Following A-Yi’s explanation, all the 100 players in the solo competition entered the queuing map.
Wen Xi could sense the huge scale of this competition just from through the screen—there were 100 professional players on the scene, with every person in their own small cubicle. If someone didn’t know what was going on, they would think that they had entered a luxurious Internet cafe.
[They’re on the plane now!]
Just before Bunny Ji exclaimed this sentence, the livestream’s view changed from a bird’s eye perspective to that of a player’s.
“We can see that the director is currently showing Cat’s perspective,” A-Yi commented, “The two CLM players in this game are Mac and Kitty Cat. Kitty should be CLM’s youngest official player?”
“Yes, I heard he just celebrated his 18th birthday,” Bunny Ji replied.
Kitty Cat, or Ling Shuyi.
After Wen Xi had searched for all the information on CLM, he had been left with a deep impression on this person. Some of his operations were amazing, and his reaction speed was incredible. However, he made numerous mistakes and his development was very unstable.
When he was strong, he could take on 10 people all by himself. But when he was weak, he would turn into a lootbox upon landing.
He hadn’t expected that CLM would send him to participate in the solo competition.
Just after having this thought, Ling Shuyi jumped off the plane before it had even fully appeared over the map.
Wen Xi was stunned for a moment. He only thought to look at the map after Ling Shuyi had jumped—the southernmost region was the desert area.
Wen Xi didn’t quite understand why Ling Shuyi had jumped into the desert area, and the commentators were also clearly puzzled.
Rabbit Ji said, “Hm? Kitty jumped so early?”
A-Yi added, “Maybe he made a poor decision ba? Kitty is good with complex terrain, and usually jumps to Area C and Area F. Jumping to Area D… Of course, it may be that he wanted to land early in order to seize the initiative.”
Wen Xi remembered that Blue Wolf liked to jump to the desert area very much, because that way he could land quickly and finish off the enemies still in the air, all in one breath.
However, this method could only create a bloodbath when used in the rookie concentration camp. Blue Wolf had previously told Wen Xi that he didn’t dare to jump to the desert area while playing in the overseas servers because he would be surrounded by enemies who landed faster than him.
However, this match was a bit peculiar because the desert area was at the southernmost point of the map. Since Ling Shuyi had been the first to jump, no one knew whether he had made a mistake or had done it on purpose.
After he jumped, six more players jumped into the desert area. The director changed the perspective, only to see that the six players were from small, relatively unknown teams, so the casters just read out the contestant’s IDs and didn’t add any further introductions.
All of the players’ IDs followed the same format: team name-professional name.
For example, Mo Chen’s ID was CLM-Mac.
Wen Xi then remembered his current ID: JJ-Wency
He suddenly felt that it seemed rather professional?
Just as he had that thought, the camera circled around and showed Mac.
At that moment, a startling scream broke out at the scene, which startled the casters.
Bunny Ji exclaimed, “Mac is so popular ah!”
A-Yi said, “I don’t know where Mac will jump to this match? He seems to have jumped to every area before?”
Bunny Ji said, “But Mac often seems to fight the most in Area C ba?”
As soon as she spoke, the plane flew over Area C, which was the city area.
The city’s terrain was very complex for this match. Instead of abandoned buildings, it would be more appropriate to call them the ruins of a city.
There were collapsed buildings, broken windows, and destruction everywhere you looked. If someone didn’t know that this was one of SGH’s maps, they might have thought that it was the end of the world.
As soon as they arrived at Area C, the players on the plane started jumping out one by one. It was apparent that most of the players were better at playing in this area.
Wen Xi was as well.
After all, the more complex the terrain, the more able the players would be to show off their comprehensive strength.
On the other hand, simpler terrain would result in more unavoidable face-to-face shootouts. For professional players, this situation demanded more courage and stable nerves from them, rather than just pure skill.
At this time, the camera was still showing Mo Chen’s perspective. Then, while the casters speculated that he might not jump to Area C, he jumped.
“Mac jumped!” A-Yi exclaimed, unable to believe his eyes, “After more than 20 players already jumped to Area C, Mac still unhesitatingly jumped too!”
“My God! Isn’t this too risky ba?” Bunny Ji said, “Solo matches are different from squad matches since there are no teammates to provide cover fire. From among the 100 players on the field, 99 are all your enemies. Since he has jumped so late, won’t he be shot into a sieve in midair before he can even land?!”
“No, he’s aiming for the tallest building!” A-Yi quickly noticed the building in the center of Mo Chen’s perspective.
That building had more than 20 floors, and could be regarded as the highest point on the whole map.
