Opening
Yu Chuan University was located less than 500 meters away from Shi Liu Street and students often travelled in groups in the evening. The “street” for shopping commonly referred to Shi Liu Street.
As an interior design major senior, Li Duyu had been running around every day to various professional courses, exchanging a handful of hair for a stack of design books and finally freed up time this weekend.
She opened the software she always browsed and accidentally found her space was filled, all of them saying that there were two super handsome men handing out flyers on Shi Liu Street and also gave out desserts for taste testing.
A new post came from a good friend in the next dorm room, showing that it was sent at 4:00 p.m. The text was only several rows of “Ahhhh”, with a video attached at the bottom. Li Duyu idly opened a pack of chocolates and clicked on the video.
The video was apparently taken by the friend holding a phone themselves. It was a bit shaky and the scene was full of visitors, but the protagonist of the video was obvious- it was the two men standing together.
Li Duyu could hear her friend screaming in a quiet voice, “So handsome, so handsome, my leg’s about to break from his handsomeness ahhhhhh.”
The two men in the camera were distinguished by their stature and their standing posture was also extra upright. The two were surrounded by girls, the crowd was also extremely eye-catching.
One of the men wearing a grey-blue long-sleeved shirt seemed to feel the camera, looked up in the direction of the camera and seemed to freeze for a moment. Then his eyebrows smoothed, he curled the corners of the lips and his smile spread over the corners of his eyebrows and eyes.
He gave a smile to the camera.
Li Duyu instantly covered her mouth for a moment- Ahhhhhh!
She had never seen anyone with such an infectious smile.
When he smiled, the world lit up.
The camera shook violently a few times, fully reflecting the excitement of the person videoing. Slowly, the camera gradually approaching the direction of the men, the closer it got, the clearer the men’s eyebrows. He looked good without restraint, almost regal in appearance.
Then, he pulled out a flyer and handed it over.
Li Duyu was just smiling at the time, the man also seriously said, “I can guarantee that my cats look as good as I do.”
Oh, did he open a pet store?
The friend within the video also asked the question, and the other party replied, “No, it’s a cat cafe, just down the street called Xian Chan. This is our new dessert, free taste testing, want to try it?”
The man elbowed the man beside him. The man turned his head to look at the camera. Li Duyu immediately held her breath- crap, this one was handsome and boss-like! His aura was explosive!
With an expressionless face, Mr Boss held up a plate, which was filled with matcha crepes in disposable cups.
The words “forced to work” were written all over his body.
Li Duyu laughed so hard she nearly shrivelled up.
She laughed enough and turned around to ask her best friend, “A new cat cafe has opened on Shi Liu Street, let’s go have a look this weekend.”
The best friend of the same profession didn’t even turn around and said, “…Don’t want to.”
Li Duyu wondered, “Why? There’s an event at the opening this weekend.”
Mimi scratched her hair and looked at her design book that she has changed six or seven times but still wasn’t satisfied with, very hesitant.
Li Duyu looked at her best friends thinning hair, couldn’t bear it and said, “Let’s go take a look, treat it as rest and relaxation, the more anxious you are while designing, the balder you become. Also, I looked at a senior sister’s space. I feel that decoration inside that very interesting and your design style is quite similar, so go to find inspiration.”
Mimi looked at the few strands of hairs in her hand and nodded her head painfully in agreement.
The next morning, the two freshened up and ran straight to the cat cafe.
“You even brought your design book…”
Li Duyu watched her best friend take out a stack of design papers from her bag, finally speechless.
Could you still find time to design while playing with cats?
Mimi’s aim was not to play with the cats. When Xian Chen cat cafe first opened, she was excited to run in like Li Duyu, thinking that it would be as immortal and beautiful as the cat cafe in the video online, but she was disappointed. Mimi lost interest in this cat cafe and this time was only willing to go purely to accompany her best friend.
“Maybe you can find some inspiration in the store.”
Mimi casually said that her main reason for going was for the fairy-tale decoration, the cats weren’t important.
Although they got up early, when the two arrived at Shi Liu Street, it was already half an hour after the opening time.
To the surprise of the two people, looking in through the glass window, the people inside were not too few, mostly couples or groups of girls. Moreover, the cat cafe was a small, detached building, a few windows were half-hidden by light grey-blue curtains. In front of the floor-to-ceiling window was a thick, round cushion. Two tortoiseshell kittens turned over onto their bellies purring while sleeping, their white bellies rose up slightly and fell, looking very good to the touch.
It doesn’t look too bad!
Li Duyu and Mimi glanced at each other, immediately sped up and ran into the cat cafe.
Pushing open the door, the cool air of the air conditioner instantly drove away the heat.
Even Mimi, who was stressed and only had design books on her mind, couldn’t help but relax. Even though there were many people in the cat cafe, it was very quiet.
A familiar blackboard was placed at the entrance, but the chalk writing on it had changed from an advertisement for finding cats to a cat-playing guide, with common rules such as no forcibly holding cats, no feeding, etc.
Li Duyu couldn’t help but take out her phone and take a picture.
The attendant at the door was a girl, holding hand sanitiser and explained in a soft voice that they needed to wash their hands before entering the store and to change into the shoes prepared by the store before the attendant gave way to the entrance to the inside of the cat cafe.
Once inside, because she had lost her appetite from being busy, Mimi smelled a seemingly sweet smell. It was the smell of freshly baked desserts, light, not at all greasy, mixed with the slight bitterness of coffee, seducing all gluttons.
