CH 1

When Peijin saw herself in the mirror, her fingers couldn’t help but slightly tremble.

The unfamiliar, beautiful face in the mirror, was not hers at all. The current her was still called Peijin, but it wasn’t the Peijin she used to be.

The previous her was a high school senior who had just finished taking her college entrance exam. (1) Because she had just broken away from her hellish high school life, and was just about to welcome her blessed two-month summer vacation, in a moment of happiness she spent all night reading a book called All Men’s High School. This story could be said to be a benefit to a lot of girls. Various big, handsome boys in the novel completely treated the female lead, Xia Ying, as a close brother, a sworn brother. Each and every one of them would talk openly and frankly with her, keeping no words unsaid.

It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that the female lead was the favorite of the group.

Peijin wasn’t too content when she was reading the novel, especially since she felt it would be much better if she substituted herself in place of the female lead.It would be even more perfect if the good-for-nothing, supporting female character, who contrasted the female lead in the book, didn’t have the same name as her.

Although the supporting female character’s name looked to be a bit of an eyesore, the story’s plot truly made it hard for Peijin to not want to be her. Handsome men surrounded her sides from all sides, it was nice just thinking about it.

As a matter of fact, in this novel, the female lead, Xia Ying, wasn’t the only person to infiltrate the boy’s only high school.

In addition to the female lead, there was also the cannon fodder, supporting female lead.

Unlike the female lead who attended the boy’s only highschool in place of her sickly and weak brother in order to help his dreams come true, the supporting female lead didn’t have any large endeavours for her entrance.

Her motive for entering a boys’ only school was quite simple, it was in order to look at several handsome older brothers.

Naturally, for someone with the identity of a girl to be able to enter an all boy’s school, the female supporting character came from a pretty good background. Unfortunately, the last appearance of the novel’s cannon-fodder big miss wasn’t a positive one.

The students of the boys’ only school weren’t simpletons. If they didn’t discover whether a student they lived with round the clock was a boy or girl from the very start, then after a long time they would always be able to perceive inconsistencies in certain areas. Especially for the female lead and female supporting character, who both were very attractive. Even if a boy were to be considered however feminine, when compared with girls there would still be a few differences.

Let alone the fact that both the female lead and female supporting character simply didn’t have Adam’s apples. Perhaps those who were a bit more attentive would discover these differences early on.

It could be said that the female lead and female supporting character fell off their horse at just about the same time. (1) However, the following fate for the both of them after they were discovered (2) had been vastly different.

(1) To fall from grace, in their case, to be discovered as girls at the boys only high school.

(2) Original phrase is “fallen off their horses’, but there are vastly different interpretations, discover or ‘revealed’ would be the most suitable one in this context.

After it was known that the female lead had entered the boys’ only school in the place of her sickly brother, with the purpose of carrying out her big brother’s dream to enter college, all of the students expressed their sympathy and admiration for her one after another.

They showered all kinds of praise of the female lead’s noble sentiments, considering her a goddess who represented hope and love.

Shortly thereafter, the female lead’s gained a famous reputation, becoming a goddess who was known to all.

As for the female supporting character, after she fell from grace, she was labeled as a pervert of the highest degree. Even though her ideas had been completely pure and she hadn’t planned to go any farther than pursuing her goal of enjoying boys’ love (1).

Nevertheless, even if it had only been these intentions, all of the male students of the school threw rotten eggs at her (1) and called her a deadly pervert, eventually driving her out of the boys’ high school.

(1) 扔臭鸡蛋, or to throw rotten eggs, roughly translates to an idiom of ruining someone’s reputation.

After being driven away from the school in this fashion, the female supporting character was diagnosed with depression not long after and then ultimately died.

There was a sharp contrast between the female lead, who had gotten along swimmingly after her reveal, and the supporting female character’s pitiful circumstances. Not only did the female lead gain friendships, but she even obtained an enviable love that many desired for.

For Peijin, when reading, these kinds of stories were her favorite.

How could they show the remarkability and happiness of the female lead without this comparison? There would be no damage, no female supporting character on the side to serve as a foil.

But once she became the cannon-fodder female support character with the same name as herself, Peijin wasn’t laughing.

She had only read a small novel for the whole night, so why did she transmigrate?

Peijin brooded.

The time as to when she passed through wasn’t great. Right now, she was already at the dorms and the driver who had accompanied her to the school had already left. If the time she had transmigrated here had been slightly earlier, maybe she would’ve had more choices, but now……

With this, Peijin immediately took out her phone and dialed the number of the former owner’s father.

Since her father was able to take and squeeze her into this school, then could she could always go back on her word, right?

It had been hard to get in, but then didn’t that mean leaving would be easy?

