Chapter 9

Under the cover of night, Li Mu suddenly moved, his speed like lightning, so fast that it left a trail in the air. He acted decisively, almost as soon as the King abandoned control over him and instead used an incredible mental force field to disrupt the electronic signals of the Terminator.

Li Mu was already in motion, running like the wind. In the disbelieving gaze of Lao Er and the others, he leaped, covering a distance of over ten meters, passing by the massive zombie and charging straight to the Terminator.

His right hand, a bone knife, flashed in the air, incredibly sharp. With one swift motion, he severed the Terminator's right arm at the elbow. The bone spines on his back moved nimbly, catching the falling minigun and holding it steady in the air.

His grayish-white eyes were cold and emotionless. Li Mu put the pendant in his mouth, aimed the gun, and placed his left hand firmly on the trigger of the minigun, pressing down hard.

Rat-tat-tat!

The rough sound of the minigun echoed through the night, the gunfire fierce and the metal storm overwhelming. The five-meter-tall massive zombie was immediately forced back by the barrage.

With a swift motion of his right hand, the single-shot rocket launcher from the Terminator fell. The bone spines on Li Mu's back whistled, releasing the minigun and firmly grasping the rocket launcher. His grayish-white eyes were cold, and he pressed the launch button hard.

Boom!

The rocket launcher fired, and a terrifying explosion echoed. The massive zombie, just getting up, was hit with a destructive force, the kind that could bring down helicopters and tanks. The rocket launcher unleashed a power beyond the zombie's imagination.

The flames of the explosion rose, and the massive zombie screamed in pain, its upper body torn to pieces. The flames illuminated the night, creating a stunning scene.

Li Mu's face was expressionless, his grayish-white eyes flashing with a cold, blood-red light. He walked out of the still-burning flames, his right hand holding the bone knife, which gleamed in the firelight. The bone spines on his back twisted, securing the rocket launcher in the air.

His left hand, which had somehow picked up the minigun, dragged the cold, golden bullet belt on the ground, making a clinking sound that sent shivers down the spines of those watching.

This sudden turn of events happened in just a few seconds, too fast for anyone to react, let alone the King.

Only after Li Mu used the rocket launcher to completely eliminate the massive zombie did the King finally react, screeching in a high-pitched voice. But what greeted it was the slowly turning minigun.

The gunfire and the sound of the spent shells hitting the ground sent a chill through Lao Er and the others, making them doubt what they were seeing.

As a human, Lao Er could accept the various inexplicable mutations of the zombies. Even if Li Mu had suddenly shed his zombie skin and become a true demon, displaying superhuman abilities and crushing the massive zombie and the King, Lao Er could accept it.

But he could not accept that Li Mu had taken the minigun from the Terminator, picked up the rocket launcher, and used human weapons to cleanly and efficiently eliminate the massive zombie, while also suppressing the King with the minigun like a Terminator.

"This is not scientific!"

Dr. Kahn suddenly screamed, his eyes flashing with horror. Although he was a staunch supporter of using zombies to enhance human weapons and had even created the Terminator himself, he knew that this was the result of scientific research.

The Terminator, despite its zombie skin, was controlled by a computer, which allowed it to manipulate human weapons and form a terrifying combat force.

But now, Li Mu was a pure zombie, a mindless, soulless, and thoughtless creature that could evolve beyond human limits under the control of the virus. However, using human thermal weapons should not have been one of its abilities.

If zombies could shoot and fight, what was the point of humans?

Rat-tat-tat!

The minigun continued to fire, and Li Mu, like a Terminator, held the minigun and advanced towards the King. Although he didn't have the computer to correct the trajectory, his strong left hand could still control the minigun's recoil, maintaining a steady aim and unleashing a metal storm.

The zombies in front of the King fell one by one, their blood gradually staining the entire street. The King screeched, its sound waves visibly wreaking havoc in the street, shattering all glass. The King was clearly in despair.

Dark blood trickled from its grayish-white eyes, and its voice grew more and more shrill. Li Mu's movements were affected, each step seeming extremely difficult, his muscles trembling. Clearly, he was struggling against the King's mental storm.

