Because of her sympathy for Bai Xingmeng, Cheng Yao was very concerned about her case. Last night, she worked overtime to prepare the prosecution materials. Early next morning, she sent the full set of materials to Qian Heng for review.

Although his mouth was poisonous, Qian Heng was very diligent when it came to his work. Soon, Cheng Yao received his email reply. The indictment she drafted had all been revised using the revised model and along with it, some comments were attached, briefly explaining the reason for the modification.

Because of this, Cheng Yao efficiently finished her job and sent the case filing materials to the court that day.

However, as soon as she came back from the court, she encountered an unexpected guest-

Dong Min

She was standing at the entrance of Junheng. But unlike the proud and well-dressed Dong Min she had seen last time, today she looked very pitiful. Her face was pale, and her eyes were red and swollen. Her arrogant demeanor was now completely gone. Cheng Yao walked towards her but Dong Min didn’t notice her. Seeing her dash into Junheng, it seemed she had some very important matter. Cheng Yao could only see her dress flash by as she quickly walked into Junheng with a sad expression.

“Qian Heng! Where’s Qian Heng! I’m looking for Qian Heng!”

The receptionist at the front desk tried to intercept, “Miss Dong, do you have an appointment? If you don’t have an appointment…”

It seemed that Dong Min didn’t realize it, but her eyes were brimming with tears, and her lips were trembling. “No, I want to see Qian Heng immediately. I have to ask him what is going on!”

“Cheng Yao!”

Feeling helpless, Dong Min turned to Cheng Yao who was standing behind her. The usually skeptical Dong Min didn’t even ask what Cheng Yao was doing at Junheng at this moment. She just rushed towards her and held Cheng Yao’s hand. “If you are here, then Qian Heng should also be here, right? Please, let me meet Qian Heng. I really have something important…”

Dong Min caused a lot of commotion in the large office area, and because of this, several other lawyers started turning their heads towards them.

Cheng Yao was a little embarrassed, “Partner Qian is not here. He went to the court in the morning…”

‘It doesn’t matter if he really went out, even if he hadn’t, he will definitely order me to stop you, ah.’ Cheng Yao burst into a cold sweat. If she didn’t stop Dong Min here now, she didn’t know how Qian Heng would clean herself up.

She didn’t know what kind of luck she had, but as soon as she finished talking, Qian Heng walked in from the front door. It seemed that the trial had gone smoothly, but his good mood soon came to an end.

When he saw a bunch of people crowding at the door, Qian Heng frowned. As soon as he was about to scold them, his gaze unconsciously fell on Cheng Yao’s eyes.

Cheng Yao was winking at him like a clumsy undercover agent, hinting at the danger ahead. The moment Dong Min saw Qian Heng, Cheng Yao’s face flashed with the despair of a heroic sacrifice.

Qian Heng’s mood suddenly improved a little. He thought her expression was quite rich and entertaining.

Compared with Qian Heng’s calmness, Dong Min was in a much more distressed state. She cried out, “Qian Heng!”

Just when Cheng Yao thought that Qian Heng would give her a terrible murderous glare, Qian Heng did nothing of that sort. Also, he surprisingly did not avoid Dong Min. Although he took the initiative to talk to her, his attitude was extremely indifferent.

“I can’t talk to you about your father’s case. So there’s no use in coming here to find me.”

Dong Min was anxious, “That’s my father! Why can’t I know!”

“Because my client is him, not his daughter. I only protect his interests and his privacy, not yours.”

“What is going on, Qian Heng? Please tell me why my dad suddenly wants to divorce my mother! Weren’t they always very affectionate towards each other? It doesn’t make sense! It’s impossible! He even said a week ago that he would take her to the place where they met for the first time for her birthday. It’s all a mistake, right?”

“You shouldn’t ask me this. I’m just your father’s lawyer. You should ask all this from your father.” Facing Dong Min’s weeping figure, Qian Heng was completely unmoved. He simply raised his arm and looked at his watch, “Cheng Yao, if Miss Dong has nothing to negotiate with us, then see off the guest. We are a law firm, not the sets of an eight o’clock dogblood family drama.”

After Qian Heng finished speaking, he looked around the large office area again.

“All of those who still have their heads up, is it that your workload is not enough?”

As soon as he finished saying this, Li Minglei, Wang Lu, Tan Ying, and the others quietly lowered their heads, which had slightly raised to watch the gossip.

Qian Heng snorted and went back to his office.
