"An Alpha, and another zombie that definitely surpasses M2. Damn it, there are images, right! Do you think that five-meter-tall zombie can be compared to the M2 that those North American idiots captured?"
Raul roared in anger, his mood extremely foul. Although they had been stranded in Melbourne for a month, under Kahn's command, they had been busy with various tasks but had never lost contact with the base. To support Kahn's research, the base would regularly send the latest data, which would be backed up.
They had access to the latest data from China, Russia, and North America. So when Raul saw the Alpha, he immediately knew that his team couldn't just leave.
After all, what the global bases lacked most was information about Alphas. These zombie kings, capable of mental manipulation over other zombies, were extremely rare. To date, only the Northeast China base had discovered one.
But even the limited data shared had made the global bases take these zombies very seriously, because they were Alphas, the kings of zombies. M-type zombies weren't scary, and even X-type zombies weren't scary, as even the strongest beasts were still just beasts.
Only the Alphas, which clearly showed intelligence and could control other zombies, were truly terrifying. Who knew if, in their mad evolution, these Alphas might develop human-like intelligence?
So when Raul saw the Alpha, he knew his team had to follow it. What made Raul furious was that the base, upon learning this news, ordered them to capture the Alpha at all costs.
To hell with that, didn't they see that five-meter-tall zombie!
Raul angrily turned off the communicator, took a deep breath, and said, "Ignore those idiots. We'll follow it and take more photos. Keep your distance; that five-meter-tall zombie is terrifying."
Before Raul could finish, Charlie interrupted, "Boss, Dr. Kahn is calling."
Raul took a deep breath, wanting to ignore it but then nodded, "Connect."
"Raul, I saw the photos you sent. Perfect. There's an Alpha, right? Capture it; my research needs it!"
Dr. Kahn's image appeared before Raul, his hair disheveled, eyes red, and tone feverish.
"I need a battalion!" Raul said with a cold laugh.
Dr. Kahn was taken aback, then became agitated, "Damn it. Let those damn politicians send a battalion. I need it! An Alpha, I must get it!"
Raul was at a loss, knowing there was no point arguing with a research fanatic like Dr. Kahn. Just as he was about to hang up, Dr. Kahn, with red eyes, said, "Don't hang up, keep the signal open. I'll send reinforcements immediately. You must capture that Alpha! You must!"
Raul was puzzled but didn't care, directing his team to cautiously pilot the helicopter in the air.
"They're hunting." The observer suddenly gasped, seeing Raul's surprise, quickly handed him the binoculars.
Raul took the binoculars and was immediately stunned.
On the street, the five-meter-tall giant zombie moved step by step, its fire axe swinging, destroying cars, barriers, and lampposts along the way, like a human tank, leaving nothing in its path.
The emaciated Alpha sat on the giant zombie's shoulder, its grayish-white eyes coldly watching Li Mu, occasionally emitting a sharp laugh.
One zombie after another surrounded Li Mu, attacking him. Li Mu's grayish-white eyes flashed with unease, turning blood-red, his broken bone knife flying, blasting several zombies. Just as he moved, the giant zombie's fire axe swung towards him.
With a terrifying sonic boom, it grazed Li Mu's shoulder, instantly destroying half of it, and crashed into the wall with a roar.
Faced with the threat of the giant zombie, the blood in Li Mu's eyes grew darker, his madness more intense. His broken right hand suddenly thrust forward, and the舔食者 (feeder) he had killed was instantly lifted in front of him. He bared his fangs and bit into it, swallowing it whole, facing the threat of the giant zombie and the Alpha.
Li Mu devoured the feeder's corpse without hesitation, his stomach rapidly digesting the flesh and blood, making the Dead Virus more active, and his shattered chest began to heal visibly.
A flash of pain crossed Li Mu's grayish-white eyes, and his tailbone suddenly deformed. A bone spike drilled through his skin with a hum, a pale, bloody bone spike suddenly dancing behind him, like a scorpion's tail, whistling through the air and piercing a zombie's head.
