Mo Chen drove the car towards the wall. When they had nearly reached it, he yelled, “Jump!”
The other three immediately jumped out of the car and followed his orders to rush to the fence, while he turned around and drove back some distance away.
The line of fire from the high-rise building continued to chase his car, and even managed to hit the car several times, which really made others break into a sweat out of fright for him.
However, he followed it up by beautifully swinging the car around so that his car door faced the wall, and jumped out of the car and rushed behind the wall, successfully meeting up with his teammates.
Almost at the same time, the car was turned into a sieve and exploded on the spot!
The wall was very low, so even people needed to crouch to hide completely, let alone a car.
Because Mo Chen had been worried that the car would get hit and explode while they were rushing towards the wall, and had also wanted to draw the enemy’s line of fire to fight for time for his teammates to hide, he took the risk to turn the car around, before giving himself an opportunity to jump.
Fortunately, although the maneuver was alarming, it was not dangerous, and all four members of CLM were unhurt!
However…
“There’s only a minute left before the poison ring shrinks! CLM is still not in the circle yet!” Magic Xi commented. She sounded even more nervous than the four members of CLM.
After she spoke, the director quickly cut to CLM, this time showing Wen Xi’s perspective.
“They’re not far from the safe area. Will they manage to get there in time?”
As soon as Xiao Bu’s voice fell, they suddenly saw Mo Chen raise his sniper rifle from Wen Xi’s perspective. With a bang, he hit the head of the enemy on the high-rise building in a single shot, and directly knocked him down.
Mo Chen then went around the wall and ran forward, with Wen Xi following him.
After taking just a few steps, someone shot Mo Chen. Mo Chen shot back offhandedly, and managed to knock down the other person. It was pretty much a case of one shot, one hit.
Wen Xi had originally wanted to finish that person off with an arrow, but after seeing Mo Chen continue to run, he almost instinctively put down his weapon and caught up with him.
As a result, the entire audience at the scene discovered—for a long time, Wen Xi’s perspective only contained Mo Chen.
Mo Chen ran, while Wen Xi was following him. Mo Chen’s perspective switched back and forth between the door and the enemy, while Wen Xi’s perspective just had Mo Chen.
Magic Xi resisted the impulse to raise her hand and cover her eyes. After coughing, she said, “It seems that it won’t be a problem for Mac and Wency to enter the safe area. I don’t know how it’s going on Kitty’s and Windy’s side?”
After she spoke, the director cooperatively cut to Ling Shuyi’s perspective.
Ling Shuyi and Chen Wei had picked a route completely different from Mo Chen, instead going around and into another building.
Mo Chen and Wen Xi had run out first and drawn most of the enemy’s fire, so Ling Shuyi and Chen Wei didn’t suffer many attacks along the way.
They gave each other a look after entering the building. Although the characters in the game didn’t have expressive eyes, they could still see an appreciative expression in each other’s eyes.
Ling Shuyi: I now know why the captain likes Wen Xi so much.
Chen Wei: How could he not like someone who can keep up with his pace, living or dying alongside him?
One had to know that in the past, only Mo Chen would run out to draw the enemy’s fire, and while rushing in, he also would have to direct them when and where to rush to.
Mo Chen was very cold to the people around him in reality, and always emitted a cold aura screaming, “don’t you dare touch Laozi.”
However, he really doted on his teammates in the game.
As Chen Xiao watched, he couldn’t help but think of the days when he had played with Mo Chen and wasn’t any less protected by Mo Chen.
He sighed and said to Lan Yan, “Don’t blame A-Chen…”
“I won’t,” Lan Yan responded assuredly, “If I was in his position, I would certainly make the same choice as him—It’s all in order to win the championship… Chen Xiao, don’t worry about this matter anymore. When it comes down to it, it’s my business, and neither you nor Chen Wei need to worry about it.”
“That’s true,” Chen Xiao said, smiling helplessly.
It seemed that he had just been flattering himself regarding Lan Yan.
“It’s already been decided, so it’s pointless to go back and talk about it.” Lan Yan stared at the big screen, and it was unclear if these words were for Chen Xiao or for himself. “Everyone has a dream, but not everyone can achieve their dream. In order to realize your dream, talent, effort, and opportunity are all indispensable. A-Chen is more talented than me and works harder than me. I know all of this, so I can only blame myself for not striving for success.”
