TL note: Here’s another chapter. also a minor change i asked the author about wiz name so.. Wiz Ariaros —-> Witch Ariaros (I know, it’s actually Witch and i still haven’t changed it in this chapter because i asked after i finished translating it) but other than that no more changes. btw, those chapters are a pain to translate… the difference between language is just too much. Just for example Thai has a lot of words for this one meaning but there’s not much words or variations i can choose from in English. So yeah if you see something weird or you think the quality is shit, it’s because of that. Also, i want to pump out like a chapter everyone 2 or 3 days but I think it’s too much for me cuz it’s like 3000-5000 words a chapter…

welp. let’s stop those complaint and please enjoy the chapter

Darkness embrace the area, making normal human’s eyesight even narrower. This makes pressure and emotion harder to control, if you haven’t been in this situation before. With enemies in every directions combined with stepping on grass but not concrete, this makes people in the area starts to leave.

Of course, if there are people leaving, there are also people entering. Most of the groups, especially the new students, think that being in a place bright enough to see people should be safer but the seniors know what’s fighting in the city looks like.

A beautiful watch in his hand tells him that it’s 21:53.

Ester glanced at it calmly. Even if he’s sweating, he’s still walking deeper into the forest like he intended to. The scream is now even louder, he is not able to ignore it anymore.

“Um. So in short, we are walking into the middle of the forest right?” Grace asked.

The darker it gets, the clearer she can see. Her golden hair reflects the moonlight in the dark as if it’s trying to show off her power indirectly. At this time, she feels very comfortable so she speaks to him without feeling embarrassed.

“Why isn’t there any creatures here?”

“It’s because this route is pretty safe. Human’s and Animal’s trail have some difference. Ones who has good nose will know that they wouldn’t want to stay around here. But if we walk into its normal route then it will be a different story.”

Even if he’s talking about forest stuff but what’s he thinking about are completely different.

Demon chain. Vampire that like to stir the pot. Murderous voice. Ghost that always stick to me. I should have chosen to be a necromancer…

“What’s with you?” Weapon girl in her human form said while adjusting her glasses. From her tone, he starts to suspect that she’s sulking even though he doesn’t know why. Just looking at her eyes and hearing her voice, he could assume that she’s not in a good mood. “You are making a face like you are carrying two worlds on your shoulder or something.”

It’s three…

*Swish*

The sound came from a small clump of grass under a big tree near Ester. Everyone turned their heads and look at the source of that sound. Because it’s already night time, Ester can’t see quite clearly unlike the three girls who seem like are used to darkness.

The prisoner could feel the sudden change in the temperature, it’s getting warmer. Even if it’s just a little sound, it still make him cautious. Also because it seems that only he can feel the changes, he starts to think of the reason of these changes.

“Monsters?” He asked

His dark pupils looked into the darkness. Clenching both fists, he gets ready to call out his weapons. Even though there are multiple enemies, he’s pretty confident that he and the girls can take them out if they aren’t too strong.

“Don’t think so. I can’t smell any.” Vampire girl answered back with a cold voice.

But her hands have already held her gun.

*Shuffle Shuffle Shuffle*

The sound is getting louder and louder, making it scarier. Three people and one ghost look at each other. All of them, if not in battle stance, have already drawn their weapon. Of course, they won’t risk getting close to it just to have a good look.

Bright red pupils as if it’s inferno flame can be seen in the bush. Ester flinched when it looked at him. He approached it cautiously with fear of it attacking him. Their distant are slowly shrinking. Ester stops when he see the eyes suddenly move with quite a speed.

The culprit showed himself.

A fire color squirrel jumped out of the bush.

Sound of sighing can be heard from the vampire girl. She lowered her gun as her instinct told and Victoria already approach it as if she hadn’t seen it before but there’s still two people who’s not amused with this little guy.

“Phew, It’s just a squirrel.” The gun girl relaxed without any doubt and Victoria’s already close to that vermillion mammal. She moves her hands around as if she think it could see her.

“Hey, Come and play with me, little guy.”

While those words come out of her mouth, Ester’s and Tartarus’s face already turned pale like they just walk pass a real ghost. They sweat like there’s a fire nearby. Their feet slowly step back while trying to call the people who don’t know anything.

