While Cheng Yao was completely drunk, she followed Qian Heng to the car.
As soon as he got in the car, Qian Heng asked. “How can I let Tan Ying take you home?”
Although what Qian Heng said was highly poisonous, Cheng Yao was touched by the fact that he was still mindful not to let two girls travel alone at night. Offering to send both of them home was very chivalrous of him.
“Have you thought about what will happen if she sent you home and found out that we lived together?” Qian Heng’s voice was icy. “Although we have a very simple roommate relationship, if news got out and was passed around then the truth will change.”
It turned out that Qian Heng was only someone who acted cold on the outside, but was actually warm on the inside, Cheng Yao thought. He knew to protect her reputation as a single girl! She didn’t know if it were the effects of alcohol or she was genuine moved but at that moment Cheng Yao felt very warm…
However, before Cheng Yao could say “thank you”. Qian Heng, the leader of the Five Poisons ruthlessly poured a bucket of cold water on her.
“I don’t care about you, but I can’t ruin my reputation.”
“…”
As always, Qian Heng made people feel suffocated.
She regretted thinking those good thoughts about him.
“When we’re back home, drink some sober tea.”
“Huh? Ok.” Maybe she had made her judgement on him too quickly? If he could think to take care of others and brew them a cup of sober tea then maybe Qian Heng could still be rescued.
As soon as those thoughts circulated in Cheng Yao’s mind, she heard Qian Heng continue to say——
“Once you sober up, you can fix the water pipe.”
“…”
Cheng Yao was now sure that Qian Heng had really poisoned all of her five internal organs and even medicine could not save her.
There was no room for rescue; she should just quickly die.
The location of the bar was some distance away from the house where Cheng Yao was renting. Misfortunes did not come individually. There was a traffic jam at that point in time and Qian Heng had a Bentley so he could only slowly move in the traffic.
If Cheng Yao was only slightly drunk before, the effects of alcohol were now eroding away her sanity. She started getting sleepy. The constant starting and braking of the car was making her dizzier and was even upsetting her stomach.
“Boss… I feel a little uncomfortable…”
Qian Heng was too lazy to humour Cheng Yao: “Don’t think that you can get any special treatment by pretending to be drunk and falsely claiming that you are unwell. Of course, if you fix the water pipe then I can pay you the two hundred and fifty you lost.”
Cheng Yao’s entire face was scrunched up: “I really am uncomfortable though…”
“I’ll give you five hundred, no more than that.”
“…”
Fortunately, they were close to home. Bear with it, Cheng Yao. You can do it!
It was a pity that things went south quickly. As the traffic jam intensified, Cheng Yao only felt that she was getting dizzier.
“Boss, I don’t feel very good…” Not only was it uncomfortable, Cheng Yao felt that there was a raging storm in her stomach.
Still believing that Cheng Yao was pretending. Qian Heng coldly snorted: “As a legal practitioner, you should know that everything you say must be supported by strong evidence. Since you said that you feel uncomfortable…”
“…”
“Cheng!!! Yao!!!” For the first time in history, Qian Heng lost his usual nobility, glamour and calmness. At that moment, his voice was full of unrestrained anger and shock.
When he was still speaking just then, Cheng Yao had vomited in his car when it came to a sudden stop.
Cheng Yao was already delirious. She was very uncomfortable and had an enormous headache. She was also very sleepy, but her basic qualities as a legal practitioner still supported her.
“Evidence.”
Qian Heng angrily chuckled. “What?”
Cheng Yao pointed at the mess in the Bentley: “This is proof to what I said.” She eased her dizzy head and added. “I said, I didn’t feel good.”
“…”
Qian Heng drove the car all the way into the complex with a black face. He opened the door for her.
Cheng Yao collapsed in her seat and looked up at Qian Heng.
Qian Heng’s voice was restraint but at the end of his tone, it was laced with intolerance: “Cheng Yao, don’t challenge my bottom line.”
Cheng Yao wanted to get up, but her body was weak all over. Although she felt that it was not too good, the feeling of indulging herself on the effects of alcohol was extremely gratifying: “I can’t get up.”
The alcohol made her rationality disappear and the usual warning of “Beware of Toxic Boss” was swept away by the dizziness and headache. Cheng Yao’s current behaviour was a subconscious reaction. She had abandoned her sense of sensibility and the possible consequences. Everything she was doing now was out of instinct.
She blinked, staring at Qian Heng with a pair of clear eyes. “I can’t walk.”
She was telling the truth without any artificial words. When she said those two simple sentences, the effect on others was completely different.
Cheng Yao’s eyes were slightly wet with tears and her pale face was a little red because of the alcohol. When she looked straight at Qian Heng. She was silent, quiet, innocent and at a loss.
Obviously, Cheng Yao didn’t deliberately or even consciously acted that way, but Qian Heng felt attacked.
Wu Jun was right. As a lawyer, Cheng Yao was a little too good-looking. For the first time, he realised that beauty could also be a weapon.
Under Cheng Yao’s unwavering gaze, Qian Heng took a step back.
That was completely subconscious. Although he didn’t know why in his heart, his body moved instinctively.
That was a little dangerous.
He could go and find someone to clean the car, but he couldn’t just leave Cheng Yao there.
Qian Heng frowned and looked at Cheng Yao for a moment, then he unbuttoned his coat and took it off.
