Wu Yan would never know why he’s called ‘Wu Yan’. Ever since he was dumped into that orphanage, the only link that he had to his previous life was this name. Yet, he wasn’t a solemn and quiet boy. In fact, he could be labelled as ‘generous’ and ‘outgoing’. He was able to have fun and be rowdy with just about anyone. He was able to speak freely, speak as his heart desired, no matter where he was.

The year when he turned 18, the orphanage where he lived declared bankruptcy. Wu Yan, who had stepped into the life of an adult, packed his bags and entered society, feeling the cruelty that the world offered in advance.

Difficulty and suffering were unable to knock down Wu Yan’s strong and tenacious spirit. He worked as he studied and had never made mistakes in either one. Should he be called “lucky” or “capable”? Wu Yan smiled silently towards his classmates’ inquiries.

A year later, Wu Yan got accepted into a university that was very far from his hometown. He packed up his originally small and pathetic basement. Wu Yan then left this city for good.

C City’s university was nationally-famous. Lots of rich families would send their children there to receive education. The classmates, who were arrogant since young, were different from the classmates Wu Yan previously made friends with. Not only did he not have anything in common with them, he was often mocked for his clothes and his tacky manner of speech.

And thus, not long after, Wu Yan stopped taking the initiative to retort. For these bunch of rich second generation young masters and young ladies, who grew eyes on the top of their heads 1 , Wu Yan just left them to rot in their own greenhouse 2 .

Ever since he was young, he enjoyed playing basketball. Wu Yan’s skills were excellent and if he didn’t touch a ball for the whole day, he would feel extremely uncomfortable. But when he was about to sign up for the basketball club, he swept a glance at the people and there were those whose faces revealed bad intentions. In the end, he decided against it.

He still firmly believed that the world was fair.

He went to find many departments and even wrote more than 10 handwritten letters to the Dean before finally establishing a commoner’s basketball club. This club was for the people who were like him; loved basketball yet unable to join the basketball club. This lit the fire of hope in all of these people.

While some rejoiced, some raged.

This move of Wu Yan was no doubt plucking the whiskers of a tiger 3 . It was as if a streak of arrogant and proud tigers were slowly sharpening their originally sharp claws. As long as the Tiger King gave the command, they would immediately attack as a whole, letting him die with no skin intact.

The Tiger King merely smiled and did not give any instructions.

Wu Yan was a person of incredible talent. This was something everyone who knew him, attested to. His inherent charisma and the unordinary talent were his best attributes. Apart from the wealthy and those of exceptional beauty, there was an obvious difference when everyone was compared to the tall and sturdy Wu Yan.

When Wu Yan first met Mo Yu, he didn’t discern any sense of danger. The spectacle-wearing Mo Yu was just as gentle and quiet, his hair was styled in a refreshing manner. The overly-washed out jeans worn with a white dress shirt was indeed pleasing to the eyes. When Wu Yan was evaluating himself 4 , Mo Yu had also seen Wu Yan.

Mo Yu raised his hands and waved towards Wu Yan. He had a huge grin on his face and Wu Yan was unsure of what kind of tricks Mo Yu was up to.

Furrowing his brows, Wu Yan pondered for half a second before leaving without giving a response. When Wu Yan turned to leave, he basically missed the abnormal gleam of light that flashed in Mo Yu’s eyes.

The two basketball captains were at peace, but underlying the peace, the members of both teams were all fighting each other, both openly and secretly. After Wu Yan’s failure at persuading his members to cease fighting, he just let them develop on their own.

The days were originally peaceful and quiet. On a certain day, the paper-like peace was suddenly pierced through.

In the Commer’s Basketball Club, one of the best member was dumped by his girlfriend. Before he even got a clear reason for the break up, he rushed straight to the defenseless Mo Yu. With one stumble, Mo Yu was gloriously sent to the hospital.

Wu Yan hated the smell of disinfectant since he was young. With a fruit basket in hand, he stood outside of the hospital entrance for a brief moment. Then, he deeply inhaled, speedily walking towards Mo Yu’s room.

When the club member made a mistake, Wu Yan felt that it was the duty of the captain to personally apologise to Mo Yu.

Hence at around 9 pm, he went to visit Mo Yu. There was only Mo Yu in the room. The two looked at each other directly, neither saying anything.

The night breeze was rather strong. It blew inside the room and opened the curtains. For someone like Wu Yan, who had long been independent, he would definitely not miss such small details.

He placed his own basket of fruits with the other visitors’ gifts. He considerately walked towards the windows and closed the window facing the hospital bed.

“I want to eat some fruits.” Mo Yu looked at Wu Yan’s silhouette, feeling some waves of emotions flooding him.

“Eh?!” Feeling surprised, he turned around. Wu Yan wasn’t sure that he had heard correctly. The beautiful wheat coloured complexion brought out the shine of the pearly white teeth. Unsure if it’s the lighting that was the issue, but the slightly opened mouth carried an abnormal sense of seduction.

“I said, I want to eat fruits. Peel an apple for me. Right, I want to eat a crunchy and juicy apple.” Mo Yan was even more beautiful without his spectacles. But without the scholarly temperament created from the spectacles, Wu Yan felt very much betrayed by the vast difference?!

Shaking his head, Wu Yan felt that he might have over-thought things. This was only his second time seeing Mo Yu. When he first saw Mo Yu, he truly felt that Mo Yu wasn’t greeting him. But now that he thought about it, maybe he was thinking too much.

