Raul irritably scratched his head, wanting to smoke a cigarette, but then realized he had already lost his lighter. This made him even more frustrated, and he rubbed his cheeks forcefully, saying bitterly, "Connect it."

Raul knew without a doubt that it must have been that bastard Kahn who directly contacted the base; otherwise, the base would not have contacted them directly.

Sure enough, as soon as the communication was connected, Raul saw General Soros appear on the computer screen.

"Raul. I have received Dr. Kahn's recommendation. My opinion is to follow his advice. This is an order! Colonel, tell me, will you obey the order!"

Raul could not care less about Kahn, but he could not ignore General Soros's order, because whether in the past or now, as long as Soros said a word, he could decide the fate of Raul and his team.

So Raul took a deep breath and said solemnly, "General, I have the right to refuse a task that I and my team cannot accomplish!"

"There is no such thing as an impossible task in my dictionary!" General Soros shouted, "Dr. Kahn will contact you. He will tell you how to do it. Remember, everything you are doing now, including the sacrifices, is a great contribution to the human race's revival."

Raul said nothing and cut off the signal directly. A moment later, Dr. Kahn's communication came in, and Raul immediately gave him the middle finger without hesitation, "Kahn, you bastard! Are you blind! Didn't you see what just happened! You want to capture that zombie, so let the base send a brigade over, damn it!"

"I saw it. Damn, that zombie killed a King!" Dr. Kahn shouted angrily, his eyes red, completely ignoring Raul's furious roar, "Raul, you must bring that zombie back. A King has already been killed, and there is another one that is likely M3. Damn, that zombie killed my treasure!"

Dr. Kahn's eyes were red with excitement, "But it doesn't matter. As long as you bring that zombie back, it will be the same. By the way, bring back the Terminator too..."

"Are you an idiot!" Raul swore that if Dr. Kahn were in front of him now, he would beat his face to a pulp, "That zombie is now holding a Gatling gun and a damn single-shot rocket launcher. How do you expect us to capture it? Transform? Do you think we are Spider-Man or Superman?!"

"Do you think I am as stupid as you?" Dr. Kahn laughed mockingly, "That zombie has devoured a King and a giant zombie. It will soon enter a dormant state for further evolution. All you need to do is find it and bring it back. It's that simple. Don't tell me you can't do it!"

Dr. Kahn's tone became sharp, "Yes, it's that simple. It will soon enter a dormant state. The recombination of its genetic structure will put it into a deep sleep. I don't know how long this will last, so you need to speed up!"

Raul was stunned, took a deep breath, and knew that although Kahn was crazy and a bastard, he never lied about science.

"I need a more detailed explanation, otherwise, I have the right to refuse this task." Raul calmed down. If what Dr. Kahn said was true, then this task was indeed possible to complete.

"There are documents in your tactical tablet, research papers from China's Luo. Damn, didn't you even bother to read them!" Dr. Kahn became irritated, not sure if he was angry at Raul's questioning or at the fact that his research on zombies had fallen far behind Dr. Luo Shui from China.

Raul nodded and immediately opened his tactical tablet, quickly finding the document Dr. Kahn mentioned.

"Zombie evolution will surpass our imagination, not only because the genetic chains in zombies are completely controlled by the Dead Virus, but also because the mutual devouring of evolved zombies will cause their genes to recombine in a very short time."

"Why do evolved zombies devour each other? Under the collapse of the genetic chain, this is an instinctive pursuit of superior genes, which temporarily balances the collapsing genetic chain in zombies..."

"During the gene recombination process, there will be a brief dormancy period. During this time, the evolved zombie will temporarily lose its ability to move due to the intense recombination of genes, followed by an even more terrifying evolution."

"Survival of the fittest, devouring, dormancy, evolution. The devouring among zombies is a battle at the genetic level. From this perspective, zombie evolution will reach its peak in a very short time..."

After reading the document, Raul finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had heard of the name Luo from China. Although he had only recently appeared, he had single-handedly brought Chinese research on zombies to the forefront of the world. Several papers that had been circulated had been recognized by scientists worldwide.

