With such a reminder from her, Su Qiuzi remembered that she had been hanging out with He Yu for a few days and they hadn’t even taken a picture. Her eyes brightened, she looked back at He Yu and called out, “Hubby.”

He Yu smiled gently and nodded his head, saying, “Okay.”

They didn’t have their cameras with them, so Su Qiuzi gave her phone to the man. She stood next to He Yu, the man shouted “eggplant”, which made Su Qiuzi laugh heartily.

Su Qiuzi thanked the man, took the phone, and saw a photo of her and He Yu.

The photo was well taken, in the church square, the two of them with their backs against the sunset, her head resting on He Yu’s shoulder, looking at the camera and smiling happily. The golden light of the sunset covered the two of them, adding a warm filter to the photo.

If only time could be frozen like a photograph, Su Qiuzi thought.

Su Qiuzi set this photo as her phone wallpaper, setting it up, and then another phone was suddenly handed to her. She looked up, He Yu smiled shallowly at her. Su Qiuzi chuckled as she took his phone and set one for him as well.

They strolled around Church Square until dusk, and after having dinner, He Yu took her to a small bar in Christchurch. The bars there were different from those in China, with a very contemporary atmosphere of jazz music and all kinds of food.

After spending time in the bar until eight o’clock in the evening, Su Qiuzi and He Yu went home. She would be returning to China tomorrow and she had to go home early to pack her bags. This time, she would leave on her own. He Yu would be staying in Christchurch until August and they would be living apart for a month.

The bar was in the town where their home was located and the two talked as they walked back home. The He family’s detached house brought with it a courtyard and once inside, Su Qiuzi ran to open the bedroom’s door. When the door opened, the warm air from the room blew out, but when Su Qiuzi pushed the door to go in, she found that He Yu didn’t follow her. Su Qiuzi looked back, a shattered piece of snow drifted past the corner of her eye and landed on the tip of her nose and melted.

Her eyelashes fluttered, and there stood He Yu in the courtyard, wearing a black overcoat, his body tall and slender, his cold white skin very clear under the moonlight. With his hands in his coat, he stood amidst the drifting snowflakes, looking at her with sideways eyes, the corners of his lips shallowly curled as he said in a deep voice, “It’s snowing.”

Christchurch would get snow once or twice a year and now, in the coldest July, the snowflakes in the sky fell quietly, spreading out on the glossy, wet ground.

Another snowflake landed on her forehead, cold and icy, Su Qiuzi looked up at the sky, the memory of snow in her mind was still the last time she had skied at the ski resort with He Yu.#pleasereadthischapteratfoxaholic.com

She said that her memories about the snow would include He Yu in the future and she kept her word. Su Qiuzi looked back at him for a moment and said, “I’ll remember you when it snows.”

He’d had some drinks at the bar tonight and his usual cool self-control was slightly let loose. He looked at her sideways, his inky black eyes staring at her for a long moment. He stood up straight and smiled shallowly, “You’ll always remember this.”

Not far away, the snowy town resounded with the sound of melodious music. When He Yu followed along with the music, he looked back, a layer of tenderness floating between his eyebrows and asked, “Do you know how to dance?”

Her heart burning, Su Qiuzi nodded as she laughed along with him and said, “Yes, but only a little.”
