"Didn't I tell you to start eating without waiting? Don't do that in the future," Su Zhe said as he sat down at his seat.
An Xin handed him a bowl and chopsticks. Seeing Su Zhe come out, Baby started eating, mumbling, "Big brother is working to earn money, so of course Baby will wait for Big brother to eat together. Big brother, this shredded meat is really delicious, you should try it."
Su Zhe caught the shredded meat Baby passed over. Indeed, it was as delicious as Baby said, with a perfect combination of color, aroma, and taste.
An Xin had prepared two dishes and one soup: tomato and egg stir-fry, green pepper and shredded meat, and a light lean meat and tofu soup. An Xin's cooking skills were excellent, making both Baby and Su Zhe enjoy their meal heartily, eating to their heart's content.
After the meal, Baby continued to play with the sulcata tortoise, while An Xin stayed to clean up the dishes. Su Zhe returned to his room to continue monitoring the auction website.
Thanks to the recommendation ads on the auction website, the blue-and-purple macaws successfully attracted the attention of many users. Many users clicked to view and left numerous comments.
Su Zhe auctioned the two blue-and-purple macaws together, setting the starting bid at 5 million. Each bid still had to be at least 10,000. The auction end time was still at 8 PM, the same as yesterday's golden-headed box turtle auction. Several buyers had already been attracted by the blue-and-purple macaws, with the highest bid currently at 5.5 million.
Every auction always had some bored people causing trouble, claiming that Su Zhe's videos were fake, that blue-and-purple macaws couldn't be that smart, and that the sounds in the videos were clearly dubbed.
These bored people always thought they were the only ones who were awake in a world of sleepers, believing their words were the truth and feeling very self-satisfied. They thought anything they hadn't seen was fake. When asked for evidence, they either mumbled some nonsense or said, "Believe it if you want, or get lost. I'm just kindly reminding you," with a self-righteous air.
The arguments gradually became more heated, with each side rallying their friends, making it even more lively. This attracted even more attention, indirectly promoting Su Zhe's auction.
"Boss, I want to go out for a bit. Is that okay?" While Su Zhe was focused on the computer, An Xin knocked to get his attention and softly asked.
"Don't call me boss in the future. Just call me Su Zhe. You can go out if you want, but will you come back tonight?" Su Zhe looked up and asked.
"I'll come back to prepare dinner tonight," An Xin replied.
Su Zhe waved his hand to indicate his agreement. After An Xin left, he continued to monitor the auction website.
After An Xin left, Su Zhe stayed home to play with Baby, occasionally checking the auction status of the blue-and-purple macaws. The price kept rising, though each bid was relatively small, there were many interested buyers. By 4 PM, a buyer had already bid 8 million. Su Zhe estimated that reaching 10 million should not be a problem.
An Xin returned at 5 PM, having already bought the groceries. She didn't mention what she had been doing, and Su Zhe didn't ask, as everyone has their own privacy and personal matters they don't want others to know.
Su Zhe was quite satisfied with An Xin's performance. She did everything well, especially cooking. Before An Xin came, he and Baby ate out every day, and he was already tired of it. In the past, to save money, he either made a simple egg stir-fry or ate instant noodles or cheap fast food.
By 6 PM, An Xin had prepared dinner. Su Zhe brought Baby to wash their hands before sitting down to eat. It was a three-dish and one-soup meal, very abundant.
"Your home is quite far. You can rest in the room upstairs at night," Su Zhe said during the meal.
"No need. I still have to go out tonight and won't be coming back. I'll come over in the morning," An Xin shook her head and said.
"Okay, you can come over later tomorrow. Baby and I usually wake up late," Su Zhe raised an eyebrow but didn't say much more, just reminding An Xin that she didn't need to come early.
An Xin nodded to show she understood.
After that, they didn't say much more. Baby and Su Zhe kept eating, fully expressing their satisfaction with An Xin's cooking. An Xin ate very little, even less than Baby. It wasn't because she was shy about eating at Su Zhe's place, but rather that she seemed to have something on her mind and had no appetite. This was An Xin's private matter, and Su Zhe didn't know how to bring it up.
After the meal, Su Zhe returned to his room and opened the auction website to check.
Someone had already bid 9 million for the blue-and-purple macaws. The auction website had previously sold blue-and-purple macaws, and Su Zhe checked their final prices. The highest was 5.3 million, but it was an adult blue-and-purple macaw, nearly a meter long.
There was still an hour left before the auction for the blue-and-purple macaws ended, and the price kept rising with continuous bids.
With half an hour left, the bids became more frequent, and each bid was at least 10,000. The price quickly surpassed 10 million, reaching 13 million.
Suddenly, a message popped up on the auction website's backend. Su Zhe opened it and saw that the buyer of the golden-headed box turtle had confirmed receipt of the item. The website notified him that the money had been transferred to his account and reminded him to check. The buyer gave a full satisfaction rating, indicating they were very satisfied with the golden-headed box turtle.
Soon, Su Zhe received a bank notification that he had received 19.4 million. The auction website had deducted 200,000 as auction fees and 400,000 as personal income tax for the golden-headed box turtle auction.
The buyer also called to inform Su Zhe that he had received the golden-headed box turtle and was very satisfied, hoping to collaborate again in the future.
Su Zhe took the opportunity to tell him that he was currently auctioning two blue-and-purple macaws, asking if he was interested. The buyer said he had already seen the blue-and-purple macaws on the website but was only interested in various types of turtles, not other animals.
Su Zhe had to promise to notify him first if he had any turtles for sale in the future.
After hanging up, the auction for the blue-and-purple macaws was almost over, with only three minutes left. The price had already reached 18 million. When Su Zhe checked the bidding records, he noticed that the last few minutes of bids were from people who hadn't bid before.
Just like the buyer of the golden-headed box turtle, who hadn't bid once before but directly bid 20 million in the last five seconds to win the auction. Su Zhe estimated that the truly wealthy buyers preferred to bid at the last moment to secure the item without driving up the price from the start.
The auction for the blue-and-purple macaws was about to end, with the price already at 18 million.
