With a dull pain in his chest, after Liu Ze had looked to clearly see the person who had hit him was He Xun, his narrowed eyes widened. For a moment, he didn’t dare to believe it, “He…He Xun?”

He Xun looked down at him condescendingly with a spurious smile.

Liu Ze coughed twice and enduring the pain in his chest, he slowly questioned, “Brother Xun, what did I do wrong, what are you hitting me for?”

In this aristocratic, boys-only high school, it may as well be said that class was very clearly defined. From the bottom to the top, the general idea assumed it’s distribution to be a pyramid shape. Evidently, most people were in the bottom group.

As for He Xun, he was obviously one of the few people that stood on top of the pyramid’s apex.

Liu Ze had the nerve to bully Peijin in such a way, he stopped them after class and then gave her a disgusting name, only seeing her as easy to torment. Inside of this noble school, position and status were extremely important. For someone like Peijin, she was clearly in the bottom or middle brackets of the pyramid, so bully her at will, but when it came to touching He Xun, he felt a bit afraid.

This year, people generally preferred to describe a powerful person as ruthless (1), however in Liu Ze’s opinion, ruthless wouldn’t be enough to describe He Xun.

(1) In Chinese, the word used in ruthless and the word ‘wolf’ are homonyms, so the author is doing a play on words with it by first calling him ruthless, then wolf.

He Xun was a fuckin’ werewolf. In the midst of those werewolves, he as the wolf king, whoever dared to provoke him was asking for bad luck.

Yet to his impression on Liu Ze, He Xun was a lazy and nonchalant person who never meddled in others’ affairs. For the most part he could say that it had nothing to do with him, that it was far from his business. So on this occasion, when Liu Ze was aware that he hadn’t provoked He Xun, why had He Xun moved against him?

It wasn’t only Liu Ze who was confused, but his other brothers felt the same way.

Was He Xun actually starting to interfere?

The other three people resembled chicks as they bowed their heads, afraid to even fart. Feigning deafness and ignorance they desperately wished their presence would decrease bit by bit.

When He Xun heard this question, he drove his foot down with all his might again. Liu Ze closed his eyes and cried out in pain, repeatedly begging for mercy.

He Xun’s lips twitched, embodying the very essence of feral unruliness, “You touched my brother.”

Liu Ze eyes were blank, he remained dumbfounded for a good few seconds until he realized what He Xun’s words meant.

When he understood, his heart filled with humiliation and anger.

From the start, he had believed the transfer student would’ve been the easiest to pick on, but he hadn’t expected them to be so shrewd, grabbing onto the thickest thigh in the whole school as soon as they had transferred. (1)

(1) There is a Chinese phrase referring to ‘grabbing onto the golden calf/thigh’, this means to cling onto someone in order to receive their luck, blessings, wealth, etc.

He Xun’s feet had been merciless, and on top of that he had been wearing leather Doc Martins. These types of shoes had very hard bottoms and when combined with great strength, they could easily harm someone. Liu Ze’s chest hurt, he suddenly breathed in a breath of cold air and apologized erratically, “He Xun, I’m sorry, I really didn’t know they were your brother.”

He Xun scolded him once, “Now you know.”

Liu Ze understood the current situation very well, he hurriedly turned to Peijin, who was standing at the side and apologized, “Transfer student, I’m truly sorry, from now on I will focus on being a good person.”

Once Liu Ze apologized, his three friends followed suit and rushed to shout ‘I’m Sorry’ at Peijin, even copying in succession what Liu Ze had said, that they would be good people.

Peijin was taken aback by this behavior and she retreated a few steps back, instinctively glancing at He Xun.

He Xun’s wild ferocity was fully displayed by his body. The darks of his eyes were apathetic, after he noticed Peijin’s eyes on him, he nonchalantly smiled, “It’s your choice to reject or accept their apology.”

Peijin didn’t have a personality that liked to cause trouble. Since Liu Zhe and the others had apologized so sincerely and wholeheartedly to her, she was unable to hold any grudges on this matter.

With this, she nodded her head and softly replied, “I accept your apologies.”

Liu Ze let out a sigh of relief, “Thank you so much, transfer student.”

He Xun slowly took back the foot he had on Liu Ze’s chest.

After Liu Ze got up, holding a hand over his chest he cautiously sounded out his next words, “Brother Xun, then I’ll be returning to class?”

He Xun gave a faint ‘uh-huh’ in reply.

Once he obtained this pardon-like ‘uh-huh’, Liu Ze and his brothers quickly slipped away.

He Xun’s originally smoothed out shirt was now a bit wrinkled.

Peijin slowly walked a few steps toward him.

He Xun drew up his sleeves to his elbows, looking her up and down, “You alright?”

Peijin shook her head and tightly held onto her water bottle in her hands, “I’m fine. Brother Xun, thanks for just now.”

He clicked his tongue, “If you’re a man, then don’t be such a weakling, understand?”

Peijin gave a slight nod of her head.

