Fatty and the others couldn’t help but yell aloud ‘this motherfucker’ in their hearts, only feeling that Peijin was here to purposefully make a joke of them.

On purpose, surprised, and exciting, what the hell was these words supposed to mean? However they were currently in front of He Xun, so they didn’t say anything rude to Peijin.

When all was said and done, Peijin was He Xun’s roommate. Based on how he had reacted, they wouldn’t roast her there and then.

With his hands in his pockets, He Xun was the first to move, casually walking towards the classroom, “Were you guys waiting for me?”

Fatty reacted the most energetically, nodding fiercely as he heard him, “Yeah, Brother He.”

He Xun partially turned his head and shot him a glance, his low and deep voice pleasant to the ears, “Why?”

Intentionally winking at him, Fatty replied, “ ‘Cause I wanted to tell you something. We’re also planning to live on campus.”

He Xun slowly stopped walking.

Zheng Li giggled, “He Xun, how can we let you live by yourself at school? We will live next door to you, in the future, us brothers, can have freely have fun together.”

After they arrived in class, Fatty and the other two promptly looked for the class monitor to get dormitory applications.

Even though they were rarely patient, in order to be able to accompany He Xun and live on campus together, they had no choice but to hold back themselves, patiently filling in the boxes on the form.

It’s just that everyone wrote sloppily, that’s all.

Even if they were filling in the easiest of forms, to this group of slackers, there was an embarrassing amount of slip-ups.

Zheng Li spoke as he wrote, “Name, class, reason for applying to dorms…..” When he reached ‘reason for applying to dorms’, he shouted in irritation, “Oh my god, I’ll give, how are we supposed to fill in ‘reason for applying to dorms’? Does it mean we say that it’s because we want to hang out with He Xun?”

Zhang Chen rolled his eyes, “Where is your brain? We definitely can’t write that. For stuff like ‘reasons’ you can just write something random.”

Violently poking the words ‘application reason’, like he wanted to poke the paper into pieces, he asked “What did you say? I’ll just write what you did.”

Fatty was also came to his side, scratching his head, vexed, “Then I’ll fill it out with you guys.”

He Xun softly tapped on his desk with his index finger, “You’re filling it out to have more time to study.” Once you live on campus, it omitted the time to go home, but then wouldn’t it give you more time to study?

Despite the fact that they themselves or even the class teacher, knew that this reason was false, if it could pass on the surface then it was enough.

They would still be going through the standard procedures.

Fatty sounded out a ‘hey’, “That is a good reason, let’s all write the reason Brother Xun said.”

Once he finished the last stroke of his words, Fatty let out a heavy sigh of relief, “I’m finished.”

Filling out this one form had almost cost him his dear life.

Just as he finished his sentence, Zhang Chen began to ridicule him, “Finished? You finished so fast, Fatty, your body is too weak.”

With a ‘fuck’ to himself, Fatty could only feel that he had been too careless, actually letting catch him when his eyes weren’t peeled and getting laughed at.

On the sidelines, Zheng Li snickered, “Fatty, you really should lose weight.”

Fatty snorted, scornfully retorting, “Lose what weight? Is the food not good, or do I want to date?”

As his words came down, even the corner of He Xun’s eyes curved in mirth.

As for Peijin, she also raised her lips and gave a friendly laugh.

Faced before a scene like this for the second time, Peijin found that was she was surprisingly not as scared as she had been during their first meeting.

The first time Fatty had talked, He Xun jokingly said ‘Is it deep’ and the others consecutively chimed in, it had been really intimidating to her.

In her past life, a large number of her female classmates had shy personalities, furthermore the high school she attended had the highest local enrollment rate. At that time, the students in her class prioritized their education, so there was an intense atmosphere for studying, with absolutely no talks of subjects other than school. As for male students, she didn’t have much contact with them. Consequently, she rarely heard these colorful, teasing jokes.

It must be said that a human’s ability to adapt was indomitable. Although the second time she was still a bit shy, at the very least no strange expressions would rise on her face and she also wouldn’t arouse any of Fatty and the other’s suspicions.

After Fatty, Zheng Li, and Zhang Chen finished filling in the dormitory application forms, He Xun took out his phone.

He eyes raised, glancing at Peijin, “Add Wechat.”

Peijin was stunned, but then said ‘okay’. She didn’t ask for a reason, but afterwards her eyes swept over He Xun as she added the opposite party as her Wechat friend.

As soon as they added one another, He Xun sent a group chat invite.

He Xun invites you to join ‘Gathering place of Handsome Forces’ group chat, enter to access details?

‘Gathering place of Handsome Forces.’ Peijin silently read this group name in her head and then pressed her finger down on ‘confirm.’

After Peijin entered the group, Fatty and the others shared a glance. After that, they cheered her on by sending welcoming texts in the group chat.

Welcome newbie. [clap] [clap] [clap]

Welcome Fifth Brother.

At last, there is more people in the group. [happy] [happy] [happy]

Peijin looked at the last sentence, ‘At last, there is more people in the group.’ and her heart vaguely understood something about this matter.

It must’ve been a long time since they added someone here. Aside from He Xun, there was only Fatty, Zhang Chen and Zheng Li, the three of them.

They looked to have strong bonds with one another, so they should’ve known each other for a long time.

She never thought that in the short time she had gotten to know He Xun, he would pull her into his friend group.

He Xun stretched his long legs, still speaking in his usual aloof tone, “From now on we’re all brothers.”

Fatty was He Xun’s number one fan and younger brother, so naturally he would boost He Xun’s positions. Listening to his words, Fatty echoed at one side, “Right, we should stick together, for better or for worse.”