“Shit, I still can’t use my left hand. If I face that thing, I won’t come out alive.” He’s thinking hard.

The voice in his head is still loud and clear but right now is not the time to care about it. A dangerous creatures just came out and it’s also the ones that he doesn’t want to encounter the most. Something in his body is telling him that

Carelessness. Instant death.

Because he has read a lot of books, some of it are encyclopedias and it’s no different with sadist chain girl. Both of them remember that the creature in front of them is very dangerous, especially in the woods.

*Gulped*

Both of them gulped without noticing.

“Normally they travel in group, right?” Ester asked Tartarus who’s trying to find a solution for this situation.

“Yeah, around two or three hundreds. And if they are good enough for us not to detect them, I bet they have a really strong leader… and there’s no way they will appear alone–”

*Bling*

Before she could end her sentence, a bright magic circle appeared under the cute squirrel out of the blue. People closest to it like Grace and Victoria stopped all of their action and retreated swiftly.

Heat starts coming out with bright red light, so bright that you could mistook it for a spotlight. Trees, leaves and grass around it starts to dry up. Despite it just standing still, Ester wanted to run away so bad.

“Okay okay. Hey, Tartarus, help me this guy fast. This guy’s magic alone isn’t that big of a deal but if they swarmed us, I think going into the city would be better.”

*Boom!!*

Heat starts to gushes out with the squirrel in the center. Flame that got lit brighten the darkness like daylight and it looks like it’s their signal to fight. A couple of hundreds of eyes start to appear in the dark.

Its magic is very easy understand. The flame is starting accumulating like a balloon. If you blow it too much, it’s going to explode.

Ester doesn’t think that he will be fine after he received it.

“Ah shit… I changed my mind, let’s run!!!” He called out to Grace and Victoria who almost got hit by the flame. The latter won’t have any problem because she’s a ghost. But Grace, even though she’s a vampire, she won’t be able the bear the explosion. Ester grab her and run away but it’s not fast enough resulting in burnt wounds around her arm.

“Hey, don’t die on me now.”

They started running without even looking back because hundreds of magic circles started to appear behind them. Ester looks at her wounds which are healing on their own with relief. He was wondering if her arm can’t be use anymore, does he need to feed her more blood.

*Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom*

The impacts of explosions tear away the forest with animals running for their lives. Looks like they doesn’t care about destroying the forest. Right now, even the grass that Ester’s running on are starting to get hot, hot enough for him to get the burnt smell.

“Hey, they are still chasing us!” Victoria shouted while looking back.

Victoria is the most comfortable in the group because she doesn’t need to worry about colliding into trees and stuffs. In fact, she doesn’t even need to dodge the flames.

Why are you even scared? Ester thought.

After a while, they starts to get tired, especially Ester. He has lost some blood combined it with carrying a girl who’s recovering. Even though Grace said that wounds on her arm won’t affect her legs but the recovery effect has drawn out some of her strength, she could even fall down while running if he’s not carrying her.

But the person who surprises him the most is Tartarus who isn’t panting that much but her face shows that she’s losing patience. This has made him a little curious because it looks like she’s not tired but more like…. Irritated.

“Have you ever exercised before?” He asked Tartarus while running which she instantly shook her head.

This Hikki… He even thought it when he first looked at her. [TL: Referring to Hikikomori]

After some times, fatigue is starting to do its job, everyone except his weapon are starting to slow down. Suddenly one person’s endeavor ran out even though they are almost out of the danger zone.

“I have had enough.” Grace spoke up and stop the one who’s carrying her.

“I’m tired of it.” The leader of stopping group spoke. Her blood red pupils are showing that she’s getting more and more angry and if he’s not mistaken, he saw her eyes shining.

“You are just some squirrels but dare to go against a vampire!?” She said that while drawing out her gun. “You have crossed the line now.”

After voice of a vampire mafia descendant ends. Bat wings came out of her back. Her canine which was a bit longer than normal turned scaringly sharp. Her nails go through the trees as if they are swords. Her black dress that was torn is now back to normal.

Her gun starts to glow and changes its color from black to white with a little bit of blue.

Tartarus and Ester looked at her gun which changed its color with surprised and amazed feeling. First, the wolf head at the tip of her gun isn’t Walpurgis’s badge. Second, the magical power that came out of the gun like a river made the squirrels stopped.