With her heart full of hope, Peijin took her phone and placed it up by her ear. Right now, the beeping sound she heard from the phone sounded so beautiful and pleasant.

It took about half a minute before someone picked up the phone.

“Peijin.”

The original character’s father had a bit of an authoritative voice. Peijin instinctively pursed her lips and thought for a while before she cautiously opened her mouth to call out, “Dad.”

“Mhm, have you arrived at school? You must study well, don’t cause a ruckus.”

Peijin endearingly nodded her head. She didn’t even have any time to speak before the original character’s father, Pei Yi, continued to speak, “Dad doesn’t want to become a grandfather at his young age.”

These words caused Peijin’s face to become red. Whether it was before or after she had transmigrated, she had never become an adult (1). Before she had transmigrated, she was clever, sensible, and scored high grades. So naturally, no one had warned her of these things.

Peijin immediately replied, “Dad, this……Since you’re so worried, then it would be better if I didn’t go to this school?”

Peijin thought this was a great tactic since Father Pei was afraid of what impulsive things his daughter would do during her rebellious period, so wouldn’t it be better to transfer schools?

She didn’t expect that once her words came out, Father Pei’s voice would carry an obviously, somewhat weary and helpless tone when he replied, “Peipei, you caused such a commotion for so long because you wanted to change schools before, so dad could only agree in the end. Now, what awful ideas do you want to fuss about?”

Peijin felt that she was being sensible, how did she have any awful ideas in her head?

She quickly explained, “No, I just actually don’t like this school.”

Father Pei sighed and interrupted her, “Peipei, Dad is very busy working, can show some more consideration for me? Dad knows that you’re in a period of rebelliousness right now and you want more attention from your parents, but Dad is working hard for our family. Could you not be so indecisive?”

Peijin bit down hard on her lower lip, “Dad, I…..”

“You threw a tantrum because you wanted to attend a boys’ only school, fine, Dad agreed. Now you don’t want to go there. Peipei, Dad can also get tired and annoyed.”

“Dad, I’m sorry.”

Once he finished, it seemed like at the other end of the line Father Pei was speaking to his secretary. Only after a while passed did Father Pei start to speak again, “Peipei, Dad needs to attend a meeting. The conversation will have to end like so, stay at the boys’ only high school and study well. By the way, Dad has also been your age before. Although right now Dad doesn’t want to become a grandfather, if you can protect your body, it isn’t not possible for you to do some things. I’m hanging up.”

With this, Father Pei got straight to the point and hung up the phone.

Peijin held her breath for a good while before she slowly let back out.

Based on Father Pei’s attitude, it seemed that transferring schools right now wasn’t possible. That might have been because the original owner had been too rebellious in order to come study at this school and used drastic measures (1) when she was throwing a fit, causing Father Pei to lose his patience.

Maybe she could try again after a while.

Father Pei was a good dad, he had tried to satisfy his daughter’s request to the best of his abilities.

If she were to ask him a few more times, who said that it wouldn’t be possible to transfer schools.

Peijin felt that her life was unusually difficult. She had only just finished her prison-like senior year and didn’t even had the time to relax before in one night’s work, she had to fully undergo senior year again.

Right at this moment, Peijin’s phone suddenly sounded, a sum of fifty-thousand yuan had just been deposited in her account.

(50, 000 Yuan = Roughly 7,000 USD)

After the money had arrived in her account, a notification rang from her phone.

Peipei, take this as pocket money to spend. Study well at school, don’t think about transferring schools. Listen to Dad a bit more, don’t let Dad worry. —Dad.

After reading his short message, Peijin couldn’t help but lower her head. Since Father Pei had even used money to pacify her, it seemed she could only stay at this school and take everything step by step.

As the always obedient girl she was, when she saw these few helpless words, she truly didn’t have the heart to continue troubling the opposite party.

While a majority of the students lived in four-person dorms, she lived in a peaceful, two-person dorm.

If she would’ve had the choice, Peijin would rather live at an eight-person girl’s dormitory. At least in the hustle and bustle of an eight-person girl’s dorm she would feel more comfortable.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t make this decision. So she could only wait for the arrival of her remaining roommate in her two-person dorm.

The dorm had been newly-built in the last few years, it was a warm and comfortable space with potential for a great high school experience. However, when Peijin thought of the final outcome for the supporting female character she became nervous.

She felt that she should do something to prolong the time in which she would be discovered. With a bit of luck, maybe in a few days she could transfer schools?

Granted, even if she couldn’t transfer, after a year’s time, whether it was long or not, if she was careful maybe she could slip away unpunished?

Besides, after graduation, students wouldn’t have any contact between one another. When the time came, she promised that she would attend a school far away from her home here so she could leave.

Could they still chase her to university and scold her there?

With such a thought, Peijin felt that maybe she really could do something with herself.
