Wipe the Floor
The room was covered in a deep dark colour, with the moonlight illuminating only a small area. The young-looking owner of the cat cafe sat on the armrest, his long legs slightly bent, one hand propped up, leaning down to look with interest at Zhu Heng, who had thrown himself in on the ground.
Pei Shiyi woke up as soon as Zhu Heng and the other person came in, he didn’t step in only because Copper Coin was having fun playing.
Pei Shiyi sat firmly on the armrest as if he did not see Zhu Heng’s frightened expression. He laughed and said, “This is not the way to go in the new society, you should get up.”
Zhu Heng shuddered in the darkness and he vaguely felt that something was wrong. The urgent task was to get the cat cafe owner back, so Zhu Heng gulped and climbed to his feet, pulled a pocket watch out of his pocket and slowly began to shake it.
“Look at it, look at it…you don’t see anything, nothing is happening-”
The sound of the pocket watches hands turning was regular and clear, strangely hypnotic.
Pei Shiyi narrowed his eyes. This watch was a bit interesting, the aura emitted was very special and although that little hypnotic effect did not work on him, against ordinary people, it should be enough.
Suddenly, Zhen Zhizhang’s voice cracking scream came from the ground floor.
Zhu Heng secretly hated Zhen Zhizhang for being a fool and shaking his pocket watch more and more gently, he whispered, “You laid in bed all night and slept until dawn…”
The cats, “…”
Pei Shiyi put one hand against his jaw and quietly said, “This is what humans call deceiving oneself, right?”
Zhu Heng’s heart was shocked- hypnosis didn’t work, did it mean that the other party was not a normal human?
Since this was the case, a hint of ruthlessness flashed in Zhu Heng’s eyes, then physical hypnosis!
Zhu Heng sprang to his feet, rushed up to the second floor in three steps and formed his fingers into a knife with the intention of knocking Pei Shiyi out.
Yun Chao, who was crouched in place without moving, stretched out her claws and hooked Zhu Heng’s trouser leg. Zhu Heng immediately lost his balance and planted himself in front of Pei Shiyi with a thud, knocking his head on the stairs and hitting his head, dizzy and unable to get up for a while.
Yun Chao waved her tail. “What’s next? Call the police?”
“Let’s wait for Bao Jin to come back during the day, handing them to the cops right now will frighten people.”
Pei Shiyi stood up with a tsk and gestured for Egg Yolk to coax the few kittens back.
Egg Yolk tilted his head. “No interrogation?”
Pei Shiyi raised his eyebrows, “Sweetheart, the director’s family here, talking about privately punishing in front of little Sponge Cake… isn’t that a little too blatant?”
Unfortunately, Zhu Heng’s head was banged up, even if you tried, you couldn’t ask anything. If you really want to know the other party’s mind, some unusual methods would have to be used.
Pei Shiyi remembered that he was in his “unstable phase” and that using his spiritual power on people might have an effect on his evaluation, so he should avoid it.
Little Sponge Cake of the director’s family, “…”
He silently turned his head, thinking that the gentleman was so immodest, taking the time to squeeze the director and take advantage of himself.
Egg Yolk nodded and coaxed the younger ones back to bed, glaring hard at Zhu Heng before he left.
The image of Zhu Heng at the moment hurt his eyes so much that Pei Shiyi averted his eyes and walked around Zhu Heng to go downstairs.
Copper Coin was still crouching downstairs, and Zhu Heng’s accomplice was now lying on the ground, unable to get up, his nose bruised and swollen, and his mouth mumbling nonsense, obviously delirious.
Before Pei Shiyi could walk down the stairs, he saw the bloodstained carpet and the oddly smelling pieces of meat that were reeking freely, blood stains flung everywhere and several low tables off their original positions.
In Pei Shiyi’s eyes, it was chaos written in bold.
Copper Coin, one of the home demolition culprits. “…”
I’m going to die.
“I’ve changed my mind,” Pei Shiyi said, sinking his face and gritting his teeth. “It’s not appropriate to privately punish him.”
Copper Coin, “Meow?”
……
The next morning, Bao Jin pushed open the door of the cat cafe in the dusky light of day. Before he could enter, he heard the sound of whimpering and cries. He took a step and slowly walked around the cupboard to look at the source of the sound-
A man was seen crouched on the floor with his back to him, the sound of rushing water accompanied by huffing and puffing cries echoing through the cat cafe. The cafe’s five furry children were nestled on a climbing frame to one side, staring down at the man from above.
And the cat cafe owner was sitting on a mahogany chair with his long legs folded, he propped his elbows on the armrests and lowered his eyes to stare at the man. When he heard the door open, he only lifted his eyes to glance at Bao Jin, then lowered his gaze and said impatiently to the man, “Move faster.”
The man gave a sobbing hiccup and said in a thick nasaly voice, “Y-yes boss.”
Bao Jin, “…”
What happened on this night when he was away?
Bao Jin, “You look suspiciously like you’re oppressing innocent humans.”
