The sudden sound made Raul and the others instantly change their expressions, and they immediately turned their gun barrels to aim at the figure on the operating table.
"Damn. This bastard woke the zombie from its hibernation reaction prematurely."
Kahn screamed, ignoring his injuries, and quickly turned to the control panel, pressing the button hard. The emergency procedure was immediately activated, and liquid nitrogen was sprayed onto the operating table, rapidly cooling it. The entire laboratory seemed to be covered in a layer of frost. Several mechanical arms immediately moved, using laser cutting to sever Li Mu's limbs.
Only then did everyone breathe a sigh of relief. After witnessing Li Mu's terrifying power, Raul and the others did not believe that a few alloy chains could contain him.
"Damn." Fox cursed and fired two more shots at Charlie.
"Damn! What are you doing!" Raul grabbed the gun from Fox's hand and roared.
"Boss, he wants to kill us!" Fox shouted in a panic.
"Enough. He's already dead." Raul was somewhat exhausted, "Let's end this matter here."
The other team members sighed, looking at Charlie lying in a pool of blood, suddenly feeling a sense of sorrow. Kahn, limping, snatched the pendant from Charlie's hand and then walked madly towards the operating table.
"Incredible. This zombie is different. What he said is actually true. This zombie really reacted to the pendant..."
Kahn's eyes flashed with fanaticism as he carefully examined Li Mu, who was now frozen and had his limbs cut off. "Raul, give me the body. I need to conduct more experiments."
"I told you, I won't hand over my comrade's body to you. Damn, are you going to feed my comrade's body to the zombie right in front of me!"
Raul roared in anger.
"You don't understand... This is science. If this zombie really shows a different reaction, do you know what it means? It means that all existing theories about zombies need to be overturned. They might not just have a simple stimulus response like trilobites, but more biological instincts. This means we can tame them!"
Kahn said excitedly.
Before Raul could speak, Fox and the others exchanged glances, silently carrying Charlie's body to the operating table. Kahn reached out and grabbed a handful of fresh blood from Charlie's wound, his hands covered in the warm, sticky blood.
Kahn, with his hands full of blood, didn't seem to care at all. He excitedly placed his blood-covered hand in front of Li Mu's nose, and immediately the frozen Li Mu showed some reaction.
Kahn's expression was very focused. He used his blood-stained fingers to gently smear Li Mu's lips, and saw the frozen lips begin to move. Even at minus sixty degrees Celsius, where all biological reactions were suppressed, Li Mu still showed a desire for blood.
Kahn was somewhat disappointed. He thought for a moment, then forcefully pressed Charlie's neck to Li Mu's mouth. He saw the frozen Li Mu uncontrollably open his mouth, and the sharp fangs pierced directly into Charlie's neck, the still warm blood instantly falling into Li Mu's mouth.
Stimulated by the blood, the completely frozen body began to tremble, and new flesh buds began to grow on the severed limbs.
"Damn, what are you doing!"
Raul could hardly bear it. "Kahn, what are you doing!"
"Shh!"
Kahn slowly stepped back a few steps, spreading his palms and caressing the pendant. "Let's see if this zombie's different reaction to the pendant can suppress its instinctive desire for human blood."
A deep blue projection appeared again. In the brightly lit laboratory, the projection was not clear, but the ethereal melody echoed softly.
Kahn watched Li Mu intently. When the music started, the zombie, which was swallowing blood, clearly paused.
"It's struggling, it's reacting. Incredible! Damn! This isn't scientific!" Kahn was both surprised and manic, especially when he saw the zombie's sharp fangs slowly pull out of Charlie's neck, and the frozen, tightly bound neck slowly turn.
Seeing the zombie, which should have been completely frozen and lost all vitality, turn its head, Kahn screamed. He was too excited; this zombie really showed an incredible side.
"This isn't scientific! This is too unscientific!"
Kahn's eyes turned red, and he grabbed Raul's shoulder. "Did you see that? He's already dead, with only the most basic stimulus response, and now he's in a minus sixty-degree freeze, but he can still react the moment the music starts."
"Look, he opened his eyes, he's looking at me, no, he's looking at the pendant in my hand." Kahn took a deep breath, turned off the projection, and slowly shook the pendant. He could clearly see Li Mu's gray eyes following the movement of the pendant.