Zheng Li also hurried to express his own stance, “Peijin, in the future we will be your brothers.”

Zhang Chen followed closely after, “Good brothers, for life.”

Peijin ducked her head a bit, not wanting them to see the complicated look on her face.

They all thought she was a male student. A shame she wasn’t.

If they were to find out one day that Peijin had been deceiving them from beginning to end, she didn’t even know how they would react.

She thought, they would definitely be very disappointed.

They took her in as a brother, unfortunately she would be tricking them from the very start.

Although these weren’t her real intentions, deception was still deception.

He Xun noticed that Peijin was a bit off just now. He raised an eyebrow, “Nerd, what’s the matter?”

Only after hearing this question did Peijin suddenly snap out of her daze, quickly the restraining the emotions on her face and shaking her head, smiling as she said, “We are all brothers from now on.”

Not long after Peijin had just finished her words, the bell for class sounded.

She hurriedly seized this opportunity to return back to her seat.

If she stayed any longer, she was afraid she would’ve given herself away.

For something like lying, she had never done it in the past, and had never wanted to. However, she didn’t think that by transmigrating into the book, she would have told such a big lie. Furthermore, the target of her lies were even people who treated her with absolute sincerity.

After she returned to her seat, Peijin was still immersed within the scenes that had occurred a short while ago.

She hadn’t thought she would’ve actually been so lucky, to be able to successfully integrate into a cool and reliable clique not long after transmigrating.

Of course, this all was due to He Xun’s favour. Fatty and the others had all observed He Xun’s face before they took her in so quickly.

She quietly remembered how well her boss of a roomate was treating her.

Peijin looked at the groupchat displayed by wechat’s interface, and felt that her transmigration into this book wasn’t so bad. With this thought, she slightly let out a sigh of relief at last.

In the morning Peijin had thought of it like this, but as the afternoon came, she wouldn’t think anymore.

She had slapped herself in the face. (1)

(1) Idiom: Expectations do not match reality.

Contrary to her expectations, she was shunned by a most of the male students in her class.

As a matter of fact, this exclusive private school had no shortage of intrigue and schemes, even though they only had made students.

Where there was people there would be conflict, especially at a exclusive private school as there were many snobbish people. Quite a few people had strong tendencies to seek comparisons. Looking down on their family’s background as incomparable to themselves.

Peijin’s family’s social standing actually wasn’t that bad, the clothes she wore, trousers, shoes, also weren’t cheap. However, she couldn’t help her short height and the way her hair style looked as if a dog had crawled all over it. There was even a large pair of glasses framed on her face, making her look to be a bumpkin.

A majority of people bullied the weak and feared the strong, preferring to pick and squeeze on the soft permissions. (1) Peijin was a newly transferred ‘naive’ student, so she immediately became everyone’s target.

(1) Idiom: preference to pick on softer, weaker targets.

The male students in her class gave her several extremely unpleasant nick-names.

“Bumpkin.” “Midget.” “Glasses.” “Fugly.”(1)

(1) (t/n) The actual word means ‘Ugly monster/hideous’ but in actuality it’s far worse or endearing depending on how it’s used, ‘fugly’ is the closest t/l can get.

There were all sorts of nick-names, there were only those they couldn’t think of and none that they couldn’t create. Not only that but, there were a couple of nicknames that really could hurt one’s feelings.

A tall and stout male classmate was the one who took the initiative to repeatedly call her ‘Fugly’. This male student was called Liu Ze, a member of the basketball team, who normally despised weaklings like Peijin.

Plus, Peijin’s first impression was out of the norm with what he usually experienced, looking to be so frail that wind could knock her over. At once, she became Liu Ze’s most hated person.

In the afternoon, after their first class let out, Peijin had just gone to the restroom to grab some hot water and on the road back to class, she was stopped by Liu Ze and his three younger brothers. (1)

(1) ‘brothers = friend’, younger brother = younger friend, etc.

Liu Ze looked to be arrogant with a very aggressive attitude.

He was 1.93 meters tall (193cm or 6’3 feet). When he looked at Peijin it resembled a high mountain towering over a small sapling.

He sneered, “Transfer student.”

Peijin gave a ‘ah.’

“For someone so ugly, how do you have the nerve to hang out near us?”

Peijin’s mouth opened and she was momentarily stunned.

Seeing her act like this, Liu Ze and his brothers couldn’t help but start to wildly laugh.

“See, someone dumb like them, looks just like a dork.’

“This fugly guy really seems to be an idiot. Hahaha.”

“Guys look, look, they really are like that, this ugly face is enough to make me a laugh for a year. Hahahaha.”

Among the four people, the one who laughed the most uncontrallably was Liu Ze.

His face was full of contempt as he mercilessly displayed the campus’s violence, “Fugly, you’re ugly, slow, a stupid cunt.”

Peijin pursed her lips, not wanting to confront them head on. She knew Liu Ze wasn’t meant to be messed with, so she treated him like he was an egg hitting a rock. Apart from getting hurt herself, she couldn’t be the slightest bit petty.

Peijin was just thinking about smoothing things over, bypass them, and leave. Right then, Liu Ze’s ridiculing abruptly stopped.

Someone punched him, causing him to fall onto the floor.

One punch, from start to finish it was really just one punch.

He Xun sneered, a fist in his hands. He raised his foot and stamping on Liu Ze’s chest.

After stomping on him, he didn’t forget to grind down.

“What’s the point of targeting them? If you want to go against anyone, come to me, thanks.”