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

“Die. Die. Die. Die. All of you just die.” Her voice differed from normal. Looks like she’s already went frenzied. Grace pulls her trigger one after another without even changing magazine. Ester guesses that if it’s not her psychic power in the gun, she’s using her magical power as bullets.

I should say ‘as expected of a mafia daughter’ but her upper-class image is all blown away.

One human, one weapon and one ghost just watch her shoot the squirrel with fun silently. Sounds of poor squirrels’ whimper can be heard in the forest but he won’t give them a pity or the gun girl will shoot him to death. Also he’s a bit confused considering the wounds she received earlier, she’s pretty okay.

“Um. Looks like they are coming non-stop…” Ester looks at the fight with thrill when he sees that the girl is clearly at a disadvantage. It’s because they are coming out more than she could handle.

“Tartarus.” Prisoner of the cursed building looked at the chain in human form. He instantly decides to use her because after he sees Grace fighting, he’s now very curious about her Tartarus fights. The sounds of gun shots also lit up his fire, even if it’s just a little.

She smiled for a moment for turning back into a chain shackled at his legs. The coldness of metal gives him burn feeling around his ankle combined with her weight make Ester fold his lip and then sigh thinking about what he’s going to do.

“This will be your first time.” Tartarus tease him a little. “Are you sure?” [TLNotes: It’s not what you think]

“Yeah… might as well just kill all of them… can you do it?” He said.

“With her fighting there, this will be even easier.” The chain shakes a little like it’s been waiting for this moment. “What about the people in the forest?”

“Let’s do it like this, kill everyone. Also creatures that might attack us in the future. Kill them all” Ester ordered something that covers a lot of area to test Tatarus. He doesn’t what will she do but what he knows is that she won’t make him disappointed.

“No problem. Let’s do it.” She mumbled.

After she finished talking, the chain stretches out and split into branches like a tree’s root connected to the cross then something came out. It was books.

Books? Seriously?

Pages from thousands of books flew out as if they are birds looking for their prey. The moon which was shining faintly is now blocked by all the pages, people both in the forest and inside the campus started to notice it as well.

Ten chains split out into a hundred. In an instant, they grab all of the people and animals. Those poor souls don’t even know what will happen to them next. This make people who are fighting and hiding in the city stop fighting and pay attention to the forest.

Tartarus’ chanting can be heard throughout the forest. Her voice is so calm like surface of still water because of this, everyone who heard her voice are reconsidering the meaning of the word ‘life’. Why? Because when you heard it, you’ve already closed the door to being alive.

“You people, who are in imprisonment.

Hate the destiny who makes you faced me.

Hate the sky who makes you meet me.

Fall down into the darkness because you dare to stand up to my master.

Remember for the rest of your life that you have been killed by my hands.” [Tl ntoes J : Yea it’s supposed to be something like Shakespeare but I’m too dumb for that. Sorry :p ]

When the last phrase starts, everything seems to stop. The wind stopped blowing even though Ester still shivers from its coldness a moment ago. Everything that’s happening at moment convinces him that even the Earth is scared of going against her.

“CRYING DESTINY.”

Ester looks up into the sky that has lights on it as if they are fireworks. Light from the moon and the stars can’t even be compared to the lights from the paper floating in the night sky. He looks at the chain that still shackles his legs with terror but more than that is interested.

In the blink of an eye, countless magic circles starts to appear. Some books even have weapon coming out of it. Even though a moment ago everything was silent, the forest and the wind are now filled with screams and cries as if they could tell the future of themselves.

“Perish.”

*Boom!*

At the end of her sentence, ground around Ester started to shake. Almost half of the forest is now in flame. Chains that hold their targets start to tear them into parts, some of them let the flame run up and burn the things they are holding. And there are also some that doesn’t do anything to thing that it grabbed.

After all of that, the books flying in to sky started to do its job. Some spit out fireballs. Some have guns in them. Some chant their own spells. All of them changed the beautiful forest into a miserable place. Everything in the sky is nothing more than a ticket to hell.

The squirrels that were caught are now ready to eat. Their smells are really nice too.

