Tang Tian counted the number of zombies in the hall, and there were a total of eighteen. Seventeen of them were chefs, and only one was dressed as a student. This was what he could see; he wasn't sure if there were any more zombies in the two kitchens.
"Eighteen zombies, this is not good. If I attack one, it will surely alert the others. I have to take the risk. With Xiaoying here, I can at least hide behind him."
With a surge of courage, Tang Tian quickly led Xiaoying towards the nearest zombie.
The dining hall was over a thousand square meters, and the eighteen zombies were scattered throughout, unable to gather quickly.
Roar~~! As Tang Tian approached, the nearest zombie immediately noticed and lunged at him.
Roar Roar Roar~~! The other zombies were alarmed by the noise and rushed over.
"Xiaoying, quickly break this zombie's legs!" Tang Tian commanded urgently.
As soon as Tang Tian spoke, the ghost assassin materialized and darted out, circling the zombie quickly. With a few swings of the cheap dagger, he severed the zombie's legs, causing it to fall to the ground.
"That's it," Tang Tian rejoiced, immediately rushing forward and swinging his stick at the zombie's head.
With a few whacks, the zombie's head turned into a mushy melon, and it lay still on the ground. A faint white light emerged from the zombie and entered Tang Tian's body.
Tang Tian deliberately checked the attribute panel in his mind and saw that the experience bar, which was 60/100, had increased to 80/100.
"Sure enough, if I kill one more, I'll level up. Xiaoying, break that zombie's legs too." Tang Tian was elated and gave the order.
Following Tang Tian's command, the ghost assassin quickly darted out and severed the legs of another approaching zombie.
Tang Tian immediately rushed forward and killed the zombie with a few whacks. A white light emerged from the zombie's body, and a black coin dropped.
Holding the black coin in his hand, the white light entered Tang Tian's body, and he received a prompt.
"Congratulations, after a tough battle, you have leveled up. Your attributes have increased. You are now level 1. Additionally, you have been awarded 5 evolution points. Please choose your enhancement direction. You can enhance your basic attributes."
"3 points to Strength, 2 points to Constitution," Tang Tian quickly decided.
As soon as Tang Tian spoke, he felt a mysterious force enter his body, significantly increasing his strength and alleviating his fatigue.
"One Divine Coin" Looking at the black coin in his hand, Tang Tian received a simple prompt. He casually put the black coin into his ring, feeling that it would be useful in the future.
Roar Roar~~! As Tang Tian was basking in the joy of leveling up, the other sixteen zombies rushed over, making the situation extremely dangerous.
"Xiaoying, retreat." Tang Tian dared not let the ghost assassin fight sixteen zombies, as it was his lifeline. He immediately gave the order.
Tang Tian and the ghost assassin retreated to the kitchen.
However, as soon as Tang Tian entered the kitchen, the sixteen zombies immediately surrounded it, banging on the doors and windows.
"This won't do. I have to eliminate them, or these zombies will eventually break in," Tang Tian thought.
Without hesitation, Tang Tian quickly pushed a cold cabinet in front of the kitchen door, leaving just enough space for one zombie to pass through.
As soon as the door opened, a zombie rushed in.
Tang Tian immediately raised his stick and whacked the zombie down with two hits. He was pleased; before leveling up, it took three or four hits to kill a zombie, but now it only took two.
With the door gap, Tang Tian let the zombies in one by one and killed them with his wooden stick.
During this time, Tang Tian only had Xiaoying guard against any zombies trying to enter through the windows.
As the last zombie fell, Tang Tian finally breathed a sigh of relief. The entrance was now piled with zombie corpses.
"Hehe, this is like grinding monsters. If I hadn't thought of this method, those sixteen zombies would have torn me apart in no time," Tang Tian said to himself, sitting down exhausted.
He ordered Xiaoying to collect all the items dropped by the sixteen zombies. After resting, Tang Tian began to check his loot.
Eight black Divine Coins, whose purpose he didn't know, were stored away.
Additionally, there was a black skill book, three gray treasure boxes, and a gray piece of clothing.
"Level 1 Skill: Basic Knife Technique. Skill Description: Learning this skill allows you to skillfully use any knife-type weapon, greatly enhancing your strength. This is a passive skill and does not occupy an active skill slot. Do you want to learn it?"
Without hesitation, Tang Tian chose to learn it. Since it didn't occupy an active skill slot, he was happy to increase his strength. After choosing to learn, the Level 1 skill book turned into a black light and entered Tang Tian's mind. He immediately felt as if he had practiced with knives for many years. Even with a wooden stick, his movements became more varied and powerful.
Although he didn't have a knife now, he thought he would have one in the future.
Opening the three gray treasure boxes, two were empty, and the last one contained a pair of gloves.
"Inferior Gloves, basic equipment for beginners. Defense: 1. Equipment Description: This is the most basic defensive equipment. Wearing it prevents you from being infected by zombie blood and flesh. Do you want to equip it?"
Receiving the prompt, Tang Tian immediately chose to equip it. Even a small gain was a gain.
"Inferior Clothing, basic equipment for beginners. Defense: 2. Equipment Description: This is the most basic defensive equipment. Wearing it provides slight protection, but it is not enough to ensure your safety. Do you want to equip it?"
Seeing the last piece of equipment, Tang Tian received the prompt and immediately chose to equip it.
Finally, Tang Tian checked his attribute panel.

After reviewing his attributes, Tang Tian found that there wasn't much change. His attributes had automatically increased by one point each after leveling up. Additionally, he had strengthened his Strength by 3 points and his Constitution by 2 points. The skill section now showed the two skills he had learned. The experience required to level up had increased from 100 to 200, and the experience gained from killing a zombie had decreased from 20 to 10, giving him a sense of urgency. Leveling up would become increasingly difficult in the future.
After resting, Tang Tian stood up again. He needed to familiarize himself with the outside world and understand what had become of it.
