Chapter 80

Andrews might be serious, Yang Mo didn't know, but he knew his troubles were about to come one after another.

That night, after showering and changing into casual clothes at the gym, Yang Mo stepped onto the team bus and found an extra person, Kristen. Normally, NBA team buses were not allowed to have outsiders, but Kristen somehow managed to get on and even sat next to Yang Mo's designated seat.

Seeing Kristen, Yang Mo quickly turned to Pat Riley and asked, "Sir, what's going on?"

"She said she's your girlfriend, and she doesn't have a ride back to the hotel, so she wants to take our bus," Pat Riley replied calmly, holding a half-eaten hot dog. His bowl of pasta at the arena had been eaten by Yang Mo, so he was hungry and had to ask Cobb to buy him a hot dog.

"So, you just believed her and let a woman onto our team bus?" Yang Mo asked in surprise, thinking Pat Riley was being too lenient.

"What else? Should I refuse my granddaughter's idol? She promised to give me twenty signed posters of 'Twilight' and to personally call Patti," Pat Riley shrugged, finding it a no-brainer. To him, it was an irresistible offer, and letting a celebrity on the team bus was no big deal, just a small favor. As for whether Yang Mo would have trouble, he didn't care; he just wanted Yang Mo to perform at 100% on the court. It didn't matter to him how many celebrities Yang Mo dated.

"I—admire—you!" Yang Mo said the classic line from Stephen Chow, looking helpless, and then, under the mischievous gazes of all his teammates, slowly walked to the back row.

"Yang, you did great tonight," Kristen said, giving Yang Mo a warm hug as soon as he got on.

Yang Mo glanced back at his teammates, who had secretly stood up and were looking back, and quickly pushed Kristen away. "Thanks. Are you going to sit here?"

"Yes!"

"Then I'll sit in the front," Yang Mo decisively picked up his bag and moved to the front.

Kristen was a bit embarrassed; she had never been rejected like this before. But after a moment of self-hypnosis, she sat down again and said, "The air conditioning in the back is too cold. I'll sit next to you!"

Hearing this, Yang Mo stood up, turned off the air conditioning, and said, "It's not cold now."

The teammates in the front, who had been eavesdropping, were envious. Yang is so cool. This is Kristen, who is about to earn over thirty million dollars. Your three-year contract is less than a third of that. She doesn't mind you, and you don't even care. If Kristen came to me, I would hug her and keep her warm.

The guys in the front thought with a sense of injustice.

But Kristen wasn't angry at all. Instead, she smiled and said, "I still like sitting with you. Last night, I felt very safe sleeping in your arms."

Wow!

The guys in the front let out a chorus of amazed exclamations, full of innuendo.

Yang Mo quickly explained, "It's not what you think."

The guys in the front immediately fell silent, as if they hadn't heard.

Yang Mo knew it was useless to explain to them, so he closed his mouth and didn't try to make Kristen leave. He just let her sit there without talking to her.

Yang Mo wanted to handle it coldly, but Kristen wasn't willing. She quickly said, "Yang, I just borrowed Dwyane's phone to call Robert. We talked it over, and we've broken up peacefully."

"Okay," Yang Mo nodded calmly.

"Do you want to know why?" Kristen asked softly.

"Want to know!" Before Yang Mo could answer, the guys in the front answered in unison, like a chorus.

Ha!

Kristen giggled softly, finding the guys in the front adorable, even if they were a bit dark and ugly. After laughing, she continued, "It's because of you!"

"Me? You must be mistaken," Yang Mo stood up, pointing at himself. "I'm not your type. First, I'm not in the entertainment industry. Second, I'm not American, and our cultural backgrounds are different. Third, I'm an athlete, and I sweat all day and travel all over the country for games. Fourth, we've known each other for less than forty-eight hours. Can you make a decision after getting to know me better? Fifth, we really don't suit each other."

Yang Mo's rejection was so decisive that the teammates in the front were even more impressed. Refusing a beautiful and wealthy celebrity was not easy, but Yang Mo did it so easily. How could they not admire him?

"But those are exactly the reasons I like you. First, you're not in the entertainment industry, which is no problem for me; it's a good balance. Second, I've always liked Eastern culture, so we can complement each other. Third, I like athletic guys, and I love the smell of your sweat; it has a unique charm. Fourth, studies have shown that love at first sight is the most stable foundation for human relationships. Fifth, we really do suit each other. Meeting in such a big world and spending a wonderful night together is a gift from God, and we can only accept it, not refuse it," Kristen countered, ticking off each of Yang Mo's reasons on her fingers.

Hearing this, the teammates in the front admired Yang Mo even more. No matter what, they couldn't get rid of Kristen, and she became even more enthusiastic. What was this? Why was Yang so lucky? I can't even get a third-tier celebrity, and he has a top-tier star coming to him. Why is it so unfair for Miami players?

"I... you." Yang Mo didn't know what to say to Kristen and simply closed his eyes, pretending to sleep.

No one can wake a person who is pretending to sleep, and Kristen was no exception. She called out a few times, but Yang Mo ignored her. She didn't get angry; instead, she found him cute.

Women are like that. The better you treat them, the more they take you for granted. The more you ignore them, the more they stick to you. It's a woman's nature.

Soon, the bus arrived at the hotel. As soon as it stopped, Yang Mo grabbed his bag and quickly got off, took a room key from the team leader, and ran upstairs.

Seeing this, Kristen could only shake her head and smile helplessly.

At that moment, Michael Beasley walked over, very excited. "Hi, I'm Michael Beasley, you can call me Baby. I'm also a Miami player, and I sweat on the court every day. I also like Eastern culture, and I'm not in the entertainment industry. I want to be friends with you."

"Sure, Yang's friend is my friend," Kristen politely shook hands with Yang Mo.

Then she walked to Dwyane Wade and said, "Dwyane, can you give me Yang's phone number?"

"Of course," Wade, eager to help, took out his phone, found Yang Mo's number, and Kristen quickly wrote it down, carefully folding the paper and holding it in her hand.

After writing down the number, she carefully got off the bus and didn't forget to say to Pat Riley, "Mr. Riley, I'll definitely send Patti the posters, and I'll visit her in person. But... please take good care of Yang!"

"No problem, big star, I'll take good care of your treasure!" Pat Riley teased Kristen.

Hearing this, Kristen blushed and quickly waved, hurrying to the hotel next door.

After Kristen left, the players gathered around Michael Beasley, pretending to be excited, and said in unison, "Hi, I'm Michael Beasley, you can call me Baby..."

Beasley was embarrassed and shouted, "Okay! Stop making fun of me. I saw that Yang didn't like her, so I just wanted to comfort her and be friends with her..."

"Baby! Bye!" The teammates didn't bother to listen to his explanation, waving to him and laughing as they walked to the hotel.
