The Purple Mansion Divine Court Primordial Ancestral Qi True Technique.
This is the Daoist technique that Qin Xianyu is currently cultivating.
According to the old Daoist Guanxu, the White Cloud Temple had divine figures in the two generations before the current one, who could ride clouds and perform miraculous techniques. However, for some unknown reason, these skills were lost in the previous generation, and the legends of the ancestors seemed to have become false.
The Daoist techniques of the White Cloud Temple were originally just an ordinary Qi induction technique, which helped people cultivate true Qi, but it took several decades to achieve success. Guanxu practiced for a hundred years and reached the peak of this Qi induction technique, where he could project true Qi externally. Thus, he began to modify this technique.
Since he achieved the ability to project true Qi externally, it took him several decades to finally improve the Qi induction technique. He named it after the primordial ancestral qi in the Daoist scriptures, calling it the Purple Mansion Divine Court Primordial Ancestral Qi True Technique.
As the old Daoist mentioned earlier, Qin Xianyu had read many Daoist scriptures and was quite clear about the common Daoist terms and concepts, saving the old Daoist a lot of teaching effort. When Qin Xianyu saw this true Qi technique, he had already been speculating about the origin of the book's name.
"Purple Mansion and Divine Court refer to the ancestral acupoint between the eyebrows, also known as Kunlun, Qiongshi, Yaochi, and Zushan, among others. In Buddhism, it is called Sumeru Mountain."
"As for the Primordial Ancestral Qi, it is said to be the root of the human body, and even the soul is derived from this ancestral qi. This qi is the purest, being the source of human life, and is also called the primordial qi and the innate qi."
"Master Guanxu said that when he was improving this technique, he went through deep thought and repeated derivations, adding many Daoist techniques and experiences he occasionally obtained, which finally led to its success."
"The true Qi cultivated is called the innate primordial ancestral qi."
"What a grand name."
...
A few more days passed.
Qin Xianyu was engrossed in Daoist cultivation and sword practice, completely forgetting about other matters. Even on Wang Ji's wedding day, Qin Xianyu declined to attend and stayed in the Daoist temple. As for the matters concerning the Shangguan family, he had forgotten about them, and he never thought about the important person who had sent him over a hundred taels of silver.
Cultivating Daoist techniques and practicing Qi.
Holding a sword and practicing martial arts.
But he did not find it boring. He felt himself gradually becoming extraordinary through daily cultivation, as if he had found some extraordinary pleasure.
"Even a monotonous life day after day may not be uninteresting."
He smiled, washed the bowls and chopsticks, and poured the dishwater onto the cold-year grass.
Over these days, Qin Xianyu cherished the spiritual water and did not use it for irrigation. However, the dishwater, which was infused with the essence of the spiritual water, made the cold-year grass grow stronger, with leaves that were extremely bright and faintly shimmering with a silver glow.
It was said that this was a sign of the cold-year grass transforming into a ten-year-old cold-year grass, but Qin Xianyu did not pay much attention to it.
"Little Daoist, come here."
The old Daoist Guanxu waved his hand slightly and said, "How is your cultivation of the innate primordial ancestral qi going?"
Qin Xianyu whispered, "In the past two days, I have felt a flow of qi within my body, but it always feels somewhat unreal."
"This is the qi sensation," the old Daoist nodded slightly and said, "It seems illusory, but it is not true Qi. Even if you cultivate further and feel the true Qi as very real, it is still false. Only after truly cultivating true Qi will you have a sense of inner vision, and then the true Qi will be real."
Qin Xianyu seemed to understand and nodded slightly.
The old Daoist was silent for a moment and asked, "Have you heard the story of the bow's shadow in the cup?"
Qin Xianyu nodded and said, "Disciple has heard it."
"The shadow of a long bow reflected in a cup, resembling a small snake. Someone, while drinking, mistakenly thought there was snake venom in the cup, and after returning home, they gradually weakened and eventually died," the old Daoist said. "But they were not actually poisoned; it was just because they believed they were poisoned, and their mental state changed, causing their body to weaken, leading to their death."
"Similarly, there are people who become so sad that their hair turns white overnight."
"Such incidents are countless."
"The human mind can cause changes in the body," Guanxu paused and said solemnly, "Do you understand this?"
Qin Xianyu nodded slightly and said, "My qi sensation is not real; it is just because I run the technique and imagine that there is true Qi flowing within my body, and my mental state changes, so I have the qi sensation."
"Exactly," the old Daoist Guanxu said, "But turning the false into the real is extremely difficult. Some people think they are about to die, and after some time, they indeed lose their lives."
"Just as this principle, if you run the technique and imagine that you will have true Qi, over a long period, you will truly generate a flow of true Qi."
"I have traveled the world and seen many strange things."
"For example, there is a giant lizard in the mountains that can change its color to blend with the surrounding scenery, thus camouflaging itself. There is also a small animal that, when placed in a different environment, will change its color to match the surrounding environment over time."
"Another example is a strange shrimp in the river, with claws like a row of sharp knives, but under each front limb, there are several rows of small holes that can accommodate the knife-like claws. And there are acrobats who use external force to constrain themselves, such as tying their legs with ropes, and over time, even if the constraints are removed, their bodies remain shaped."
The old Daoist slowly said, "In the end, due to external forces and the environment, the body can change to adapt to the surroundings. This is passive, but we who cultivate true Qi actively use our minds to generate true Qi within our bodies."
"Both are changes in the body, but most changes in the world are due to external forces and the environment, which can take a few hours or even millions of years, and even species can change. Daoist cultivators, however, generate true Qi out of nothing according to their techniques."
Qin Xianyu was slightly startled. Even though he had cultivated the Purple Mansion Divine Court Primordial Ancestral Qi True Technique, he still found the mysteries of cultivation to be extremely profound. But the old Daoist explained it in such a simple and clear way.
"Ordinary people take several days, several dozen days, or even several years to cultivate the qi sensation, depending on their talent. I took three months to cultivate the qi sensation, but you have only taken a little over half a month." The old Daoist sighed and said, "Actually, you have excellent talent, but the main reason for your astonishing progress is the jade pill."
Qin Xianyu nodded slightly.
"Having the jade pill and the Daoist sword, your life will certainly be extraordinary."
The old Daoist Guanxu slightly raised his head, looked at Qin Xianyu, and whispered, "To cultivate the illusory qi sensation into true Qi, it may take at least ten years, or even several decades. With such a great opportunity, how can you spend several decades on this step?"
Qin Xianyu felt a slight shock.
Before Qin Xianyu could answer, Guanxu stood up, his sleeves fluttering.
A wind rose indoors.
All the pots, bowls, and utensils were thrown up by the wind.
The back room of the Daoist temple was in a mess.
Guanxu struck a palm, which landed precisely on the ancestral acupoint between Qin Xianyu's eyebrows.
A flow of qi entered from the center of his eyebrows, flowing along the meridians in a mysterious trajectory.
Qin Xianyu was startled. The mysterious trajectory was exactly the true Qi circulation method of the Purple Mansion Divine Court Primordial Ancestral Qi True Technique.
"Calming the mind and guarding the qi, sense the changes within your body."
PS: I've been a bit busy these past two days. The chapter at noon was a bit uncertain, but it should only take a couple of days.
