Chapter 90

After conquering the ninth floor, I took a nap and finished resting, then made the final adjustments for the tenth floor.

The adjustments were simple: just the allocation of SP. Before conquering the ninth floor, I had upgraded Kongo Power from level 7 to level 8 and Gale from level 7 to level 9. Combining the leftover SP from that and the SP gained from the ninth floor, I now have 12,510 SP remaining. The question is which skill level to upgrade with this SP.

My eyes suddenly caught one of the skills listed.

--------------------------------------------

Dungeon Teleportation LV18 → LV19 (Required SP: 4500)

--------------------------------------------

"Dungeon Teleportation, huh..."

If the trend continues, the SP required to upgrade this skill from level 19 to level 20 should be 5000. Using 9500 SP to upgrade it to level 19 is possible right now.

But I shook my head.

"No, just because I upgrade it to level 20 doesn't mean it will necessarily evolve to be useful in battle. I'll save that excitement for after the conquest. For now, I'll focus on this."

I upgraded Kongo Power to level 9 and Gale to level 10. Then, with the remaining 3010 SP, I upgraded the Magic Power Increase skill from level 5 to level 7.

Now I'm fully prepared.

"Alright, the final floor. Let's go with a clear mind."

After that, I informed the system of my intention to challenge the tenth floor, and soon the teleportation magic was activated.

When I opened my eyes, an endless wasteland spread before me. The sky was covered in dark clouds, and the dense magical energy in the air stung my skin. The space gave an impression as if I were glimpsing the depths of hell.

In the center of that space, a beast sat enthroned.

The beast, with limbs like black armor, towered as tall as an Orc General, and its total length was nearly double that. Its muscles, bulging like they were bound by thick ropes, proudly proclaimed its presence. Its fangs and claws, capable of piercing and tearing through steel, and its massive tail, which could warp the earth with a single swing, were formidable. Most of all, its yellow, sharp eyes, filled with a powerful will despite being a monster, stared at me.

"GAHAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

When the beast let out a roar, multiple bolts of lightning fell from the sky, scorching the earth. It was an incredibly surreal scene.

Then, the system sound echoed in my head.

"The quest for the tenth floor is [King of Thunder]. Please defeat the single Thunder Beast."

Hearing that, I used the appraisal skill on the beast.

--------------------------------------------

[Thunder Beast]

--------------------------------------------

It was a very simple and utterly hopeless piece of information.

"Hah, I see. So the final battle is a straightforward, no-holds-barred confrontation. Fine, I'll do it."

I readied my unnamed sword and stared at the Thunder Beast. Then, I declared boldly.

"Let's do this, unnamed sword—this is the final battle."

Thus, the last battle within the isolated magic tower, where everything was at stake, began.