The poor students that were caught in this are starting to spit out curses and swear to earth and sky that they will find the culprit behind this and kill him. Streaks of white light starts heading to the castle. There are still people who don’t know what’s going on but not long after they all turn into corpses.

“Wow wow, Cry Destiny? Seems to be really good at destroying the forest.” Right now, Ester is kind a happy that he has Tartarus on his side.

He can’t stop the thought that she’s really a sadist.

Grace flew to him and speaks. “Hey, what’s going on? The squirrels got caught by the chain and then the flame starts to….”

Her expression changed when she saw the chain around his feet. Her question has already been answer by what she sees. Even Ester just smile back instead of answering.

“It’s Tartarus right?” She nodded as if she started to understand the whole story. “I should have guess.”

“Yes, it’s her.” Victoria answered instead of Ester.

Sounds of gunshots and explosions rhyme as if they are a musical band. After a while they seems to calm down, leaving nothing as evident. No one got to know that the one who ordered it just wanted to test out his new weapon.

While she finished cleaning up the forest, the chains the branches out starts to disappear with the books. Only a few flew back into the cross.

“The forest is clear now, have a nice walk.” Tartarus said with flat tone.

Ester looks at the forest which is now more like a plain. True, there are still some trees that are on fire but the place that he’s standing right now is a hole like it got hit by a meteorite or something. Everyone living things are gone what’s left are some animal that can’t pose them any threat shivering in fear.

A big building standing in a middle of the night. The flame of war is still burning the oxygen and well of the lives of people that were consumed by it. Light and smokes that come out of the top of buildings are countless.

“What do you think, Ms. Sasaki? The juniors this year.”

An old man in white standing in the war zone that calmed down a bit stoke his beard.

Beside him, a miko was there. She answered the one who’s at the top of the university with flat tone. “It’s mediocre. There are some strong groups but their group fighting isn’t as good as it should be… Some groups even split at the start. The second years and the third years aren’t much better. Fighting against each other? So in short, they failed. I think they still need a lot of training.”

“Hahaha… that’s very brutal.” Lauren Aegis spoke out his thought.

From what he can predict and sees from this fight. What she said is not far from the truth. Even though they have studied a lot but when the moment they go into the battlefield they went frenzied. They have to be disciplined before being a fourth year where they will have to try real battlefields.

“Why don’t you send some seniors into the forest?” The old man asked.

“It’s too dangerous. Right now the forest isn’t fully explored. Even some animals can be too much of a threat.” She said that while still looking at the battlefield. “Principle, what are you thinking? Opening the forest area and letting the first years to go in there.”

“Because it seems fun. If there’s a guy who can go into the middle of the forest and come out alive, it’s worth the risk.” Principle said while having some hope in his gaze. “If they enter from a correct angle, they won’t get any hallucination. Also, they won’t show up at time like this.”

“There’s no wa—“

*Boom*

Sound of explosions came from the forest. Thousands of books are flying above the green forest while attacking it ferociously. They painted the dark sky into red from the fire that’s spreading. Sounds of destruction can be heard without it stopping.

“What magic is that? I haven’t seen anything like that before.” President said with a surprised voice but she could still hide all of her emotions perfectly.

“It’s Crying Destiny. I haven’t seen it in a while.” He said with nostalgia. Thinking back when he just received the title of principle and when thousands of people died when he tried to cram all of the stuff into that small room.

“It’s nice that there’s still the magic barrier.”

After he finished talking, something flew to him with an incredibly high speed.

A bullet.

The ball of lead was blocked by Principle’s magic. The silver bullet floated in the air and had smoke coming out of it. The smoke changed into the old world language. This make him smile with amuse instead of anger.

FUCK YOU

This came instead of greeting? Well I guess it’s appropriate.

“What’s the meaning of this, Principle? Who would dared to send this vulgar message to you?” Ryoko said louder than she normally would showing her anger. But for someone who’s been with her for some time would know that it’s just all an act.

“It’s an old friend… Don’t worry about it too much because you wouldn’t be able to do anything anyway.” He is trying to hold out joy in his voice. “It’s the one who chant the spell.”

If she fully recovered, he might not even be considered an opponent.

This is really interesting.

In that moment, killing intent started to gush out from him. It makes the seniors and the president jumped. There are even people who fainted.

