What do you want to know?

Qin Yi was taken aback, then he realized that the person speaking so strangely must be the lame detective he met when buying fried dough sticks yesterday morning!

"Mr. Detective, do you have good news?" The good news was that the scoundrel Price had encountered Susa by chance, not intentionally targeting her! Qin Yi turned to walk into the house.

"Yes, Price was looking for trouble that day." The great detective's voice was flat, showing no emotion.

Qin Yi was speechless. What kind of good news was this?

Could it be that they found the reason why Susa was targeted?

"Go on!" With a guess in mind, Qin Yi was no longer in a hurry.

"Beau Susa gave him 300 dollars to do it."

"Beau Susa?" Qin Yi rubbed his nose. Who was this guy, and what was his relationship with Sophie Susa? Why did he do this?

"Just tell me everything!" Qin Yi was tired of playing guessing games!

The great detective's voice, as usual, was flat: "Beau Susa is your friend's only cousin, who owes a large gambling debt in Salt Lake City. He fled to Niagara Falls City half a month ago and is now hiding in a rental house. Three days ago, he gave Price 300 dollars to harass your friend when she got into her car and chase her, which led to the car accident."

After hearing the great detective's words, Qin Yi frowned. The situation seemed to have become complicated. Was the car accident intentional?

Murder?

But why?

Qin Yi suddenly remembered that the great detective had said Beau was Susa's only cousin and now owed a large gambling debt! A flash of lightning crossed his mind, and a terrifying thought emerged!

"If my friend dies, can Beau inherit the estate? She has a daughter!"

"He can apply to the court to become the child's guardian. As the only relative, it's very likely to be approved. Then, before the child comes of age, he can manage the finances temporarily!"

"Damn it!" Qin Yi slapped his thigh and cursed in Chinese!

"Yes, damn it!" The great detective also said, his voice finally showing some change, revealing a sense of anger and frustration!

"I didn't expect you to understand Chinese!" Qin Yi was surprised that the great detective knew Chinese, though he didn't understand the change in the detective's emotions and didn't ask. Everyone has their own story.

The great detective's voice had returned to normal, "I know five foreign languages."

Qin Yi grinned. Truly a freak, he almost went crazy learning English in college! When he first came to America, he could barely communicate, but now, Qin Yi spoke English fluently, probably because of the Lingyuan Grass, which enhanced his mental power and made him smarter!

Qin Yi returned to the house, poured himself a cup of coffee, and ignored the detective's hidden boasting, "How did he make the brakes fail?" Qin Yi was most puzzled about this. Officer Broad had said in the hospital that the surveillance footage showed no one approaching Susa's car!

"I went to the parking spot, and there's a sewer under the parking space!"

Qin Yi was speechless. There was nothing he couldn't do!

"Great Detective, there's a new job. Do you want to take it?"

"Find evidence against Beau?"

Sitting on the sofa, sipping coffee slowly, Qin Yi said matter-of-factly, "As expected of a great detective, you're quick to react!"

The great detective on the phone couldn't help rolling his eyes, showing his first facial expression! Quick to react? Any normal person would do this, right!

"Why not go to the police?"

"Find the evidence first, then call the police to wrap it up. I've seen it in movies! Besides, this is your job. I said, dig as deep as possible!"

The other end was silent for a moment, and his voice changed for the second time, saying helplessly, "Yes, this is my job! I'll contact you again!"

Finding cats and dogs had bored the great detective. Was this a small change of pace? Shaking his head, he hung up the phone, opened the phone case, took out the SIM card, broke it, and threw it into the sewer! Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly cursed, "Damn it!"

He looked back at the sewer, lamenting that his professional habits hadn't changed, wasting another SIM card!

The people around looked at the lame man, finding it strange: Americans speaking foreign languages in America, they couldn't understand!

The great detective didn't care about others' reactions. He thought about buying a SIM card and how much of the 100 dollars he earned from Qin Yi's job was left.

Who cares how much is left? I only care if I can find some fun!

But, I should break this damn habit, for God's sake!

Qin Yi hung up the phone, sat on the sofa, and pondered, hesitating whether to tell Susa now. After thinking for a long time, he decided to tell her. If this Beau came up with another plan to harm her, it would be dangerous without precautions! He called first, then drove to Susa's farm. Angel was taking a nap, and Susa had brewed coffee. Qin Yi sat down, took a sip, and spoke directly.

"Susa, I have something very serious to tell you. You might go through a tough time, but no matter what, please stay calm! Because I'm here, and I'll help you!"

Hearing Qin Yi's solemn tone, Susa's hands tightened involuntarily, feeling uneasy. She knew something bad must have happened. However, the hard life of the past few years had made her strong. She didn't say anything, just nodded, signaling Qin Yi to continue.

"Yesterday morning, I went out to buy breakfast and met a detective. I asked him to investigate the cause of your car accident. Now, there's an unexpected discovery!"

Qin Yi paused, giving Susa some time to digest. A few seconds later, he continued, "The day before the accident, your cousin Beau Susa gave Price 300 dollars to scare you when you got into your car the next day, which led to the car accident!"

