Chapter 9

“I thought there would be a ring.”

“Oh, the overall look of the ring changes depending on the jewel. If you choose the jewelry you like, I’ll make you a ring.”

Phil’s face got serious.

“I don’t know that, but doesn’t it take a long time?”

“It takes at least 15 days…”

The man didn’t seem to have much time. The jeweler looked at Estelle and the man and added, “At the earliest, within a week!”

“Do you have any rings already made?”

“There is, but…”

The jeweler insisted that the quality was poor. Estelle raised her eyebrows.

“It’s a wedding ring, do you want to buy a made one?”

“I don’t have much time…”

“How much time do you have?”

“Just about 15 to 20 days…” The man hesitated and opened his mouth again.

“I have to go back before 15 days.”

“Then why don’t you come on the day you return to the capital?”

“Then it’ll be after the wedding ceremony.” Estelle’s mouth snapped open.

Aside from love, is it really okay to get married in that way, like roasting beans in lightning?

Phil was also embarrassed.

“Is it weird? My friends stopped me, but…”

“Of course!”

Estelle shouted loudly. The envy of the woman marrying Phil disappeared in an instant.

Really, such a man exists! From the looks of it, it seemed that he didn’t know the importance of jewels.

Estelle told the jeweler, “Show me a quality sapphire and tourmaline of more than 1 carat! Diamonds, too!” she beckoned.

The man tried to stop her, but Estelle was adamant.

“Everything can be done within a week!”

The jeweler quickly brought out a nice jewelry box. Jewels that had finished the work were placed in front of them, but the man still looked troubled.

“Everything looks good…”

Estelle immediately opened her mouth, wondering if the price was burdensome.

“It’s not that expensive here. No matter what you choose, it won’t cost more than 2,000 shillings. This one and this one are really pretty.”

This time, the jeweler’s eyes widened. It was the eyes that signalled that the lady must have gone crazy.

2,000 shillings? It was even more difficult to find gems under 2,000 shillings here.

But Estelle winked at the jeweler. I’ll pay for it, so it’s okay. The jeweler wondered for a moment, and soon remembered the word “benefactor” and convinced him.

But unexpectedly, a bewildering reaction came back from the man.

“What? Is jewelry that cheap?” Estelle blinked. Phil asked back, turning his good-looking eyes on her.

“My friends said that I would have to use at least 300,000 shillings to get a wedding ring, so I thought that…”

Oh, I didn’t know you were so rich… Estelle was at a loss for words for a moment. It was the jeweler who was the most agile on the spot. He pricked his ears when he heard the word 300,000 shillings, and suddenly pulled out a splendid jewelry box.

“Here’s a better one!”

Estelle opened her eyes wide. Those were jewels that could be used for grand nobles or marriage. “With that budget, you can buy the best things in our store!”

An oval-cut sapphire the size of a bird that a queen would wear. Things like beautiful bicolor tourmaline and clear peridot. A large, transparent ruby that is almost blood-colored.

“Wow…”

“If you don’t mind, can you pick one for me?”

“Me?” Estelle jumped up. Phil smiled awkwardly

“I’m not familiar with things like this.”

“But isn’t the wedding ring chosen by another woman a bit weird?”

“Oh, is that so, too? But I think you’d better choose.” The young man who said so hurriedly added when he saw Estelle’s bewildered face.

“I think you have a discerning eye.”

“But my taste is not someone else’s!” Estelle shook her head, and the man pondered and asked her again.

“Then what looks the best here?”

“Well, something that looks good…”

Estelle pointed to a sapphire the size of a bird’s egg with her finger, “This looks the best.”

“Oh, of course! It’s the best item in our store! Perhaps a sapphire this size, even if you go through all the kingdoms…”

The man beckoned off the jeweler’s babbling and gave a short instruction.

“Then this.”

“Yes!”

The jeweler responded with the brightest smile Estelle had ever seen. He asked Phil to check the inclusions of the sapphire and presented it in front of the man, constantly muttering things about the size of the sapphire.
