Lu Zhaoyang stood up and accepted the glass .

“Cheers . ”

Lu Zhaoyang raised her glass toward Mo Ning, but the latter hesitated before their glasses clinked .

The wine in Lu Zhaoyang’s glass was added with a very deadly chemical .

The glass was already at the edge of her lips as Lu Zhaoyang prepared to down the wine . Suddenly, a figure appeared out of nowhere and knocked right into Lu Zhaoyang’s arm that was holding the glass .

“Ah!” She lost her grip and the wine glass shattered onto the ground .

The wine spilled all over the floor .

After a moment of silence, the figure mumbled slowly, “My apologies, I think I’m drunk . ”

Yan Sinian took a quick glance at Mo Ning and saw that she looked relieved . Her fist was unclenched .

He then turned to Lu Zhaoyang and made a Western gesture of apology . He spoke with a sincere tone, “Ma’am, please forgive my unruliness . I didn’t mean it . ”

“That’s alright . ” Lu Zhaoyang was not the fussy kind .

“Thank you,” Yan Sinian said with a smile and then looked at Mo Ning . “I think I need some fresh air, care to walk with me?”

“… Sure . ”

Mo Ning did not reject him . Lu Zhaoyang smiled and offered, “There is a nice garden on the Eastern side, if you’re interested . ”

“Thank you . ”

Mo Ning gathered herself and replied .

Yan Sinian and Mo Ning left together . No one aside from those two knew of the great danger that was averted just now!

Mo Ning headed for the garden that Lu Zhaoyang mentioned and went to a secluded corner .

With her back facing Yan Sinian, she asked flatly, “Is that why you are here tonight, to stop me?”

Yan Sinian raised an eyebrow and did not reply .

“Since when have you become so nosy?”

Mo Ning turned around and directed an icy stare at him .
