Chapter 8

"Students, I believe everyone already knows that the world has changed for some unknown reason. This is a disaster, and we are at constant risk of being killed by those monsters outside. Therefore, we must unite to get through this crisis. We need to have a unified plan and division of labor. While protecting ourselves, we must also take care of others' safety. Only then do we have a chance to survive. Remember, facing those monsters alone offers no hope of survival. So everyone must unite."

The bald teacher spoke with great passion, looking righteous and solemn.

Tang Tian, standing to the side, snorted inwardly. He remembered how this teacher, when Tang Tian rescued him from the room, had crawled and rolled out. If not for the danger of searching other places, the teacher would have almost climbed onto Tang Tian.

Although the teacher was thinking about his own safety and encouraging unity to make himself safer, Tang Tian had to admit that someone with higher education was different. He didn't mention himself but appeared to be working hard for everyone.

Tang Tian understood. After all, the world outside was almost entirely filled with zombies. Having this safe place was already quite fortunate. Although there were only a dozen or so people, gaining leadership meant not only ensuring his own safety but also gaining other benefits, like food...

As a teacher at the school, the bald middle-aged man had a good grasp of everyone's psychology. Standing up at a time when everyone was in a panic and saying a few words made everyone feel they had a leader, indirectly making them follow his commands. This teacher was quite cunning.

"Now we are temporarily safe, thanks to our classmate Tang Tian. With his fearless spirit, he has created a relatively safe environment for us. Such a person is worth our admiration," the teacher said, seeing Tang Tian to the side and nodding with a smile, as if affirming Tang Tian's actions.

Tang Tian was well aware of this tactic to win people's hearts. He wouldn't stand up and take on all the dangers just because the teacher praised him. He had no such high ideals, so he simply nodded with a smile in response.

"Tang Tian is the bravest and most capable among us. He fought those zombies alone. Now, please, Tang Tian, say a few words to help us understand the zombies better so we can effectively fight them in the future. Don't hold back, Tang Tian," the bald teacher said with a smile, as if he were the most caring teacher asking his student to give a speech. This made everyone look at Tang Tian.

Tang Tian threw away the apple core in his hand and stood up with a smile, saying, "Sure, sure. Everyone must have heard the voice in their heads, right? You can think of this as a game. The monsters outside are like the enemies in the game. Killing them helps you level up. It's that simple. Of course, the difference is that in this game, if you die, you really die and won't come back to life."

Tang Tian's words were simple. Some people seemed to understand, some had bright eyes, but others objected.

This person was a proud and beautiful girl. "Tang Tian, those zombies are so terrifying. How can we fight them? And as girls, can we get protection from the boys? Especially from you, Tang Tian. You are the strongest among us. I think our safety should be in your hands, right?"

"Sure, no problem," Tang Tian immediately stood up and said after the girl finished speaking.

Everyone was stunned by Tang Tian's straightforward answer but quickly realized he was just being perfunctory. But since he had said it, there wasn't much more to say.

Seeing that no one was speaking, Tang Tian continued, "To survive, relying on others for protection is only temporary. Only by becoming truly strong can you live safely. These zombies are not hard to deal with; they just look scary. Once you overcome your fear, their slow movements make them easy to handle."

Hearing Tang Tian's words, a few tall boys in the group were eager to try.

Tang Tian noticed their reactions and added, "I'll give you a tip. These zombies are the lowest level and easiest to handle. This is the best time to level up. You've probably received a notification that these zombies can evolve. If you miss this chance, it might be harder to deal with them tomorrow or the day after."

After saying this, Tang Tian sat down, not caring about their survival. He didn't know how long he would live, so he didn't care about their fate. What about the beautiful girl? Could she be food? In this world, beauty was just for show. Giving them a hint was enough; he didn't care what they did.

Tang Tian stopped talking, and the bald teacher stepped in to mediate, "Alright, let's take Tang Tian's advice, but we need to consider the actual situation. For example, the girls are naturally weaker, so we should take good care of them. Boys should take on their responsibilities."

He paused and continued, "Let's discuss how to deal with the zombies later. It's getting late, and I'm sure everyone is hungry. Since we're in the cafeteria, does anyone know how to cook? Can you make some food for everyone? That way, everyone will have the energy to do other things."

Hearing this, Tang Tian looked at his phone and realized it was already 7 PM. The early autumn evening didn't get dark quickly, and after so much fear, everyone realized they were starving.

The six people, including Shen Yun, who were initially saved by Tang Tian, looked awkward and stood to the side, clearly not knowing how to cook.

Everyone looked at each other, and finally, a shy girl with glasses stepped forward, volunteering to cook. She was dressed simply, clearly not from a wealthy family. Another sunny-looking boy also offered to help.

From Tang Tian's observation, these two were secretly eyeing each other, clearly a couple.

With the cooking issue resolved, the next concern was safety. Under the teacher's leadership, everyone had clear roles. The girls were assigned to fetch water and clean the hall, as no one would feel comfortable with black liquid everywhere. The few beautiful girls looked impatient and reluctant, but under everyone's watchful eyes, they had to pretend to do the work.

The boys were responsible for cleaning, and two of them were assigned to watch for any movements around. The rest moved tables and chairs to block the stairs leading downstairs, as no one wanted a sudden zombie attack.

After everything was set, they had a not-so-delicious meal, and night fell...