“Ah! I’m sorry, it wasn’t intentional.” He apologized while others looked at him kind a scared.

This old man can’t really be measured.

“Grrr!!”

A loud cry came with sharp claws aiming at the president. She glanced at it and moved her body a bit, dodging it. This makes the werewolf hit the ground then a gunshot could be heard, the little dog has already turned into a corpse.

The miko girl put away her revolver in a holster behind her.

With the time closer and closer to midnight, the first years’ amount isn’t even one third of the original now. After the seniors finished their fights with each other, they finally start the welcome party for the juniors. Some think about using an annihilation spell but they decided not to use it because there won’t be any fun in that. The poor first years didn’t know that walking into the city wasn’t much different from walking into hell.

“There isn’t even one sniper who died?”

Target Chariot talked to the radio (can temporary interfere with the magic barrier. Use electricity.). His platinum blond hair is drenched with sweat from sitting on a high place for so long. His white and gold knight outfit doesn’t suit him holding a rifle with a scope. His expression shows his disappointment.

“The juniors this year are terrible. It’s been so long already, someone should’ve notice that there would be someone attacking them from long range.” The voice from the other side of the radio shows that he isn’t less disappointed.

*Click click…fizzzzzzzzz*

“Looks like there’s a guest.” Target said.

Right now all of the snipers are on full alert. Their care free expression from before turned into a serious one. Capable of killing an assassin on top of a building shows that either the killer won’t come in the front or he’s pretty confident in his skills.

*Swish*

After that sound he could feel it. A knife flew onto his back, piercing his heart. He didn’t even have a chance to react. A person in white gown walks in and grab his gun, his glasses reflects the moonlight so he couldn’t see his gaze at all.

A…doctor? That’s the last thing he could think of before dying.

The killer looks at the corpse with a cold gaze before picking up the radio on the ground. He changed the frequency to match what he was told. He said some words into it, waiting for the reaction from other side. Not long after Joshua could hear something from it.

“WOOO. Can you hear me, guys?” Words from the radio are somewhat annoying. “I have already deal with the sniper on my building…. Hey, Tony don’t eat the corpse.”

You could hear some barks and sound of something that was torn off.

“You don’t ever listen, do you?” The same guy spoke.

“The first school building is clear now.” Clear voices of two girls can be heard. “There’s too few people that I feel like I didn’t even do anything.”

“The second school building is…. Um…” The witch on other side of radio sighs while looking at the destruction in front of her. She couldn’t say that she bomb the building with the guys inside. So Witch just answered.

“It’s already scorched.”

“The research building, all dead.” Sound of a magician is kind a carefree. “I guess, I used too much curses.”

*Boom* *Boom*

The other side of radio, some sound of destruction could be heard with a monotone voice. “Cafeteria, just finished.”

“The management building is also finished.” A guy said while lowering his voice.

Fighting with someone who didn’t prepare themselves are really boring…

He thought while lowering the rifle that he was using as a binocular. With a plan that the witch and the computer dude made, it really made thing easier than he thought but there’s one thing that still worry this doctor, it’s the guy that was chained.

Joshua Healer look at the other buildings that his group is in. His group member are waving their hand in the buildings, some are at the rooftop. Attacking while they are unprepared really killed them all.

“You guys be mindful about their reinforcements. I think we should retreat back now.” The witch said with a low voice.

“Got it.”

*Boom*

The rooftop door got kicked open. The doctor turned back, seeing the seniors who seems really happy that they found their target. This makes him shook his head slowly.

Guns, Staves, Wands, Swords, Grenades. Weapons in their hands are drawn out.

“Sorry but there’s already an order for me to retrea—“

*Bang*

A gunshot was heard before he could finish his sentence but he’s already disappeared from the seniors’ sight. Everyone ran into the rooftop trying to find where he was and they can see him other ledge of another building. Weapons was aimed at him once again.

“Bye~” He smiled while waving at them before jumping off the ledge.

People ran to see if the corpse is really there but they couldn’t find it. They stopped thinking about chasing him the moment they knew what psychic power he has.

“A teleporter wouldn’t die from just falling of a building.” A person draws out an automatic pistol. “Medical field, same as me… you will have to face me.”

People around there smiled.