After a pause, and without waiting for Chen Xiao to respond, he suddenly laughed. It sounded just as natural and easy-going as usual, and his light smile gave people the feeling of a spring breeze.
“It’s my dream to win the championship, but it’s not like I only know how to play in competitions.”
Everyone’s life was full of regrets, but this didn’t prevent him from having a wonderful life.
So long as you don’t hold yourself back, there was no blow in the world that you would be unable to bear.
Chen Xiao was very moved when he heard him. He didn’t know whether to say that Lan Yan was optimistic or strong.
However, he thought about how he had also carried some regrets when he had retired, but now wasn’t he living very well?
There was nothing to be dissatisfied with.
In the end, the only person who could judge a person’s life was themselves.
Therefore, only you could make the best choice for yourself.
“Did you really decide?” Chen Xiao finally confirmed, “To transfer?”
Lan Yan let out an “en” and said, “I decided, and I don’t regret it.”
*
Wen Xi rushed into the building with Mo Chen. With Mo Chen clearing out the path in front of him, he really didn’t get hurt.
Mo Chen said, “There is a team in this building.”
Ling Shuyi responded, “Oh!”
Chen Wei said, “…The captain is talking to Wen Xi.”
Ling Shuyi: “….”
Chen Wei was having a really hard time holding back his laughter, but Ling Shuyi was speechless—It was supposed to be a squad match! Did he and Chen Wei have no human rights?!
After carelessly forgetting the existence of those two people, Mo Chen said faintly, “You guys also have a team in your building, so try not to get into a difficult gunfight. Look for opportunities to come around and meet us.”
For a moment, Ling Shuyi really wanted to reply with, “No need, thank you,” but in the end, he didn’t dare say that and instead let out a depressed “Oh.”
He and Chen Wei passed through the corridor before finding one of the building’s other entrances. After confirming that no one had noticed them, they rushed into Mo Chen’s building as fast as possible.
However, as soon as they made it in, they heard a gunshot.
[System] CLM-Mac knocked down QAQ-Sugar with a headshot with an assault rifle.
[System] CLM-Wency killed QAQ-Sugar with a headshot with a bow.
“Go upstairs.” After Mo Chen finished shooting, he turned to go upstairs, confident that Wen Xi would be able to finish off the other party.
Wen Xi didn’t disappoint him. After finishing off QAQ team’s Sugar, he immediately followed Mo Chen upstairs, where they let out a burst of gunfire.
[System] CLM-Mac knocked down QAQ-Mice with a headshot with an assault rifle.
[System] CLM-Wency killed QAQ-Mice with a headshot with a bow.
The two of them rushed all the way up as easily as if they had just been walking on flat ground.
Ling Shuyi and Chen Wei who were still on the first floor: “…”
Was there any need for them to go up anymore?
The four members of QAQ were more scattered. After Mo Chen and Wen Xi had killed three of them, no matter how long they searched, they couldn’t find QAQ’s last member, their team captain Bunny.
They searched up and down the building until they had circled back around, but still hadn’t seen anyone. It was only then that they were sure that he had escaped.
“Using his teammates as a shield,” Mo Chen sneered.
Ling Shuyi spoke up timidly, “Do we still need to come up…”
Mo Chen said, “Come up and loot, and remember to take more first-aid kits.” After a pause, he continued, “Wen Xi and I will go over to the other building.”
Wen Xi replied, “Okay.”
Ling Shuyi & Chen Wei: ….
Did they dare say that the two of them had only come over to observe the aftermath?
However, although the two of them complained a bit in their hearts, they weren’t about to grumble about it out loud—This was just how team matches were. Everyone would work together while splitting up the tasks. Everyone’s role was different, so of course they’d act differently as well.
Mo Chen and Wen Xi had high headshot rates and were effective at killing the enemy, so they went to the frontlines to kill.
Ling Shuyi and Chen Wei were more sensitive to movements in their surroundings and could detect danger quickly, so they would investigate, serve as sentry, and loot bodies.
Of course, Ling Shuyi and Chen Wei’s roles were also different.