He took two steps to Pei Shiyi’s side and examined the squatting man’s face. The other person was bruised and swollen, his features were deformed, he couldn’t even tell what he originally looked like. He was crying and hiccuping, rubbing in his hands a…very familiar carpet.
It was the carpet that he had washed.
Bao Jin, “…Where did you get this free labour from? The supervision period will be extended because of oppressing humans.”
Pei Shiyi sneered, “Free labour? He has soiled my carpet, shouldn’t he clean it for me?” The one that got dirty wasn’t this one and the other carpets had already been washed and were being dried outside. Pei Shiyi didn’t plan to keep them anymore, but even the things that he didn’t want anymore needed to be washed if they were dirty.
“That cameraman is tied up upstairs, so I’ll trouble Director Bao to get the man out of my way later.”
Bao Jin immediately understood. “He and the cameraman came to the cat cafe last night? What for?”
Pei Shiyi coldly, “To steal cats. What were you doing last night? Didn’t you know to deal with these two people who were obviously problematic?”
Director Bao, who was miserably working, rubbed his brow.
The few carpets in the cat cafe should have been washed. The new carpets have not been placed and the floor was carpeted in some places and not in others, empty somewhere and covered elsewhere. It was so ugly that one with OCD could go crazy on the spot just by looking at it. No wonder this rare bird was fuming.
Anyways, it was the last phoenix on heaven and earth, a little bit of extreme cleanliness was normal…
After choosing between playing dead and pacifing him, Bao Jin chose the latter. “Yesterday there was a temporary matter at the bureau, I thought that since the cat cafe had you, nothing could go wrong, so I also put it aside for the time being. I was not thoughtful.”
That was pleasant to listen to.
Pei Shiyi did look a little better and stood up to get a new rug.
Bao Jin was slightly surprised: He was actually quite easy to coax.
As soon as Pei Shiyi left, the sobbing of the one cleaning the carpet grew several times louder.
Bao Jin swept his eyes down over his face and suddenly said, “You only dirtied the carpet?”
The man may have misunderstood that Bao Jin was seeking “justice” for him and became energetic. “Yes, I just accidentally stained the carpet, I didn’t have time to do anything! Look at my face, it’s all the cat’s fault! Wu wu, this gentleman…”
Bao Jin’s little patience was obviously not going to be shared with him, and he left without even listening to the words, leaving only one sentence. “Wash all the carpets.”
The man, “…Why?!”
Unfortunately, no one responded to him, as the cats and kittens in the daytime followed the “I’m just a cute, innocent fluffy” rule, saying nothing and lazily shaking their fur as they dozed off in the sun.
The man who hadn’t slept all night sobbed and picked up all the rugs.
……
Under Zhou Yan’s management, the cat cafe’s official account on J-site already had over 30,000 followers. The bad guy video had over two million views, and Copper Coin was now a famous cat on J-site.
The second video introducing the cat cafe had also received more than 100,000 replays, and Zhou Yan was collecting material for the third video.
He privately wanted to take more videos of Fondant and make them interesting, preferably ones that were almost as good as Copper Coin’s one to became popular in one fell swoop. After all, ragdolls were so, so sweet, she really could!
Although Fondant was clingy, she was still scared when she was chased and photographed by a demented man. When this little poor thing was scared, she shrunk into Yun Chao’s arms. Yun Chao was not a delicate little girl, and being photoed would make her annoyed.
Zhou Yan was whacked in the face by Yun Chao’s tail and held up his phone to watch the two fur balls huddle together and walk away with a very regretful look in his eyes.
He sighed long and hard and suddenly caught a glimpse of his boss and friend and rushed over. “Mr Bao.”
Bao Jin’s eyes dropped. “What is it?”
Zhou Yan hurriedly said, “Do you know where the boss is?”
Bao Jin said, “On the second floor, need something?”
He and Pei Shiyi had changed the whole carpet of the cat cafe this morning and threw it to the man who called himself Zhen Zhizhang to wash it. Although the carpet was thin, it was heavy with water. Zhen Zhizhang had not finished washing it all morning, and Pei Shiyi’s was supervising the work upstairs.
Zhou Yan, “I wanted to video Fodant, but boss Yun Chao was so mean, so I thought why not just let the boss do it.”
He had been observing for a few days, but boss Yun Chao’s good temper was only towards soft girls and the boss. Even if he was as handsome as the boss’s friend, the boss would still ignore him and give him a hard time if he touched her too much.
Bao Jin, who had just had been whacked by Yun Chao’s tail this morning, “I’ll go up and get him.”
The balcony on the second floor was covered with carpets, dripping with water. The cameraman Zhu Heng and Zhen Zhizhang were wringing the carpets on one side, the balcony was covered with water.
Bao Jin said, “Why don’t you use the washing machine?” Can a clean freak stand the water stains on the floor?
Pei Shiyi could not bear it and coldly said, “Isn’t that not right? Let them wipe the floor.”
Bao Jin, “…”
A lively bully bird.