Instantly, the zombie withered, its flesh being absorbed by the bone spike that had suddenly grown from Li Mu. Li Mu's chest healed completely, and his right bone knife regrew visibly.
Li Mu's tail spike whistled through the air, piercing another zombie's brain, causing it to wither instantly, its flesh being devoured.
At this moment, Li Mu became extremely terrifying. His right bone knife was razor-sharp, his body covered in dark green skin, his muscles bulging like dragons. More terrifying was the bone spike that had suddenly grown on his back, waving like a snake, flexible and sharp, and in the blink of an eye, several zombies were pierced by it, withering to just skin.
This sudden change made the Alpha scream, and another zombie, moving like the wind, instantly darted out from the dense crowd of zombies. The Alpha's emaciated body leaped onto the zombie, immediately being protected by a group of zombies.
The five-meter-tall giant zombie roared and ran quickly, grabbing a Hummer and hurling it at Li Mu.
Li Mu's feet touched the ground, and his body moved like lightning, easily dodging the Hummer. The deafening crash echoed, and with a bloodthirsty look in his grayish-white eyes, he leaped several dozen meters, charging towards the giant zombie.
With a slash of his right bone knife, the five-meter-tall giant zombie simply reached out, ignoring Li Mu's bone knife. The originally sharp bone knife, which could cut a BMW in half, got stuck in the giant zombie's arm, making a metallic sound.
Li Mu's face was expressionless, and his bone spike whistled towards the giant zombie's eyes. The giant zombie slapped it, fearlessly grabbing the bone spike. With a clang, Li Mu's bone spike couldn't penetrate the giant zombie's skin.
Missing, Li Mu's feet touched the ground, and his right bone knife rose, leaping into the air. He stepped on the giant zombie's head, his grayish-white eyes flashing with blood, and he soared over the giant zombie, charging towards the Alpha.
Even hidden in the dense crowd of zombies, Li Mu instantly spotted the Alpha. His right bone knife brought a cold wind, slicing off the heads of seven zombies, and continued towards the Alpha.
The Alpha's grotesque face showed a mocking smile, cunning and terrifying. Facing Li Mu's attack, it suddenly opened its mouth and let out an extremely sharp scream.
A sharp sound suddenly rang out, and all the glass within five hundred meters shattered. A tangible sound wave burst from the Alpha's mouth, so terrifying that even the helicopter hovering above the building swayed, and everyone on board clutched their ears in pain, blood streaming from their ears.
Li Mu, facing this scream, froze, blood streaming from his seven orifices. His grayish-white eyes showed intense struggle, and his right bone knife hung in the air, just a short distance from the Alpha's neck, but he couldn't bring it down.
Another scream, and the Alpha slowly stood up from the zombie's shoulder, its eyes showing disdain. Its emaciated body stepped onto Li Mu's shoulder, standing like a king, its voice fluctuating.
Li Mu's body trembled violently, as if in intense struggle, blood streaming from his eyes. The Alpha became angry, its voice becoming long and sharp.
"Damn it!"
Raul's hands were covered in blood, his head still dizzy. The helicopter forced itself to fly to three thousand feet, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
"Close, just a little closer and we would have died. Fox, well done." Raul wiped the blood from the pilot's face, worried, "Can you hold on?"
"Still okay. Damn, almost got taken out by a zombie!" The pilot was still shaken; if they had been any closer, they would have been dead for sure.
Everyone was still shaken, including Raul.
"Raul, what are you doing? I can't see the footage." Dr. Kahn's voice was extremely harsh, and Raul instantly flew into a rage.
"Damn it, you almost got us killed! Do you know that!"
Raul roared, "That's not a zombie, damn it. It can fight, devour its own kind to recover and evolve! That tail, that bone knife, damn it, it grew right in front of us. And that Alpha, it definitely has intelligence, feigning weakness, striking unexpectedly. Damn it, even when I just graduated, I couldn't use it as well as it did!"
The more Raul thought about it, the angrier and more terrified he became. Both Li Mu and the Alpha's abilities left Raul in shock. He couldn't believe that in just a month, the world had changed so much.
