The idea of finding other alphas to temporarily mark himself was dispelled. Yu Lan simply indulged himself completely, like a moth drawn to a flame, allowing the feelings inside him to grow wild.
His plans didn’t change though. Two days later in the morning, he had a sudden idea and asked Uncle Liu, “Can I ride a bike to class by myself?”
Uncle Liu was shocked and confused. “Huh? Riding a bike? D-Do you know how to? Do you know the way? It’s a half-hour drive, you’ll be very tired riding a bike!”
“Just think of it as exercise.” Yu Lan smiled. “I know the way, I’ve got it memorised, and the bike… I should be able to ride it.”
Although he had never come in contact with one, Yu Lan felt like he should be able to ride a bike.
As for how long it would take to ride and how tired he would be, Yu Lan didn’t really care. He always felt that he was too weak. There was no other way when in the hands of the traffickers. He was already fortunate to have a meal every day, and now that he was free, he wanted to train himself to be a little more sturdy.
Uncle Liu didn’t think it was feasible at all. In his eyes, Yu Lan was thin and beautiful, simple and ignorant, how could he be assured to let Yu Lan ride a bike to the city by himself!
But Yu Lan looked determined and he couldn’t do anything, so he made his way to the balcony.
Three guests were welcomed into the manor early in the morning.
Yu Lan followed Uncle Liu’s gaze and looked there.
A small round table with four people seated around it.
The man didn’t go to the company today. He dressed more casually, but still behaved in an extravagant manner.
The best friends visiting today were two men and one woman. A male alpha, a male omega and a female beta.
After Uncle Liu passed by, the male alpha looked over at Yu Lan, wondering what he was saying to Shao Mingyu, who also looked over at Yu Lan.
“Mingyu, where the hell did you pick this little omega up?” Chi Yan looked at the youth not far away, itching to ask.
“What are you doing? Is the group of omegas following you around not enough for you and now you’ve got your eye on Mingyu’s family?” The female beta eyed him.
“Mingyu and that kid shouldn’t have that kind of relationship, right?” The male omega picked up the tea and said with a smile.
“That’s right, this guy is so pure-hearted that he didn’t even respond when he threw the little omega on his bed!” Chi Yan laughed.
Shao Mingyu glanced at him. The latter immediately fell silent and cleared his throat uneasily.
He looked over to Yu Lan again and said to Uncle Liu, “If he wants to go out on his own, then have the bodyguards follow him.”
Uncle Liu went back with a tangled expression and spoke to Yu Lan, who hesitated to answer anything again.
“By the way, Yu Lan.” The male omega, Jian Ling blew on his tea and asked, “Is he from the Silver Moon clan?”
Chi Yan came back to his senses, a little startled.
He checked him out again and was almost certain.
With this level of beauty and the Yu surname, he was undoubtedly from the Silver Moon clan.
Shao Mingyu actually picked up a member of the Silver Moon clan?
The three of them had different thoughts.
And when Shao Mingyu saw that they were still talking not far away, he got up and walked over.
The female beta leisurely said, “He picked up such a beautiful omega, do you really believe that nothings going on?”
Chi Yan’s eyes showed suspicion. “If it was another alpha, I wouldn’t, but this is Shao Mingyu!”
To put it more bluntly, if an omega in estrus was thrown in front of him, he wouldn’t believe that Shao Mingyu would react.
Most alphas had undergone omega estrus pheromone training and would have a certain degree of tolerance. Sometimes, it just depends on whether they want to or not. And Shao Mingyu’s restrain was definitely the best among alphas.
Jian Ling sipped his tea, smiled and said, “What are you talking about, he’s from the Silver Moon clan.”
The other two were silent for a moment at that statement.
Oh yeah, the Silver Moon clan.
No matter what they thought, it was unlikely that Shao Mingyu would choose to start something with a member of the Silver Moon clan.
Yu Lan saw the man walk over and whispered, “Mr Shao.”
“What’s wrong?”
“This kid,” Uncle Liu glared, “Doesn’t even want a bodyguard to follow!”
Shao Mingyu’s brows knitted together.
“I know the way!” Yu Lan quickly said, “And I’m not a kid. I’m going back and forth during the day, so I won’t be in danger.”
Uncle Liu still wanted to say something but was stopped by a look from Shao Mingyu. He sighed, shook his head and walked away.
