After Liu Xiong sent Su Zhe home, he helped him into the room. Then, Liu Xiong explained to An Xin why Su Zhe was in this state. He only gave a few explanations before leaving.
As a big boss, Liu Xiong certainly wouldn't know how to take care of someone, let alone a drunk Su Zhe. Liu Xiong irresponsibly left, leaving An Xin to deal with the headache alone.
An Xin tried calling Su Zhe's name a few times and shook his wrist, but without a doubt, she received no response from Su Zhe. An Xin took off Su Zhe's shoes and, with great effort, helped him into a more comfortable sleeping position.
Then she walked out of the room, got a basin, poured some warm water, and took a towel. She returned to Su Zhe's room, intending to wipe his face. An Xin tested the water temperature, and once it felt right, she wet the towel and wrung it out. She gently wiped Su Zhe's face with the warm towel.
In his deep sleep, Su Zhe's brows were tightly furrowed, either because of the discomfort from being drunk or because of some unpleasant thoughts. An Xin had rarely seen Su Zhe with such an expression. Su Zhe always gave the impression of being optimistic and carefree, as if he could face anything with ease.
This made An Xin feel a slight pang of sympathy. It turned out that Su Zhe also had a vulnerable side, but he was not good at expressing it and had hidden it deeply.
After carefully wiping Su Zhe's face, An Xin placed the towel in the basin. Then she sat beside Su Zhe, placed her hands on his temples, and gently massaged them with her index fingers.
Her movements were very gentle, and the pressure was just right, not enough to wake Su Zhe but enough to make him feel relaxed. After a while, Su Zhe's furrowed brows began to relax, and he slept very peacefully.
With her fingers aching, An Xin saw that Su Zhe was much more relaxed and stood up, intending to tidy up and go back to her room to rest.
However, just as An Xin stood up and before she could steady herself, she felt someone grab her hand. The person only pulled lightly, and without any defense, she fell onto the bed.
Startled, An Xin soon felt a weight on her body as the person pressed down on her. Then, her lips were covered by something wet.
An Xin was taken aback, her eyes wide open. She had no other reaction, not even her heartbeat, which seemed to forget to beat for a moment. An Xin had forgotten how to breathe.
Su Zhe only pressed his lips tightly against An Xin's, doing nothing else, which barely even counted as a kiss.
It felt like a long time, and just as An Xin felt she was about to suffocate, Su Zhe lifted his head and left her lips.
Su Zhe stared at An Xin with a burning gaze, as if he wanted to melt her into his eyes. An Xin, who quickly regained her senses, could not bear Su Zhe's gaze and tightly closed her eyes. Her slightly trembling eyelashes revealed her unease.
With her eyes closed, An Xin felt Su Zhe's hot breath getting closer to her. Her heart, which had recovered, began to beat rapidly.
In this silent moment, An Xin could almost hear her own heartbeat, which was very fast. She was very anxious, but at the same time, there was a faint sense of anticipation, though she did not realize it.
Soon, Su Zhe's warm breath stopped by An Xin's ear, but she felt nothing else. When she came to her senses, she opened her eyes. Su Zhe had already fallen asleep again, lying beside her, his face pressed against her cheek.
An Xin quickly got out of Su Zhe's embrace and ran out of the room. She leaned against the wall, feeling weak. Her face was red, and her heart was beating fast. She touched her face, which was very hot, almost burning. Without a mirror, An Xin knew her face must be very red.
After a long time, An Xin calmed down and gathered the courage to re-enter the room. She found Su Zhe sleeping soundly and quickly tidied up before leaving the room.
The night passed without incident, with Su Zhe sleeping deeply. However, An Xin was unable to sleep, as she spent the entire night lost in thought, her mind in turmoil. She did not fall asleep until dawn.
The next day, when the sunlight from the window shone on Su Zhe, he woke up.
Su Zhe still had a headache. He rubbed his head and walked out of the room. Feeling thirsty, he went to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
An Xin was in the kitchen making breakfast. He took a glass and looked at An Xin, noticing that she did not look well and seemed a bit tired. He asked, "An Xin, what's wrong? You look a bit tired."
"Nothing, I just didn't sleep well last night," An Xin said, thinking about what happened last night, her face turning red again, even her ears.
"You need to take better care of yourself and not overwork your body," Su Zhe said, not suspecting anything and not noticing An Xin's change. He poured water into the glass as he spoke.
Su Zhe picked up the glass, put it to his mouth, and was about to drink when he suddenly remembered something. He asked, "I remember going out to eat with Brother Liu last night and drinking. When did I come back?"
"You don't remember? You forgot?" An Xin asked.
Su Zhe thought carefully but had no memory of what happened after he got drunk. He nodded.
Confirming that Su Zhe really did not remember what happened last night, An Xin felt a sense of relief. At first, she thought Su Zhe would remember and was startled.
This was for the best, avoiding any awkwardness between them. However, An Xin felt a slight disappointment, though it was so faint that she did not even notice it.
An Xin told Su Zhe about his drinking and how Liu Xiong had brought him back. She did not mention what happened afterward, only saying that Su Zhe had fallen into a deep sleep and could not be woken up, thus covering up the incident.
Hearing this, Su Zhe felt a bit embarrassed. He finished his water and left the kitchen. Feeling ashamed for getting drunk in front of a girl, he did not want to stay and chat with An Xin.
Seeing Su Zhe leave in a hurry, An Xin found it a bit amusing. At that moment, Su Zhe seemed somewhat cute, like a child who had never grown up.
