Chapter 9

4 min read984 words

Holding the precious sword in his hand, Xu Ji walked through the stone chamber shrouded in a thin mist.

This stone chamber was incredibly large, almost beyond imagination!

It could no longer be described as a room; it should be called a hall!

A massive stone hall built underground or in a mountain!

Along the way, he saw various magical treasures displayed on jade pedestals.

The sight seemed to stretch endlessly!

Each treasure emitted a light that Xu Ji found hard to believe.

The light flowed, and threads of radiance spilled out.

As Xu Ji looked, he felt as if he were in a magnificent future sci-fi world.

The flowing light from these treasures.

It was like a protective shield, full of mystery and wonder, dazzling to the eye!

Xu Ji walked and paused, occasionally picking up a treasure and then putting it down.

At this moment, he picked up a treasure that resembled a rope.

He gently rubbed it for a while and carefully examined it.

In the end, he could only put it down because he had no idea how to use it.

This feeling made him uncomfortable.

It was like being transported to become Shunosuke, looking at Gakki, but only able to say: "Baka ya ro" in an awkward and uncomfortable way.

Xu Ji continued forward, and the mist gradually dissipated ahead.

A large, egg-sized green gemstone was placed on a jade plate not far away.

It seemed to sense his arrival.

The gemstone lit up on its own, emitting a blue-green radiance.

Instantly, the entire stone chamber was bathed in a blue-green light.

Even the mist was illuminated as if it were a clear sky.

From within the gemstone, threads of green gas emerged, like raindrops falling from the eaves of a house.

"Such a treasure!" Xu Ji was stunned.

He couldn't help but move closer.

When he got close, Xu Ji realized that the jade plate holding the gemstone was placed on the back of a jade-carved divine ox.

The jade ox lay on the ground, eyes closed, as if in a deep sleep.

The light from the gemstone on the jade plate illuminated the surroundings.

In the blue-green radiance, a stone stele carved with countless ancient and mysterious characters stood quietly.

Xu Ji stood before the stele, looking at the characters for a long time, but he couldn't recognize a single one. Yet, he felt that he should know these characters, and his subconscious told him that they were names.

After about ten minutes, Xu Ji finally gave up and was about to leave when he noticed a cylindrical object beside the stele.

"Ah!" Xu Ji exclaimed, unable to resist squatting down to examine it closely.

It looked simple and unremarkable.

"This thing... seems to be a musical instrument?" Xu Ji touched it.

Under the blue-green light, the object's shape and contours became clear.

Indeed, it was a musical instrument!

The evidence was: inside the cylinder was a simple-looking forked board, either wooden or bamboo.

This piqued Xu Ji's interest.

In the stone chamber, he had seen countless treasures on his journey.

There were knives, swords, gourds, scrolls, and other conventional forms of magical treasures.

There were also banners that looked intimidating.

And there were pearls, ropes, and mirrors.

But no matter what type of treasure, he neither knew how to use them nor their purpose!

But this musical instrument...

Even if he hadn't eaten pork, he had at least seen pigs run!

He could try striking it randomly and see what happens!

Naturally, Xu Ji was immediately delighted.

He reached out to grab the treasure, and at that moment, he noticed that the treasure was bound to the stele by countless invisible shackles.

When he extended his hand to pick it up,

With a rustle, the shackles dissipated, and a wooden lock fell to the ground.

The symbols on the stele began to light up, one by one, row by row, like data loading on a computer.

On the edges of the stele, green lotus leaf patterns slowly appeared.

Unfortunately, he couldn't understand them.

But he realized that he had inadvertently opened some kind of seal left by the old monster?

But...

What kind of power was it?

Xu Ji didn't know and didn't understand.

Holding the musical instrument, Xu Ji examined it thoroughly.

He found that it didn't have the appearance of a magical treasure.

It didn't emit a flowing light like the treasures in the mist, and there were no unusual phenomena when he held it.

This musical instrument seemed to be just a musical instrument.

It appeared to be an ordinary instrument once beloved by the old monster.

But...

Why did the old monster place it here, in front of the stele?

And...

Xu Ji turned to look at the bright gemstone on the jade plate carried by the jade ox.

The blue-green radiance illuminated the mist in the stone chamber.

Countless auspicious lights appeared, and in the mist, lotus leaves quietly unfolded, their shadows faintly visible.

The treasures, under the light of the lotus leaves,

do!

Do!

Do!

Do!