Since it was confirmed that evolved zombies would indeed enter a dormant state after devouring their kind, Raul no longer resisted the task. Although he did not know how long the dormant state would last, he had seen the zombie devour a King and a giant zombie. Raul knew that this dormant state could not possibly end in just a few minutes.

However, the question was how they were supposed to find the zombie they needed in the vast darkness among countless zombies?

Thinking about this, Raul frowned, "Did anyone see which direction the zombie ran?"

Everyone looked at each other blankly. At that time, everyone was too busy escaping to pay attention to where the zombie had gone.

"Damn!"

Raul was almost furious, and the Dr. Kahn on the screen screamed angrily, "Raul, I don't care how you do it, but you must find it and capture it!"

"Shut up!" Raul cut off the communication and rubbed his cheeks, "Alright. Guys, we need to find that zombie as soon as possible. Any ideas?"

Everyone looked at each other, all with bitter smiles. After a moment, Charlie slowly spoke, "I'm not sure, it was too far away. But can you show me the image of that zombie?"

Raul nodded and handed over the night vision binoculars. Charlie took the binoculars, found the image automatically captured by the night vision binoculars, and played it on the computer. When the image stopped at the moment the zombie held a pendant in its mouth, Charlie sighed, "Boss, I know who this zombie is."

Raul was stunned, "What do you mean?"

"Li Mu. Didn't I tell you? I once encountered a zombie..." Charlie's words made Raul immediately realize that when they rescued Charlie, Charlie had indeed mentioned a zombie named Li Mu.

Could the zombie they were looking for now be the same zombie Charlie had encountered, named Li Mu?

"It should be him. Although he has changed a lot, I won't mistake that pendant. The first generation of meteorites from Hua Wei Company had a positioning system installed..." Charlie's words were cut off by Raul's excited wave.

"Crack it! Whether your guess is true or not, it's worth a try."

Raul said, treating a dead horse as if it were alive.

Charlie nodded and started typing on the keyboard. Three minutes later, Charlie looked up, "I found it."

In the dim room, a faint blue light flickered, and a gentle melody played softly. The beautiful woman in the projection smiled, standing in the blue light. The terrifying zombie gently leaned against the blue projection, its spiky tail resting on the ground, trembling slightly, its eyes closed, and its fierce face showing a hint of calm and gentle expression.

Suddenly, a gust of wind blew from the balcony, and the sound of a helicopter gradually drowned out the gentle melody. Ten minutes later, a rope dropped from the helicopter, and a fully armed soldier slid down to the balcony.

Agile and nimble, the soldier rolled and gently pushed the balcony door, peering into the room. Seeing the peaceful and serene figure in the blue projection, he breathed a long sigh of relief, "I found it."

Raul whispered, gently pushing the door open and holding his breath. If the zombie made any movement, he would immediately retreat.

"Safe." After three minutes, Raul was already less than three meters away from the zombie, and it had not moved at all. Raul finally calmed down and issued the order. Soon, the others also slid down the rope and entered the room.

"Damn. I always thought you were lying. I didn't expect it to be true." Even though he had heard Charlie's story before, seeing the terrifying zombie so peacefully bathed in the blue projection, deeply asleep, the gentle melody instantly eased the tension in the air, making Raul whisper to Charlie.

Charlie said nothing, just staring at the zombie. Even though it had changed a lot, Charlie still recognized it as Li Mu.

The beautiful woman in the blue projection was etched in his memory, and he could not forget this zombie named Li Mu, whose determination was so admirable that even knowing he was a zombie, one could not help but feel moved and sympathetic.

"Alright. Don't think too much. A zombie is still a zombie, even if it retains some memories. Capture it successfully, and we retreat." Raul gently patted Charlie's shoulder, feeling a bit emotional himself.

Seeing the bloodthirsty zombies before, suddenly encountering a zombie like Li Mu was indeed shocking. Even when Li Mu picked up the Gatling gun and the single-shot rocket launcher and killed the King, it was not as impactful as seeing him now, standing quietly in the blue light, leaning against the beautiful woman, looking so peaceful.

This zombie was different.

Strangely, this thought arose in the hearts of every member of Raul's team. The zombie, bathed in the blue projection, looking so peaceful and serene, made them feel that it was more like a person than a zombie.