So only Yu Lan and Shao Mingyu were left.
“Ah Lan, we won’t rest assured if you go out alone, “Shao Mingyu said.
Yu Lan pursed his lips and said, “But… I can’t be taken care of by you guys like this for the rest of my life. I always have to be independent.”
Shao Mingyu paused, wanting to say, “Why not?”, but was interrupted by the youth before he could say anything.
Yu Lan tilted his head up, looked at the man and said, “I don’t want to be protected all the time. I can take care of myself, Mr Shao.”
Shao Mingyu frowned.
Yu Lan was not a reckless person.
From the first day of class, he memorised the route and all the details along the way. He experienced the world and wanted to move as fast as possible to become someone like Mr Shao, Uncle Liu and Aunty Jiang, who could live in this society on their own.
The idea came out of nowhere today, but he felt that everything was ready for him to start trying.
Shao Mingyu looked at him and asked, “Even if the bodyguards follow you for two days first?”
Yu Lan whispered, “It’s weird having bodyguards follow…”
Shao Mingyu raised his eyebrows. “What’s weird?”
Yu Lan lowered his head. “It’s just that… it’s weird.”
He looked up again, anxiously looking at the man and whispered, “Mr Shao…”
The voice was small and somewhat tactful, a little different from the way he usually called him.
Entering his ears, Shao Mingyu’s breathing became stagnant. He laughed and said in a low voice, “Ah Lan, are you acting coquettish with me?”
Yu Lan stiffened and that’s when he realised that he just called him a bit… but he didn’t mean it, he did it subconsciously!
He blushed and lowered his head. “N-No.”
Shao Mingyu raised his hand and rubbed his head, a smile reflecting into his eyes as he deliberately said, “Say it again?”
“…” Yu Lan, “… Mr Shao!”
His face was so red it seemed like it could bleed.
Shao Mingyu’s smile grew even deeper.
Yu Lan quietly said, “Mr Shao, you agree, right? I promise that I will take care of myself.”
Shao Mingyu withdrew his hand and wanted to smoke again.
Yu Lan wasn’t sure why Mr Shao and Uncle Liu were so worried about him. In his opinion, there couldn’t be a more dangerous situation than being in the hands of a human trafficker.
When the man didn’t answer, Yu Lan hesitated and reached out, tugging at the man’s clothes.
Shao Mingyu glanced at him, staring at him while his eyes darkened.
Yu Lan hardened his scalp and gently tugged.
He tried to call him as he did before, tactfully and gently.
The sound of “Mr Shao” caused waves in Shao Mingyu’s heart.
His Adam’s apple rolled.
He rubbed his forehead and sighed. “I got it.”
Yu Lan’s eyes lit up.
Seeing this, Shao Mingyu helplessly knocked him on the forehead with his fingers, saying, “Child.”
Yu Lan smiled.
“Take your phone. The bike… do you know how to ride one?” Shao Mingyu thought of this question and asked.
“Yes!” Yu Lan nodded. “I can try it right away.”
The manor naturally had a bicycle ready. Liu Uncle brought it over and Yu Lan rode it. He turned out to be surprisingly skilled.
Uncle Liu muttered, “Did you learn it at the orphanage before?”
After all, it was impossible to learn it in the hands of traffickers.
Hearing those words, Shao Mingyu thought of something but did not speak.
Shao Mingyu agreed, and Yu Lan was naturally ready to leave early as it was indeed a long ride.
Uncle Liu had the feeling like his child was going to school by themself for the first time. He was very worried, confirming several times that Yu Lan had everything on him.
Phone, money, even… a baton.

Yu Lan looked at a little stun gun, a little confused.
Before departing, Shao Mingyu suddenly said, “Ah Lan.”
Yu Lan turned back in confusion.
The man stood in the hallway, watching him and asked, “Are you in a hurry?”
Yu Lan was startled.
He wanted to shake his head, but finally, hesitantly, he nodded.
Uncle Liu stared at him. “You child, what’s there to be hurried about!”
Shao Mingyu stepped down and walked to the bike.
The man’s eyes were gentle and his voice was also like a feather that gently brushed over Yu Lan’s heart.
“No need to hurry, take your time,” he said, “I will always be here and will not leave.”
