Chapter 78.2: “Ji Lin, I found the key evidence!”

After listening, Ji Lin frowned and did not immediately express his opinion. He pondered for a moment before continuing, “There is indeed a possibility, because Tian Mu rarely goes out and only went to the gym a few times before. At that time, Xie Miao had someone follow and pay attention to his whereabouts, and even followed him to the entrance of the gym, but didn’t follow him in.”

“Was it because they thought it was normal for Tian Muping to wear sportswear and sports shoes and go to the gym, so they didn’t follow him in?” asked Bai DuanDuan.

Ji Lin shook his head. “No, the person Xie Miao hired was a private detective, and he was very professional. In legal circumstances, he would not stop following just because he thought the subject’s behavior was normal. The main reason why he didn’t follow was that Tian Mu went to the Aegis Fitness Club.”

As soon as Ji Lin mentioned Aegis, Bai DuanDuan understood. It was a high-end gym that advertised its customer safety protection and personalized fitness programs. The annual fee was expensive, and the price of personal training courses was even more luxurious. However, they did indeed have good safety measures for their members. Each gym area was equipped with professional staff and emergency personnel. If a member had a health condition during exercise, they would immediately receive professional assistance to eliminate any risks during their workout.

On the other hand, the access control of this gym is also very strict. Unlike other gyms, Aegis must ensure that only members themselves can enter and non-members are strictly prohibited from entering with them. In addition, members need to swipe their cards again to enter different areas within the gym. Therefore, unlike most gyms where there is often chaos, the expensive annual fee has filtered out most ordinary people.

One of Aegis’ selling points is that many of their personal trainers are celebrities, and even now, there are still many third or fourth-tier celebrities who frequent the gym. To ensure client privacy, Aegis provides one-on-one training rooms. In order to provide the most attentive service to their members, Aegis’ slogan is that all staff members can recognize each member and call them by their name, creating a feeling of being at home for each member while they workout.

It is unlikely that Xie Miao’s team didn’t follow up with Aegis out of negligence but because of Aegis’ strict access control system.

“But now that I’ve heard your analysis, I do think it’s possible that two people met at the gym. The problem is, based on the video evidence provided by Xie Miao, the only thing we can prove is that Tian Mu is a member of Aegis. We can’t confirm whether Lu Shuisheng is a member or not. Aegis protects member information very strictly, and the boss has some connections and background, so it’s impossible for us to access relevant member information. Even if we rely on an investigation order from the arbitration committee, it may not be feasible because everything you’ve analyzed so far is based on your speculation, and we don’t even know if Lu Shuisheng is a member. Asking for an investigation order is too much, and it may even violate the privacy of others. The gym can reasonably refuse, and neither the arbitration committee nor the court will issue any investigation order for us. Unless we can first prove that Lu Shuisheng is indeed a member of the gym, it will be possible to obtain an investigation order.”

“Who said we need to rely on an investigation order?” Bai DuanDuan laughed. “Let’s go, we’ll confirm my idea first. Whether Lu Shuisheng is a member of this gym or not, we’ll figure it out. Once we prove that, we can discuss the next steps.”

Ji Lin was still a little confused, but Bai DuanDuan grabbed him and took him downstairs.

_______

The Aegis Fitness Club is not far from Sheng Lin. After a while, Bai Duan Duan and Ji Lin arrived at the door of the club. At this moment, it was the end of work time, and people were already exercising in the gym. Ji Lin looked puzzled the whole way, and frowned at Bai Duan Duan.

Bai Duan Duan was confident: “I guarantee that we don’t need a search warrant, but we do need to spend some money.” She glanced at Ji Lin, “But you don’t have to reimburse me. I wanted to exercise anyway.”

Now, she wished she could eat three meals a day at Ji Lin’s house. His cooking was so delicious that Bai Duan Duan’s weight had risen rapidly, and even her coat from last year was getting too small. Bai Duan Duan had already decided that it was time to exercise to control her weight…

But even though she didn’t say anything, Ji Lin quickly understood her thoughts. He pursed his lips and looked at Bai Duan Duan, not quite agreeing: “I don’t think you’re fat. You’re just right.”

Okay, maybe love is blind…

Bai Duan Duan didn’t mind and just smiled: “It’s not really about losing weight. Just think of it as me building muscle. It’s never wrong to exercise, right?”

After speaking, she adjusted the miniature camera attached to her chest and instructed Ji Lin, “Did you turn on the voice recorder?”

After getting Ji Lin’s affirmative reply, she led him into the reception area of the Aegis Fitness Club.

_______

The upscale fitness club is indeed very impressive. If Bai DuanDuan and Ji Lin didn’t know that this is actually a gym, just by looking at the reception area’s decoration style, Bai DuanDuan would even think that this is a high-end business club. The front desk staff are all dressed in stylish suits and greet Bai DuanDuan and Ji Lin with a smile.

“May I help you?” the staff asked.

Bai DuanDuan didn’t beat around the bush and said, “I want to apply for a gym membership.”

As soon as they heard there was business, the staff became even more enthusiastic. They introduced several types of gym memberships and their privileges and fees in a very professional and detailed manner. “We are currently celebrating our anniversary and have a great discount offer. For the price of one year’s membership fee, you can get two years’ worth of membership. If you can’t come to the gym for some time, you can inform us and we can suspend your membership for up to six months. This means that you can get two and a half years of membership with just one year’s fee…”

Bai DuanDuan pretended to listen carefully, asked a few questions, then pulled Ji Lin aside to discuss and consider before returning to the staff and saying, “Okay, then I’ll get a two-year membership for now.”

Although Aegis is a high-end gym, the customer competition within the fitness industry is actually very fierce these days. There are many budget gyms with good environments and high cost performance, and those who can afford Aegis’ prices are few. Although Aegis made a lot of money in the first year by providing differentiated services, it has become increasingly difficult to promote and expand its business. Besides, rich people are not fools. Usually, these employees have to talk until they’re blue in the face to barely make a deal. Seeing how easily Bai DuanDuan signed the contract and her man quickly paid, the employee couldn’t be happier.

If every customer was as worry-free as this beautiful one, the employee’s job would be much easier.

The employee was a young girl who couldn’t help but envy Bai DuanDuan when she saw her and her handsome boyfriend. She thought, not only is this customer beautiful, but her boyfriend is also so handsome and generous. The membership fee at Aegis Fitness is so expensive, but she didn’t even blink when she paid….

It’s really frustrating to compare yourself with others.