She also knew how she had acted earlier definitely must’ve been very unbecoming. When Liu Ze and his younger brothers had been asking for a fight, she didn’t dare talk back to them, her heart only thought ‘the less trouble, the better’. If she were to retort, then the opposition might even have gotten more energetic.

This type of behavior, falling before He Xun’s eyes, must’ve made her look very inexperienced.

However, she truly would never learn to be as vicious as He Xun.

Not only was it because she was actually a girl, but also because ‘cruelness’ had never been an aspect of her nature.

Peijin tilted her head to the side, commending him, “Brother Xun, how could I compare to you. Still, don’t I have you to cover for me?” So, if she was a bit scared, then might as well show it.

Hearing her words, He Xun’s lips lifted into a smirk, “Nerds will be nerds, but when they say nice things they do it well.” With that, he turned around and stepped forward to head back to class, “Come on, back to class.”

“Okay.”

Once they returned to the classroom, Peijin discovered that the atmosphere inside the room had changed subtly.

When she had first started attending class, she was no different from an invisible person, many people wouldn’t look her in the eyes alot. However this time she returned to class, some people unexpectedly took the initiative to greet her. Although it was nothing more than a simple ‘hey’, the implications weren’t.

This meant that her classmates were gradually coming to accept her.

Peijin looked around and then she immediately understood why.

Earlier, outside the classroom, at the scene where He Xun had gotten angry on her behalf, probably had been near quite a few peoples’ view.

As soon as they knew she was He Xun’s younger brother, their attitudes made a complete 180.

The reason they had admitted her so easily was all thanks to He Xun’s image.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt that her roommate was amazing.

He was so renowned in an all boys’ high school of this size, it was almost like even the novel’s male lead, Ji Chengjue, wasn’t even as damn awesome as him.

Yet for someone so powerful, had they really not appeared in the book?

Peijin felt like she had definitely missed something.

Right then, the bell for class rang and the current instructor trampled in as it sounded.

Peijin quickly collected her thoughts and started to earnestly focus on class.

However, during class, her phone ceaselessly vibrated inside of her backpack.

While the teacher was distracted, she sneakily took out her phone to take a look.

In that short amount of time, the groupchat, Gathering Place of Handsome Forces had over 999 notifications, and many of them had been @’ing her.

[ Became a Fatty in One Bite: Little five, don’t pay any attention to that group of dorks, from now on they won’t dare do anything to you. ]

[ Zheng Family’s Little Prince: Hahaha, our Ah-Xun (1) is really fucking awesome.]

(1) Adding an ‘ah’ to the front of your name in Chinese, i.e Ming = Ah’Ming, is an endearing, intimate way to call on someone, especially if they’re close friends/family.

[ Skyful of Stars (Chen) (1): Brother Xun quoted: ‘If you’re going to target anyone, target me, thanks. ‘ That damn hard-head really tried to fight. ]

(1) This is Zhang Chen, his name ‘Chen’ is a play on words when added to the word star, literally it means ‘star time’, but it’s stars, so it could also be ‘Skyful of Chen.’ T/n will include (Chen) next to his name to indicate him.

[ Became a Fatty in One Bite: In terms of ruthlessness, who can beat our Brother Xun? What to do, I’m crushing more and more on Brother Xun. ]

[ Skyful of Stars (Chen): It’s been a long time since Brother Xun personally made a move, it’s a shame I wasn’t there earlier to see heroic Brother Xun. ]

[ Zheng Family’s Little Prince: Lololol, @Little Five, with Ah-Xun covering you, later on you can do as you please in school. ]

…..

The conversation in the group chat was bustling with activity.

At once, Peijin recognized the names. Became a Fatty in One bite should be Fatty, Zheng Family’s Little Prince was Zheng Li, and Skyful of Stars was Zhang Chen.

As for the group leader, He Xun, he hadn’t even said a single word. Peijin felt that even though he didn’t speak much, it was without a doubt that he was a powerful person.

At this point, Peijin had discovered that her name had been changed by someone, so her name in the group chat was now Little Five.

There were only five people displayed to be behind this group chat, Gathering Place of Handsome Forces. In addition, she was the only new person.

Peijin couldn’t help but rejoice once again at her good luck.

She exited the group chat and looked for He Xun’s wechat she had added earlier, then she changed his nickname: Demon King.

A short while ago, when he had hit someone, Peijin felt that He Xun’s feral nature seemed to shoot through the sky.

Undoubtedly, he always groomed himself to look neat, keeping his hairstyle in pristine condition. His looks were unrivaled in how handsome he was, but she hadn’t thought there had been anything wild and unruly traits flowing through his veins.

Peijin turned off her phone and prepared to thoroughly go over All Handsome Men’s Highschool’s plot from top to bottom again.

It didn’t make sense that her Big Demon King roommate wouldn’t even have a single appearance in the book.

In her opinion, so long as the Demon King existed for a day, something like a male lead such as Ji Chengjue should’ve never existed.

Author’s note: The Female Lead’s appearance in the story is a ‘she’. However, since she has not fallen from grace yet, others will look at her as a ‘he’.