Unlike what Qin Yi expected, Susa didn't get emotionally agitated. She just paused, frowned, and said, "Beau? We don't often contact, and we have no conflicts. Why would he do this?"

"Beau owes a large sum of money in Salt Lake City and fled to Niagara Falls City half a month ago. Also, was the brake failure really an accident?" Qin Yi explained, hoping she would understand the severity of the situation!

Sure enough, when Susa heard Qin Yi's words, she immediately realized, shocked, "Yi, you mean Beau tampered with the brakes and caused the car accident?" Susa looked at Qin Yi, who nodded, and couldn't accept it. Her own relative wanted to murder her!

"Oh, God! What a damn bastard!" She had really been in a car accident, and luckily, it was just a broken bone. But thinking back, she felt a chill, as if she had narrowly escaped death!

Qin Yi drank his coffee, watching her quietly, hoping she could calm down on her own.

This damn Beau was truly terrifying, meticulously planning a murder and not being exposed afterward. If Qin Yi hadn't hired a detective, he might have gotten away with it, and might even come back to harm her again!

Susa took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down. She knew solving the problem was the most important thing now.

"Yi, thank you. You always help me so much!" Susa looked at Qin Yi, her eyes filled with anxiety but more sincerity.

Qin Yi smiled, "We are friends, aren't we?"

"Yes, Yi, we are friends!" Qin Yi's smile infected Susa, making her feel much more at ease. "I want a glass of fruit wine; it will calm me down! Yi, would you like one?"

Susa looked at Qin Yi expectantly, hoping someone could drink with her at this moment, and Qin Yi was the best choice, being a friend to both her and Angel.

Qin Yi nodded decisively, "That's a good idea!"

Susa got up, went to the wine cabinet, and poured two glasses, handing one to Qin Yi. "Clink!" The glasses clinked, the sound clear.

Susa raised her glass and drank half of it in one go, feeling the fruit wine's calming effect. Realizing she was drinking so much in front of the host, she smiled apologetically, afraid of leaving a bad impression of not appreciating the wine!

"Sorry, Yi, drinking like this is really impolite and a waste of such good fruit wine! But, I really was shocked! God, I never thought I would become someone's murder target! This is terrible!"

Susa's expression was strange, eager to explain something. Her urgent manner made Qin Yi a bit puzzled. He waved his hand, smiling and affirming, "Susa, don't worry about it. A glass of wine, if you enjoy it, it has value, regardless of how you drink it!"

Susa smiled happily, remembering Qin Yi's words, "Beau owes a large sum of money? He wants to take over the ranch! What a damn bastard!"

It was clear that Susa was furious, clenching her teeth, wishing she could punch him in the nose right away!

"Yi, does the detective you hired have any evidence? I can't wait to send them to prison. These damn scumbags, they deserve to stay in prison for life!"

"Beau's residence has been found, and we are looking for evidence. Beau was very secretive, but I think there will be a breakthrough soon. This detective is very capable!"

Qin Yi thought for a moment and felt it was safer to be more cautious, "Susa, I mean, if you don't mind, you and Angel can stay at my ranch for a few days. You and Angel are in danger here!"

Susa hesitated. As a single mother, taking her daughter to stay at someone else's place would cause gossip! But staying here was really dangerous. If Beau sneaked in and shot her, no one might know for days!

Seeing Susa's expression, Qin Yi knew her hesitation, "Think about Angel. She's so young. If she loses her mother, it would be too cruel!"

Hearing this, Susa was no longer hesitant. She looked at Qin Yi, filled with gratitude, "Yi, you always think of others!"

Waving his hand, he urged her to pack some clothes and leave now.

Susa got up to wake Angel, "Angel? My darling, wake up and see who's here!"

Angel, carried downstairs by her mother, rubbed her sleepy eyes and said excitedly and hopefully, "Mom, is it Santa Claus bringing me a gift? Or is it Uncle Yi? I like Uncle Yi!"

Qin Yi, sitting on the sofa, heard the child's voice from the stairs and smiled, turning to wait for the little one to come down, "Uncle likes Angel too!"

"Wow, it really is Uncle Yi! Just like in my dream, that's great!" Angel cheered, ran down the stairs, and broke free from her mother's embrace, running to Qin Yi.

Qin Yi stood up and hugged the little one, "Angel, would you like to go to Uncle's house to play? Uncle will cook you something delicious!"

"Can I, Mom?" Angel looked at Susa with expectation and longing, her big eyes wide and pleading!

Susa smiled and shook her head. This look was unbearable! But they were going anyway, "Of course, but at Uncle Yi's house, you must be good, okay?"

The little girl nodded, looking like a good girl, "Angel will be very good!" Then, her big eyes twinkled, and she ran back to her mother, shaking her arm, "Is Mom coming too? Mom, come, come!"

"Okay, we'll go together!"

Hearing that everyone was going, Angel was overjoyed, kissed her mother, and ran back to Qin Yi, lifting her head to look at him, "Uncle Yi, let's go now!" She pulled on Qin Yi's arm, eager to leave!

Susa quickly stopped her, "Mom needs to pack things!"

"Angel will help Mom!" The little girl remembered her toys and wanted to bring them along!
