Chapter 13
‘How would your wife feel if she heard that her husband went bankrupt as soon as she got married?’
The man only laughed at the words. She couldn’t even get angry at the neat smile. It wasn’t something to get angry about in the first place. Estelle began to interfere with the man like that. Such a day became two days, and two days became three days then four days.
Yesterday, the fourth day, was the highlight. Estelle, who had vowed to herself that today is the last, the man laughed and said, ‘That restaurant is very good, and I plan to propose there.’
Are you kidding me? What a terrible level of food there is!
In the end, Estelle came forward and booked this restaurant. Originally, she was going to ask for a date for the proposal and make a separate reservation, but the man opened his eyes wide and said with a smile.
‘If you like that restaurant, let me treat you to a meal. It’s embarrassing because I’ve been so indebted to you these past few days.’
Estelle was really curious about Phil’s parents.
‘Is your mother a magician?’
‘Yes? What….’
‘I’m asking if she’s a great magician who gave birth to a son who has magic to get rid of my desire to refuse with just a smile.’
When asked like that, pouting her lips, the man giggled and immediately laughed wildly. The laughter was so loud that Estelle was embarrassed. The man, who even laughed in tears, took a step further to Estelle.
‘I wonder if Moa’s mother is a great magician.’
‘Why? Is it because I’m so pretty?’
Estelle was deliberately answered. But the man looked at her for a moment and smiled and replied.
‘Yes.’
Her face turned red in an instant. For Estelle, who forgot what to say to answer at the moment, Phil added one more sentence.
‘Of course, you also seem to have a magic that makes everyone you meet fall in love with, even if it’s not your appearance.’
‘Phil!’
‘The most amazing thing is that it’s not magic.’
She tried to respond to that, but it was hard to find what to say. Moreover, he moved straight to another topic before Estelle could respond.
‘Is there anything that women like? My friend said that the opera in the capital theater is very interesting.’
‘Ah, the opera… It’s good. I like them.’
Estelle, who answered as if possessed, even promised to watch an opera with him when she came to her senses. She wondered where the good seats were.
It couldn’t have been more of a feeling to repay her. Estelle once again became envious of Phil’s partner.
Anyway, these days, as anyone said, she felt like she was in a heart-fluttering relationship. The young man was the type to be honest and say what he felt without hesitation.
However, there is a kindness between those words, so it is a personality that makes the person with him feel good. Just like that before, Phil admired the view of the seat with her and expressed his great gratitude to Estelle.
‘It’s a sight that makes you fall in love with the person next to you.’
No, no. It didn’t make her feel better. Hearing those words, Estelle seemed to fall for him. It was precisely the words she wanted to misunderstand. Despite knowing that ‘the person next to you’ is not herself.
The young man had been away for a while. In the meantime, Estelle began to guess where the man was from and what he was doing.
“I don’t know much about you.”
It was half a joke, of course.
Because Phil came out looking pretty good today. The well-dressed appearance was tearfully wonderful. In addition, he held a bouquet of sunflowers for Estelle in his arms.
Sunflowers were flowers sent to women by men who wanted to confess their feelings because of their nature of looking at the sun.
In the north, including the capital, it was impossible to dream of seeing real flowers, and magicians sold them with conservation magic, which was surprisingly expensive. Estelle thought that the man must have been ripped off at the flower shop again.
They must have asked him to choose, saying that he has to give it to the person he’s grateful for and that it’s a girl’s thing.
Anyway, in the capital, flowers were never given to strangers.
“But it’s a common flower in the south, so it’s often a gift. I’m sure he gave it to me without thinking.” [Estelle]
Nicky snorted.
“You know that’s what you want to think, right? [Nicky]
“…do you have any complaints?” [Estelle]
“You know, well. But why do you think he’s from the South?”
Nicky asked. Estelle shrugged her shoulders.
“He has a good personality.” [Estelle]
“…Even a northerner can have a good personality, right?”
“What are you talking about? Northerners are very scary. Stubborn! They live in the cold and are very sensitive!” [Estelle]
Nicky gave up refuting Estelle, who opened her eyes wide to ask what she was talking about. Nicky seemed frustrated with her. But Estelle was convinced Phil was from the South.
