the same city, Chen Dasheng rarely visited his sister, mainly because she was unconventional.

At almost 30, Chen Xiaoli was still unmarried and had no suitors, because she had a special profession: a fortune-teller.

In simple terms, she practiced feudal superstition and deception. Both Chen Dasheng and his sister were from the countryside. Chen Dasheng's mother had died of illness shortly after his birth, and when he was five, his father died in a construction accident, plunging their lives into darkness.

Chen Xiaoli had learned deception from a blind fortune-teller in the village and had taken Chen Dasheng under her wing, living a life of deception. She had worked hard to raise Chen Dasheng until he went to university. Then, she moved to Rongcheng and rented a courtyard near Wenshu Temple, opening a shop called "Sisters' Workshop" and continuing her superstitious practices with a group of young women.

Chen Dasheng had some resistance to his sister's profession. Although Chen Xiaoli had worked hard to raise him, the education he had received told him that her money was not earned through proper means. Every time he used it, he felt guilty.

On the bus, Chen Dasheng's mind was in turmoil. Wenshu Temple was not far from Rongcheng University of Technology, but in the three years he had been in Rongcheng, he had visited the "Sisters' Workshop" only a few times.

"Sigh, I wonder how she is doing!"

Although he had some resistance to his sister's profession, Chen Dasheng knew he had no right to look down on her. Chen Xiaoli sent him money every month, and he had never worried about money. Without his sister, he would have died over a decade ago and would not be alive today.

"The Wenshu Temple stop..."

The bus stopped at the station, and Chen Dasheng, lost in thought, got off. When he had nowhere to go, he naturally thought of his closest family member first.