He chose the biggest apple from the fruit basket he brought. Wu Yan sat on the chair beside the hospital bed, peeling the apple in all seriousness. He didn’t seem to realise that his current actions were unlike someone who only met Mo Yu for the second time. The atmosphere between the two were like childhood sweethearts or close intimate friends. That pair of beautiful eyes wrinkled into crescents. They were originally glued onto Wu Yan’s pair of hands, but slowly shifted towards Wu Yan’s lips.

One could feel a little thirsty even without speaking. Wu Yan stretched out his tongue to moisten his lips. That shade of pink, which was a different shade from the lips, brought some ripples to Mo Yu’s eyes.

He didn’t really say much. Just as usual, Wu Yan nodded his head and left. He felt that everything was in the past.

Life would always have certain episodes. Maybe one would rage, maybe one would be hurt and depressed…… but similarly, they all share the same connection: They would catch one unaware.

The calm and uneventful college life was ending soon. It was really unexpected. Ever since the visit to the hospital, Wu Yan hadn’t seen Mo Yu anymore and didn’t find anything amiss. Wu Yan started to plan out his future seriously.

One honest and kind wife, two sensible and obedient daughter and son.

However, a blueprint that one carefully planned out, may not always happen in reality.

Not even half a day had passed and yet Wu Yan had already felt that today was his own Black Friday. The moment he got up in the morning, he tripped over himself and fell off the bed. Not only did he hit the back of his head, he even knocked into the green jujube, which had rolled onto the floor at some point.

Leaving the house, he went towards the bus stop, only to see his bus, no more than 2 meters away, driving off into the distance, even spraying a whole bunch of black gas at him. All of the cells in his body were unable to hold back as they screamed.

But these still weren’t the worst yet. The worst was that he met a fussy client. He clearly was an intern who knew his duties, yet they just had to let him deal with this client, who made people rage in hate. The supervisor just added oil to the fire, insisting that he had to accompany the client for lunch and even said that he had to get the cooperation contract signed.

Crap! F*ck! God d*mn it! Wu Yan finally knew why his seniors had casted a sympathetic gaze as he accompanied the client out of the meeting room. He wanted to twist that client’s hand into the opposite direction. Wu Yan’s dark expression glared at that client, who was making an unreasonable fuss, hating that he couldn’t chop up this pervert and feed him to the pigs.

As one could imagine, Wu Yan couldn’t even manage to gather his things before getting kicked out of his internship position by his supervisor. With this, his internship appraisal was definitely unsalvageable.

Aye…. Wu Yan lifted up his head silently and faced the heavens.

Very good. In a split moment, the nice, sunny weather turned into stormy and thunderous rainfall. There wasn’t a single car on the street. He reckoned that the rainstorm alert must have come in advance.

He could only walk back and it was already 5 pm. Fortunately, he finally reached home.

Before he could take a breather, he touched his pockets and grieved. The day that his landlord went to visit his hometown, he actually lost his house keys. Since his wallet was still in his pocket, he decided to go for a drink, to get rid of his bad luck.

If only he knew that this would happen, Wu Yan would have never used alcohol to ease his emotions. This really just proved the saying: Using wine to forget, made one worry even more.

What a headache!! The swelling at the back of his head hadn’t gone down yet, this really was just……

Long before Wu Yan awoke, Mo Yu was already up. Every move of Wu Yan’s were all captured into Mo Yu’s eyes. But Mo Yu was confident. He relied on his understanding of Wu Yan in these past years. He deeply understood Wu Yan’s weakness and was even clearer on his soft spot. And what Mo Yu desired the most, was for him to become Wu Yan’s soft spot.

“It’s alright…… If you don’t want to take responsibility, I won’t force you……” Turning his head, Mo Yu gazed at the other side, silently hugging the curtains where the sun shone.

As the silk slid off, the clean white back instantly entered Wu Yan’s line of sight. That pale nape had Wu Yan’s mark, that he left in a moment of excitement.

He wasn’t a virgin who hadn’t experienced anything. Long before, in the first year of college, Wu Yan bedded a girl. After that, he obviously had been with some others. The only thing was that, regarding the matters of sex, Wu Yan didn’t take the initiative, and wasn’t very interested in it. Wu Yan himself even felt that he was a little frigid 5 .

But everything that happened last night, told Wu Yan that wasn’t the truth. When caressing Mo Yu, all of the blood in Wu Yan’s body gushed and boiled. Especially in the moment where he entered Mo Yu. It was basically the world’s most beautiful and splendid happening. Two men sharing the same bed was as if it were a reunion of the beasts.

Up until they both were exhausted to the bone, unwilling to move, Wu Yan then spooned Mo Yu as he entered dreamland.

Even the most splendid thing couldn’t cover reality. Even dreams would have to end someday. Wu Yan wasn’t Mo Yu. He had no commitments, no baggage. But Mo Yu was different. Mo Yu was the proud son of God. He had a big group of people who loved and cared for him, he had endless possibilities of a future.

The words he originally wanted to say were crushed into ashes by Mo Yu’s single sentence. In the end, Wu Yan had also forgotten what he was concerned about.

“I’ll take responsibility.” Wu Yan wasn’t a person who easily made promises. And because of this, once he laid down a promise, he would never go back on it.

Covering the blanket over Mo Yu’s body once more, Wu Yan silently hugged Mo Yu into his embrace. He didn’t notice the look on Mo Yu’s face. Wu Yan didn’t realise that he was deceived by someone too.

Hooking up a faint smile, Mo Yu knew that he won. And he won beautifully. This round was the most successful battle of his life. As for the prize? It was his beloved of a lifetime—— Wu Yan.

Author’s note:

Hehe, anyone else wanna see their development?! Although I do think that this ending is pretty good too……