Ling Shuyi’s advantage lay in his reaction speed. Even if he couldn’t discover an enemy in advance, he could react quickly after the enemy attacked him and kill the enemy with a counterattack.
So, more often than not, he played the roles of scout and assault.
Chen Wei’s advantage lay in his game consciousness and concealment ability. Even if the enemy was silent, he could discover their existence and avoid them.
At first, some people thought that he had a sixth sense. Later, they found out that he was just purely paranoid…
——The places he bypassed weren’t always hiding people.
Therefore, when his teammates were still alive, Chen Wei played more of a support role, such as looting bodies and memorizing the enemy’s numbers and positions while landing in order to report their coordinates to his teammates.
And once his teammates all died off, Chen Wei would begin to act out his hidden role—Conflict avoider! A diehard conflict avoider!
One couldn’t underestimate Chen Wei’s “conflict avoidance.” He had actually won first place with zero kills in a game before.
He hadn’t taken a single kill, but had still managed to get into the final circle from sheer conflict avoidance. His opponents had been unable to find him no matter how hard they searched, and could only compete with him at applying medicine when the poison circle closed in, and be dragged down into death with him….
If it wasn’t for the professional league determining points from both kills and rank, with kills being worth a large number of points, CLM’s main force would have been by now replaced.
CLM’s four people swept through the city in a circle, killing a full three teams. However, they still hadn’t found QAQ’s team captain Bunny.
Only those with a God’s perspective and the audience knew—early on, when Bunny’s teammates had had the misfortune of encountering CLM, Bunny had flipped out of the window and crawled down the pipe to escape. He was now secretly watching YEEY and JY fighting in the forest area.
“Does this QAQ have a commander or not?” one of the audience members couldn’t hold back from complaining, “It’s clear that none of them were weak, but they became such a mess after fighting…”
Chen Xiao shrugged after hearing this—Heh, they really didn’t have one.
QAQ had just been established. They gave people the feeling of a group of clueless young people who suddenly met each other, suddenly built a team, and suddenly started playing professionally.
Chen Xiao didn’t know why they didn’t join an existing team and instead created their own, but he thought that this group of people had potential.
Although they currently gave people a feeling of a plate of scattered sand, who knew how they would develop in the future.
Soon, the fourth circle was refreshed, and the safe area had completely retreated into the forest area.
At this time, there were numerous casualties on the field. There weren’t even 20 people left, and almost all of them died on the road while racing the poison circle.
YEEY and JY had fought once in the middle of the forest and lost two members each. Now, they had completely strategically retreated, with one in the North and the other in the South.
They deliberately camped right by the edge of the poison circle and threw a large number of people into a pit, including Bunny, QAQ’s captain—He had failed to make it into the finals even after losing all his teammates.
At the moment, CLM’s team of four were trying to circle in from the East.
“Our luck this match has been pretty bad ah. We’ve been racing the poison circle this entire time.” Chen Wei couldn’t help sighing before asking, “Are there people trying to pit us up ahead?”
Almost at the same time, they all raised their sniper rifles aimed at the area in front of them.
Ling Shuyi said, “It doesn’t seem like anyone’s there.”
Mo Chen said, “Wait, there’s gunfire at 11 o’clock.”
As Mo Chen spoke, he swung his sniper rifle in that direction, catching sight and aiming at two people from JY.
They were crouching in a tree with their bodies blocked by the trunk, and only the muzzle of their guns showing.
Obviously, the two members of JY had realized that CLM would attack from the East, so they had hid very well—Mo Chen couldn’t shoot them from his position.
If it had been before, Mo Chen would certainly have given up these two kills, and instead choose to advance further into the circle before seeing what could be done.
But now, he had Wen Xi.
Thinking until this point, the lower corner of Mo Chen’s lip couldn’t help but quirk up and he said, “Wen Xi, shoot them.”
“En,” Wen Xi responded obediently. After confirming the two people’s positions with his sniper rifle, he equipped his bow and pulled up the angle of view, pointing up until his field of vision was almost filled by the blue sky and white clouds.
Before he had even shot the arrow, Ling Shuyi and Chen Wei already were gaping at him.
Ling Shuyi: This distance?!