"Damn. What are you doing!" Raul grabbed Kahn's hand. He was somewhat afraid. The more unusual the zombie's behavior, the more fear he felt. The gray, emotionless eyes were truly terrifying.
Kahn took a deep breath. "I need more research. This zombie is too unusual. It actually reacts to a simple pendant more than to blood. Is there something unusual about this pendant? Perhaps I should take it apart and see."
"Are you an idiot?"
Someone couldn't help but curse. "It's not that the pendant is unusual, it's the music, the person in the projection, who means a lot to him. Even as a zombie, he might not have forgotten."
"Maybe you're right, but I need more research." Kahn nodded uncertainly. "First, I need to take apart this pendant and check, then rule out your theory, which is too metaphysical."
"Don't touch the pendant." Raul stopped Kahn. Kahn was stunned, turned around, and saw the zombie, which should have been completely frozen and lost all sensation, staring straight at him with cold, gray eyes, making him feel cold.
"Aren't you afraid of it?" Kahn sneered. "Don't worry, he's already frozen stiff, and his limbs have been cut off. Even if he could get up, he would fall to pieces on the ground."
"I hope so. This zombie is very unusual. Be careful when you research it..." Raul let go, feeling that he was indeed overreacting. Perhaps it was because the zombie's gaze was too calm.
Having seen many crazy zombies with blood-red, manic eyes, suddenly seeing such a calm, cold gaze was indeed chilling.
"I understand. Take the body away and dispose of it. I don't need it anymore." Kahn nodded, ignoring his injuries, and prepared to take apart the pendant.
Li Mu stood quietly on the operating table. His gray eyes turned silver, pure silver, without any impurities, extremely cold.
"Huh? His eyes..." Someone noticed the change in Li Mu's pupils and was surprised, but then stopped speaking.
Bang!
A gunshot rang out, and Kahn screamed, hit by a bullet.
"Damn! Fox, what are you doing!"
Raul was shocked, unable to believe that Fox would suddenly shoot Kahn.
There was no response. Fox's eyes were blank, and his movements were stiff. The gunshots continued, and he fired several more shots at Kahn. This shocking turn of events left everyone stunned.
Bang!
Raul shot Fox dead, his heart full of shock. He turned around and saw Kahn, who had been shot several times, lying in a pool of blood.
"Damn! Damn! Damn!"
Raul was almost driven mad. "You bastards, what are you doing, just standing there? Don't you know to help? If Kahn dies, we're all finished!"
There was no response. When Raul turned around, he saw his tactical team members, all in terror, turning their gun barrels and slowly putting them in their mouths.
"NO!"
Raul screamed in pain, trying in vain to reach out to stop them, but the only response was the sound of gunshots, and blood splattered.
"Mental... control. That zombie... it, evolved into a king. Run!"
Kahn grabbed Raul, coughing up blood, his voice weak.
Raul was shocked and quickly aimed his gun at Li Mu on the operating table, firing wildly. The silver light in Li Mu's pupils intensified, and the bullets aimed at him floated in the air, time seemed to freeze, and they clanged to the ground.
Raul was completely terrified and dared not face Li Mu, even though he was a zombie trapped on the operating table, frozen stiff, and with his limbs cut off. He fled from the laboratory without hesitation.
Kahn coughed up blood, his eyes filled with despair, and slowly reached out. He knew that once the zombie evolved into a king, no one could save him.
It turned out that mental control could indeed control humans, but Kahn couldn't pass this message on. With trembling hands, he pressed the self-destruct button of the laboratory, knowing it was the only thing he could do.
Bury everything here, absolutely don't let the zombie escape.
"The self-destruct program has been activated. Please evacuate within ten minutes. Warning, the self-destruct program has been activated. Please evacuate within ten minutes..."
The sudden alarm sounded cold and mechanical, and all the screens in the laboratory turned to a blood-red countdown.
In the cold countdown, Li Mu's silver eyes flickered. The body of Charlie, lying next to him, suddenly twitched, his eyes gray and blank, and he slowly stood up. With a click, he opened the alloy chains on Li Mu's body, and reattached Li Mu's severed limbs, which immediately began to grow new flesh and reconnect.
When the countdown reached the last five minutes, Li Mu slowly stood up on the operating table, his eyes cold and silver, like a demon awakening from the blood.
