“It seems to be their nap time. Could

you grab something to cover them?”

“Ah……yes.”

He

brought out a light comforter, and laid the two of them next to each

other, using the cushions as pillows. Akio and Natsuki seemed to be

linked as they both breathed with the same rhythm. Kiri’s eyes as he

watched the two of them were extremely gentle and warm. They were

like that when he stroked his own head as well—looking at him

objectively, Touya became a little embarrassed. They weren’t parent

and children, or brothers. He wondered just what sort of relationship

Kiri, Natsuki and Akio had with each other.

“Do you think

it’s strange? These children. Akio and Natsuki have their reasons.

For staying children forever. They may grow up sooner or later

though.”

“……why is that?”

“Because something sad

happened to them, and so they wouldn’t remember it—I put a spell on

them.”

He smiled mysteriously, as if that was the truth half

mixed with a joke. Even though normally he wouldn’t believe such a

thing, since this was the world of ayakashi, no matter what happened,

it wasn’t all that unusual. He felt as though Kiri really could use

that sort of magic.