If you land on that building, there was a possibility that you could be the first to land.
However, Bunny Ji quickly noticed something else. “A-Yi, did you notice that after Mac jumped, no one else jumped to Area C?”
“Hahaha, really?” While A-Yi was talking, the screen changed to a bird’s eye view of the game.
After Mo Chen jumped, the other players seemed to have reached a shared consensus, and no one else jumped to Area C.
Sitting in front of the computer, the corners of Wen Xi’s mouth gradually turned up.
He obviously hadn’t seen Mo Chen take action yet, but it already felt as though he had already slaughtered his way across the map and established his strength.
He hated the fact that the director couldn’t focus the camera on Mo Chen all the time, which was obviously impossible.
As the airplane kept flying, the players continued to jump off the plane, scattering to various locations around the map.
“YEY’s team captain has jumped to Area F!” A-Yi said, “CC, the team captain of MQ, has also jumped there!”
“Wow, it seems that the fighting in Area F will be very fierce this match ah!”
As soon as Bunny Ji spoke, a kill prompt appeared in the upper right corner of the screen, and the number of survivors changed from 100 to 99.
“Cat!” she immediately called out the ID that appeared in the upper right corner, “CLM team’s Kitty Cat has grabbed the first kill!”
“Cat is really worthy of his reputation!” A-Yi also exclaimed, “This is the first time he has participated in the professional league, so some members of the audience may not be familiar with him. He is a clever player, and his reflexes are so quick that he may even be able to evade bullets that have already been fired. I think he has great potential, and will definitely be keeping an eye on him!”
Bunny Ji added, “Yes! I saw his performance in the summer competition, and I think that he is definitely the most brilliant new star in the professional league!”
She had just spoken when…
[QAQ-Bunny killed CLM-Cat with an assault rifle. The remaining number of survivors is 98.]
A-Yi: ….
Bunny Ji: …..
Wen Xi could count as someone who has seen the term “ poisonous milk” in action today.
Immediately turning into a lootbox just after being praised, this was very embarrassing…
Fortunately, both casters responded quickly.
A-Yi said, “…It’s a pity that Cat’s performance is not very stable, and he had also turned into a lootbox just after landing in the summer competition in August.”
Bunny Ji commented, “One of the CLM players has left the field early with only one kill. The pressure on MAC has instantly increased…”
After dying in the game, the players had to leave the scene and go to the lounge located backstage.
The camera showed Ling Shuyi on the competition stage, and you could see that his facial features were still immature. He took off his earphones with an annoyed expression, getting up and leaving quickly.
Wen Xi looked at his back as he walked away and pursed his lower lip. He didn’t know how to evaluate him.
The players on the CLM team, including Ling Shuyi, weren’t exactly weak, but were also strong only to a certain extent. If you had to choose this team’s strongest players, then Mo Chen was really the only one who counted as strong in CLM.
Ever since he had read Mo Chen’s profile, Wen Xi had kept wondering why Mo Chen didn’t move to other teams, such as YEY or MQ.
YEY’s team captain Lightning and MQ’s team captain CC were obviously superior in strength when compared to the other members of the CLM team.
However, recalling that Mo Chen was one of the founders of the CLM team, Wen Xi could also understand why he stayed.
While he was still distracted, Mac’s ID suddenly appeared in the upper right corner!
[CLM-Mac killed QAQ-Bunny with a headshot with a sniper rifle. The remaining number of survivors is 97.]
Wen Xi froze for a moment, and after he snapped out of it, he stared with two wide eyes in complete disbelief.
The main point wasn’t that Mo Chen had finally gotten a kill, but that the person he had just killed—wasn’t it the one who had killed Ling Shuyi just a moment ago?!
Mo Chen was in Area C, and his victim was in Area D. The distance between him and his target was at least 800 meters. It didn’t matter whether he used a 4x scope or an 8x scope, it would be difficult to even see the target, let alone achieve a headshot. So how exactly did he do it?!
Wen Xi opened the barrage to investigate, and sure enough, everyone was just as shocked as he was.
[WTF! How did he do that?!]
[AHHH TOO AWESOME!]
[Your daddy is still your daddy!]
When Wen Xi had started watching the livestream, he had blocked the barrage since a lot of people were cursing out Mac. Yet, right now, if the barrage wasn’t messaging, “Mac is awesome!”, then they were messaging, “The number one sharpshooter god is awesome!”
The casters were also obviously surprised by this sudden kill prompt.