"The frequency has exceeded 100 Hz and is still increasing!"

Dr. Kahn went into a frenzy. This unprecedented battle had excited him to the point of madness. The King's terrifying mental control and Li Mu's incredible human-like intelligence gave Dr. Kahn a new understanding of zombies.

This was a groundbreaking discovery. Dr. Kahn swore that if he could get these two zombies, he would make a breakthrough in zombie research, removing any obstacles for the survivors.

"Capture them, I must get them!" Dr. Kahn shouted excitedly.

Lao Er, trembling, lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and let the nicotine calm his nerves. "Ascend, ascend immediately!"

Ignoring Dr. Kahn's words, Lao Er shouted to the pilot. Let the zombies fight it out; they would not interfere.

"Damn it, who the hell wants to get involved? Who? I won't do it!"

Lao Er stubbed out his cigarette, his eyes red. The events of the night had been too much for him. The helicopter ascended, ignoring Dr. Kahn's screams, and the battle below became a small, indistinct shadow.

Despite this, Lao Er and the others could see that the battle was nearing its end. When the King's strongest guard, the five-meter-tall massive zombie, was eliminated by Li Mu with the rocket launcher, and Li Mu had the minigun, he became unstoppable, even for zombies.

The King's cries grew weaker and finally stopped. Li Mu's grayish-white eyes were clouded with a blood-red mist, and the minigun slowly stopped turning, the hot barrel glowing red, making everyone's hearts race.

But Li Mu paid no attention, stepping towards the King. Along the way, the ground was littered with the torn and shredded remains of zombies, torn apart by the minigun's metal storm.

Standing coldly before the King, whose body was riddled with bullet holes and nearly disintegrated, its grotesque face twitching as if it could rise from hell to fight Li Mu to the death.

The blood-red mist in Li Mu's grayish-white eyes grew thicker, and the bone spines on his back whistled, piercing the King's head. Blood slowly covered the bone spines, and the King's body withered visibly, leaving only a dried, bullet-riddled skin on the ground, making everyone's skin crawl.

Seeing this, Lao Er instinctively reached for a cigarette, but his hands trembled, and he couldn't light it. Frustrated, he threw the lighter, which he had once cherished, to the ground.

After consuming the King's flesh with his bone spines, Li Mu's face remained expressionless. He turned and walked to the massive zombie, which was still struggling to get up. The bone spines whistled through the air and pierced the massive zombie's head.

Li Mu's grayish-white eyes were completely blood-red, his eyes so red they seemed to drip blood. His muscles began to tremble uncontrollably. When the bone spines had consumed the massive zombie, leaving only a dried skin, Li Mu's pupils turned completely blood-red, filled with a疯狂的嗜血气息. He suddenly looked up, and the piercing red eyes made Lao Er's heart leap, as if he had been targeted by a demon, almost falling from the helicopter.

A terrifying feeling rose in Lao Er's heart, and he shouted, "Ascend immediately! Now!"

The pilot hesitated for a moment, then gasped. He had also seen the terrifying zombie, which had displayed incredible intelligence, turning the tables and killing the King and the massive zombie. The zombie's left hand lifted, and the rocket launcher reappeared in its blackish-green arm.

A flash of fire, and the rocket launcher fired. A bright light appeared, followed by a whistling sound as it chased the helicopter. The pilot was terrified but not easily shaken. He released a jamming signal and pushed the engine to its maximum, causing the helicopter to ascend wildly.

The explosion almost grazed the landing gear, making everyone in the helicopter lurch and scream.

"Damn, damn, damn! We're alive, we're damn alive!"

Lao Er was both shocked and relieved, cursing and trembling. The others were also drenched in cold sweat, their eyes filled with horror.

"Boss, the zombie is gone."

Lao Er didn't care; he didn't want to think about the zombie anymore. He just wanted to get his team back as soon as possible. The night's events had been too intense, and he needed alcohol to numb himself. "Fox, return immediately."

"Boss, it's a base communication link," Charlie said with a bitter smile.