Chen Wei: This angle?!
——Are you sure you can hit them?!
Then, under their “are you teasing us” gazes, Wen Xi very shot the arrow confidently.
The slender arrow let out a “shhppt” sound as it flew into the sky, and descended over the top of the tree.
From such a far distance, they couldn’t see where the arrow had landed at all, but the system’s prompts wouldn’t deceive people.
[System] CLM-Wency knocked down JY-Lex with a headshot with a bow.
[System] JY-Lex was killed by fall damage.
Ling Shuyi & Chen Wei: !!!
If a player had been attacked by another player within 10 seconds of an “accidental death” and the player who attacked them was still alive, then the kill would belong to that player.
——The number of kills in Wen Xi’s hand was originally 8, but now it was 9!
Ling Shuyi exclaimed, “Holy shit!”
Chen Wei yelled, “Awesome!”
The two of them couldn’t help exclaiming. Just after they finished yelling, JY team’s last wolf turned his gun on them, trying to avenge his teammate.
However, as soon as he showed his head, Mo Chen headshotted him!
[System] CLM-Mac knocked down JY-Gunning with a headshot with a sniper rifle.
[System] JY-Gunning was killed by fall damage.
At this point, the JY team had been completely destroyed!
This scene was replayed on the big screen, and Xiao Bu almost bit his tongue several times during his commentary, “CLM team’s Wency actually shot an arrow towards the top of the tree, and made it fall straight down! It was impossible to defend against! JY’s captain Lex couldn’t take any precautions, he truly couldn’t take any precautions at all before being shot out of the tree!”
Magic Xi added, “Gunning had immediately realized which direction the arrow had came from so he turned a bit, but he didn’t expect to be shot by Mac after just showing his head!”
Between Wen Xi and Mo Chen’s maneuvers, it was impossible to say whose was sexier.
The former killed the enemy from an impossible angle, while the latter headshotted the enemy in an instant.
The audience was completely stunned.
If you stood on the field and looked at the audience, you would find that everyone’s expression at the moment was surprisingly consistent, full of both wonder and amusement.
“……Does this still count as human?” It took a long time for someone to find their voice.
“Fuck, they are really two walking bots!”
“CLM is too ridiculously strong ba? If they’re like this, how can other teams fight against them?”
“CLM will no doubt be the champion!”
Chen Xiao listened to the audience’s comments and couldn’t help laughing.
At this moment, he deeply felt that their team had already become different from before.
In the past, one plus three was less than two, but now two plus two was greater than four.
After Wen Xi came, he didn’t just add an excellent player with outstanding personal strength to the team, but complemented Mo Chen’s strengths, allowing him to use them to the extreme!
With the previous CLM, Mo Chen would knock someone down, but no one could finish them off, so they couldn’t take the kill. In the face of hidden enemies, no one could help him draw them out.
But now, with Wen Xi, as long as Mo Chen could knock an enemy down, Wen Xi could take the kill. When they encountered hidden enemies, Wen Xi’s bow could force people out from all kinds of seemingly inconceivable angles. As long as they could be forced out, Mo Chen could definitely seize the opportunity to kill them!
CLM didn’t have many kills this match because they had jumped too late, and to a remote location, and had to race against the poison the entire time. They had even less total kills than that of JY that they had just killed.
However, Mo Chen was playing happily, and the more he played, the happier he became—This was the kind of competition he’d wanted to play all along ah.
Only god knew how long he had been waiting for this day!
After they killed off all of JY, all the CLM members entered the circle smoothly.
Wen Xi couldn’t help saying, “So powerful.”
Mo Chen laughed and said, “It was you who was powerful.”
Wen Xi replied, “Not as powerful as you la…”
Mo Chen said, “Don’t be modest. You are far more powerful than you think.”
Fuck! Ling Shuyi rolled his eyes and tried to resist the impulse to bite off his headphone’s cord.
The corner of Chen Wei’s lips twitched, and he said, “Alright, alright, both of you are powerful! Let’s all focus on playing the game and stop talking shop and mutually praising each other, okay?”