“Let’s watch the replay from Mac’s POV!” A-Yi exclaimed, unable to hide his excitement. “Looking at the timestamp, we can see that Mac was still aiming at the people on the mountain a minute ago. It seems that he had intended to take their heads in order to maintain his advantage on the high ground… Right there! His perspective shifted! Just as Cat’s ID appeared in the upper right corner of the screen, Mac suddenly aimed towards Bunny’s position! A headshot!”
Mo Chen had originally equipped his sniper rifle with an 8x scope to shoot at the enemies on the mountains, so he didn’t have to waste time swapping weapons and equipping the scope again before killing Bunny.
However, he was able to accurately shift his sight to Bunny, shoot instantly, and even have it be a headshot. The audience was wholeheartedly amazed by his performance, and the competition scene filled with cheers and applause!
“Mac is really… This is the kind of strength that usually only a botter could possess. I’m breaking out in goosebumps just by watching him!” Bunny Ji declared.
“He’s really amazing!” A-Yi agreed. “We all know that Mac has sharp hearing, but it’s really difficult to hear what direction a sound is coming from when there is that much distance.”
Bunny Ji said, “You can tell that he had originally intended to kill everyone on the mountain first, but after seeing the notification that Cat had been killed, he immediately chose to avenge his teammate. How moving!”
Just after he had sent [Mac is so hot! I’m swooning!] in the barrage, Wen Xi heard Bunny Ji speak and was slightly stunned.
Killing whoever kills his teammates—how familiar was this response?
Wen Xi suddenly recalled that whenever Mo Chen had teamed up with him, anyone who hurt him had been killed by Mo Chen.
It felt pretty cool to be so thoroughly protected.
He didn’t expect Mo Chen to be just as concerned about his teammates, even in solo matches, while playing in the professional league.
Wen Xi couldn’t help but imagine what it would be like to play professionally with Mo Chen. By the time he snapped out of it, the corner of his lips had already irrefutably raised.
He adjusted his earphones, a little annoyed—no matter if Mo Chen was on or off the court, he was always shaking his determination of not playing professionally.
Soon, the first circle began to shrink, which was like a curse from the heavens for Mo Chen.
At the moment, Mo Chen had six kills.
Playing professionally was indeed different from bulldozing through the rookie concentration camp, and Mo Chen had to face danger head-on in order to obtain those six kills. Several of them had even been stolen from other enemies.
However, every time Mo Chen managed to steal a kill, it resulted in a game highlight.
——In the professional league, kills counted for points, so each of these six kills contributed to CLM’s total points.
As the competition progressed, Wen Xi grew increasingly nervous the more he watched.
Every time the director cut to Mac’s perspective, he would instinctively hold his breath for fear that it would affect Mo Chen’s actions.
And every time the director cut to someone else, he would frown and lay his head down in front of the computer, as if he had let 100 million yuan slip away.
It was obviously a competition with 100 people, but through Wen Xi’s gaze, it inexplicably became just a single person’s battle—Mo Chen’s battle.
Fortunately, Mo Chen didn’t let him down.
The match lasted for 29 minutes. Mo Chen ended up with 9 kills and survived to the end with an excellent performance, obtaining the highest score for this match!
“Ahhhhhhhh, let’s all congratulate Mac!” The caster exclaimed, raising the barrage’s excitement to its peak!
Wen Xi took off his headphones at this moment, just as excited, as though the person who had won the competition was himself.
He had to admit, the sense of pride and victory from winning first place when competing with a group of masters was something that couldn’t be obtained with money!
Wen Xi wasn’t able to fully savor the joy of victory before his cellphone rang.
Wen Xi’s heart rate suddenly sped up. As he picked up his cellphone, he completely blanked out on what he should say to Mo Chen.
However, when he took a closer look at the caller ID, he saw—Magic Xi.
Wen Xi: “….”
Alright ba. Mo Chen was still at the competition, and he didn’t have his cellphone with him, so how could he be calling him…
Wen Xi coughed and steadied his thoughts before he picked up the phone. “Hello?”
“Did you watch the game just now?!” On the other end of the phone, Magic Xi sounded very excited.
Hearing her voice, Wen Xi couldn’t help but become excited as well. “I did!”
Magic Xi asked, “What did you think?”
Wen Xi replied, “Mac is too handsome!”
Magic Xi said, “…Who asked you about that?! I was asking if you think you can provide commentary now?”

Juurensha: Ahahahaha, it seems Xixi is falling just a bit 😀
kat: lololol wen xi’s message in the barrage
Noks: Wen Xi is starting to waver, and not just about playing professionally, but emotionally as well!