Mimi, who hadn’t eaten breakfast, suddenly felt a hunger she couldn’t resist. She picked up the menu and the beautiful presentation whetted her appetite, she even felt like trying each one.
But urged by her hunger, she quickly ordered her meal and then found a seat while Li Duyu looked at the menu.
This location was near the floor-to-ceiling window cushion, the two tortoiseshell kittens still lying asleep on it.
By this time, she had forgotten that the purpose of her visit to the cat cafe was not to play with cats but to learn about the decoration. Her eyes were fully engaged in finding other cats in the cat cafe.
Ahhhhhhh, that beautiful big white cat fluffball! Could you come over and let big sister pet you.
A ragdoll! A little fairy ragdoll! Blue eyes with stars in them wu wu wu.
As soon as Mimi sat down, an orange cat with its belly almost touching the floor slowly walked over, jumped onto her low table and revealed his belly, it naturally flattened under the effect of gravity and also pushed away Mimi’s phone.
Mimi, “!!”
She leaned a little closer and found that the orange cat had a sign hanging around its neck with flowery lettering on it: Store Manager Egg Yolk.
Egg Yolk: Don’t play with your phone when you enter the cat cafe, come and play with me.
Mimi hastily covered her mouth, almost screaming out. She didn’t even care about her phone that had been squeezed to the side.
Egg Yolk stretched out his paws and presses on Mimi’s hand. Mimi carefully stuck to Egg Yolk’s soft belly and was instantly conquered by the fleshiness of the big orange cat.
When Li Duyu came over, her best friend had already indulged in playing with the cats, as for the bag stuffed with design books… had been thrown aside, even the zipper was not opened.
Li Duyu shrugged- she knew it.
Egg Yolk hugged Mimi’s wrist and slowly licked Mimi’s finger. The tingling and tickling touch of the barbed tongue brushing over her skin made Mimi surprised and delighted.
“It’s so cute, ahhh chubby and so soft.”
Mimi’s right hand was completely sunk into the fur. Egg Yolk’s elastic belly resembled yellow QQ candy.
When Mimi was indulging in Egg Yolk, there was a soft exclamation from across the room. She couldn’t help but look up to see that the square table across the room had gathered a circle of people at some point, and there were people holding up their phones to take pictures.
The big orange suddenly rolled over and jumped off the table, leaping a few times onto the cushions.
From who knows when, there was only one tortoiseshell cat left on the cushion. The big orange cat picked up the little tortoiseshell and walked slowly towards the square table surrounded by the crowd. The people who were brushed by the fur exhaled slightly and quickly gave way.
Mimi followed curiously. There were two little brothers in the crowd with their heads down, their faces couldn’t be seen. One had a cat hanging on him, the one with the white pullover had another small tortoiseshell hanging on him. The other with a black shirt had a golden British shorthair sitting in his arms.
There was also unpacked milk powder on the square table, so it was obvious that the nanny was going to start feeding.
The big orange cat jumped on the square table, put down the small tortoiseshell. Within seconds a leopard cat fell from the sky and landed steadily on the table, scaring many people.
The leopard cat sniffed and stuffed its head into the bag of milk powder, startling itself and backing away. When its head was removed from the bag, milk powder had stuck to the fur on its face.
And as soon as the little tortoiseshell stepped on the table, it began to meow at its twin, as if to complain, “Why didn’t you wake me up to go eat?”
The little tortoiseshell hanging on the man meowed and pounced down. The two furballs rolled together at once, the big orange cat squatted on the square table, watching the two furballs roll all the way in front of him, his tail patting the fussy babies.
The tortoiseshells couldn’t resist hugging the furry tail and nibbling on it.
At this time, the man with the white pullover raised his head, which immediately triggered a commotion among the girls. He swept his eyes in the direction of the louder sound and put up a finger to touch on his lips. Then, he fished up the two small tortoiseshells into his arms, tested the temperature of the milk bowl, found that it was just right and placed it in front of the small tortoiseshells.
The kittens were energetic but also hungry. When they smelled the milk, they rushed to bury their heads in it, not caring to fight with each other.
The youth was none other than Pei Shiyi, who watched the clock and brewed milk powder for the tortoiseshells in case the kittens were hungry.
Pei Shiyi also brewed an extra dish of milk and picked it up to tease Sponge Cake. “Does Sponge Cake want to drink?”
Sponge Cake was aware that he was already a big child, so of course, he did not want to drink the milk, to treat himself as a baby Pei Shiyi screamed in protest, turned his head and buried his face into the arms of Bo Jin.
Pei Shiyi shook his shoulders and laughed in a quiet voice.
Bao Jin slowly stroked the spine of Sponge Cake and glanced at him. “You have nothing better to do.”
Pei Shiyi immediately changed his expression, glanced at him. Since it wasn’t easy to mock him in front of people, he only glanced at him and dragged out his voice. “Yes- you are superior, you have gotten rid of the low-level taste.”
He put down the milk dish and held up a small tortoiseshell over to drink, then unexpectedly carried away Sponge Cake and carelessly said, “What cat is the superior?”
He quarrelled with Bao Jin and had to pull in other cats, scratching Copper Coin’s chin for approval. “Does our Copper Coin feel the same way?”
Copper Coin didn’t need to turn his head to feel Bao Jin’s gaze. In the face of this life-threatening question, Copper Coin slowly laid down on the table and pretended to be dead.
This is too much for me.