Chen Wei was usually the team’s jokester who was often reminded by his teammates to “focus on the game” whenever he went overboard, but who would have thought that one day he would remind his teammates to “focus on the game”…
However, to be reasonable, although Mo Chen and Wen Xi had spent the match virtually scattering dog food everywhere and disgusting their teammates, whenever they needed to perform well, they did. Any random gun or arrow shot could be material for an amazing montage.
Soon, the fifth circle refreshed and the safe area shrank again, forcing the rest of the people together.
At this time, it was Ling Shuyi’s turn to perform.
He walked at the very front, investigating the scene. Once he found people, he would carry his assault rifle and rush up with a barrage of tututu!
Ling Shuyi had never wussed out from head-on gun battles! Rather, he enjoyed the thrill of “either you die or I die!”
With his god-like teammates behind him, Ling Shuyi didn’t have any worries, so he performed more boldly than usual. One member of their team had just killed an entire team, and Ling Shuyi carried their momentum forward by helping CLM get another three kills!
There were now only six players left in this squad match—besides the four from CLM, there were only two from YEEY.
Even though it was only the fifth circle, it was obvious that this would be the final round.
One of YEEY’s people first threw two grenades at CLM, and the four dodged in two different directions. Then, one person threw a grenade back at them, and successfully killed one person!
“There’s only one left! I’ll go, I’ll go! ” Ling Shuyi exclaimed excitedly, carrying an assault rifle to rush over. However, it turned out that the other party still hadn’t given up yet, and he threw out a smoke grenade and hid in it.
Ling Shuyi’s vision was limited, so he shot around blindly, but he didn’t actually hit the enemy.
“Throw a grenade! Are there any more grenades, quickly throw a grenade!” Chen Wei cried out anxiously, and not waiting for Ling Shuyi to throw a grenade, he first threw one into the smoke.
[System] CLM-Windy killed CLM-Cat with a frag grenade.
[System] CLM-Windy killed YEEY-Anny with a frag grenade.
[System] YOU WIN
Win!
CLM team won!
However….
“Crap! Chen Wei, you bastard. You’ll feel bad all over if you don’t kill me, is that it?!” Ling Shuyi felt uncontrollably distressed. He had thought that after great efforts, he could finally live until the very end, but as a result?!
Chen Wei coughed, and also felt a little sorry for Ling Shuyi as he said, “I just wanted to kill the enemy…”
“Hahahahaha!” Commentator Xiao Bu was laughing so hard that his stomach hurt. “The usual outcome!”
“There’s nothing wrong with the usual outcome!” Magic Xi also didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She hadn’t expected that the last scene would be this hilarious. “Kitty really died by his teammates hands in every match today ah…”
Ling Shuyi was very aggrieved—Don’t abuse small animals like this!
Later, when the SGH officials released this week’s clip, he discovered he was actually included.
However, Mo Chen and Wen Xi were in a “highlights clip”, while he was a “stupidly funny clip”….
*
Just like in the morning, there was a 10 minute break between the two squad matches in the afternoon.
Chen Wei couldn’t hold it in any longer and asked, “Can I make a small suggestion?”
He spoke while looking at Mo Chen, but Mo Chen didn’t even turn his head before replying, “No.”
Chen Wei pretended not to hear him and continued, “It’s just, can you guys not be so intimate during the competition? It really affects my performance!”
“That’s right!” Ling Shuyi echoed, “It doesn’t matter during an informal competition, but the official competitions are recorded. If you guys still act like this, then what if the recording is released…”
“So what if it’s released?” Mo Chen didn’t care and said, “Did I play poorly, or did Wen Xi play poorly?”
This…who would dare to answer this question?
“Or did we both play poorly?”
Mo Chen soulfully asked, rendering Ling Shuyi speechless.
In the end, Chen Wei sighed and hooked an arm around Ling Shuyi’s neck. “Forget it, forget it, isn’t it just a disgusting couple? Who can’t do that… Kitty, let’s show off our love to them next match!”
Ling Shuyi slapped him across the face and exclaimed, “Scram! If you kill me next match, I’m going to thank the heavens and the Earth!”
—
Juurensha: Hahahaha poor Kitty, such Kitty abuse…. So I feel like I should say that slight spoiler alert: CLM has other gay (or bi) members besides Wen Xi and Mo Chen.
