That evening, a grand birthday party was held at Beijing’s largest seven stars hotel.

A lot of influential individuals received the invitation two days ago. They all dressed up to attend the party.

The Xia and Mo Family had been good acquaintances and there were rumours about the young miss of the Xia Family having a special relationship with Mo Beichen. There were even some who learnt that the both of them were actually in a relationship, thus everyone wanted to fawn on the Xia Family even more.

That evening, the parking lot of the hotel was almost full and there were even countless luxury cars parked along the road leading toward the hotel.

“Hubby, is this dress overly grand for the event?” At the boutique, Xia Weilan stared at the off-shoulder gown with complex design but looked elegant on her. She suddenly felt that it felt really heavy on her.

“You looked amazing.” Mo Beichen couldn’t hide his compliment.

Xia Weilan took another glance at the mirror when she heard his words. The slim fit gown complemented her slender figure. The hem of the skirt concealed her ankles while the splitting design partially exposed the high heels underneath it. Her chest was decorated with delicate baby breath, making it seem as if she just walked out from spring.

Xia Weilan stared at herself in the mirror and curled her lips. It was as though the entire room became dull and Xia Weilan was the only thing that was eye catching.

“You are a natural beauty. All it takes is a little makeup and you’re already shining.” Mo Beichen stared at Xia Weilan’s reflection in the mirror.

After hearing his words, Xia Weilan appeared more confident. All the awkwardness that she felt earlier on was casted to one side.

By the time she turned around to glance at Mo Beichen, he was mesmerized.

Xia Weilan curled her lips to form a smile. She walked over and hugged Mo Beichen’s arm.

“Let’s go.”

There’s a saying that a beautiful dress can make a woman appear more beautiful, but what’s more important was the self confidence that radiated from the woman that made her even more attractive.

In the car, Mo Beichen stared at Xia Weilan from time to time through the rear-view mirror. The moment they reached the hotel, they realized that the parking lot was already full.

Mo Beichen frowned and drove Xia Weilan to the main entrance, “You can get off first. I’ll come over shortly.”

“Okay, hubby~” Xia Weilan obediently got out of the car. A gust of wind blew across, lifting the hem of the skirt that was featherly light.

The few people started discussing it. Xia Weilan held a calm expression and made her way toward the hotel’s entrance without shifting her glance.

A lot of rich young ladies had already arrived at the banquet. They all put on a business-like smile.

Xia Roulin was surrounded by a few of her close friends like the moon surrounded by the stars. Her elegant laughter attracted the surrounding noble gentleman.

“Roulin, you are really beautiful today. Those who didn’t know might think that you are the birthday girl today. Look at all those who are stealing glances at you,” said one of Xia Roulin’s close friends.

“That’s right. Your outfit must have cost a few hundred thousands.”

Xia Roulin maintained an elegant smile the whole time. Although she replied in a humble manner, deep down, she was already filled with pride.

Xia Roulin was convinced that she is still the young miss that everyone chased after.

As for Xia Weilan, even if it’s her birthday today, so what? By the time she showed up, she’s nothing compared to her.

At this moment, a girl in a white dress slowly walked through the lobby entrance. Her straight and long hair was hooked behind her ears, her eyes and brows were elegant and she had a faint smile on her lips. Her dress moved as she moved and she looked as if she walked right out of a beautiful portrait.

“Miss Xia is here!”

Someone exclaimed in surprise. The bustling banquet hall suddenly turned quiet. Countless eyes stared straight at the girl who was walking toward them and they even forgot to breathe.

Xia Roulin stared at Xia Weilan in silence. However, she did not appear calm. She clenched onto the wine glass tightly and dug her nails.

“Weilan!” A gentle voice suddenly called out to her and Rui Li, who was in a simple evening dress came beside Xia Weilan through the crowds. At the same time, Nan Fengyan also came over with a sinister smile on his face.

“Hey, sis-in-law is here.” Nan Fengyan smiled mischievously as he stood next to Xia Weilan and complemented, “This must be the doing of Mo-ge. Where’s Mo-ge?”

Hearing Nan Fengyan addressed Xia Weilan as sis-in-law had shattered the hearts of a lot of those who had their eyes on her. Comes to think of it, the one who Nan Fengyan addressed as Mo-ge would be none other than Mo Beichen.

Just when Xia Weilan wanted to say something, she spotted Xia Roulin slowly walking toward her. She couldn’t help but frown.

Xia Roulin’s movement was arrogant, like a fighting cock that stood tall in front of Xia Weilan.

“Sis, did you come here on your own?”

Suddenly, Xia Roulin laughed and lowered her voice, “Did Beichen-ge get bored of you and refused to accompany you? Just wait and see, your happy time will be over soon.”

But Xia Roulin was unaware that Rui Li was able to read her lips. Before Xia Weilan could react, Rui Li already stood in front of Xia Weilan, staring at Xia Roulin with a stern face, “You better stay away from Wei Lan.”

Although Nan Fengyan was not entirely sure of what’s going on, he stood next to Rui Li and gave a cold glance to Xia Roulin.

Initially, Xia Roulin wanted to humiliate Xia Weilan. But suddenly, she became the bad apple and was outcast in such an obvious manner.

Although the few people standing beside them didn’t know the whole story, they were able to tell the fact that Xia Roulin was not welcome. They all felt awkward for her.

“Why does it seem like Xia Roulin is not welcome? Are they having a bad relationship?”

“How should we know? But look at Xia Weilan, she looked so innocent and kind. And look at her friend’s behaviour. Isn’t it obvious that Xia Roulin did something bad to them?”

Xia Roulin’s face turned green.

If she walked away now, it would mean that she’s defeated.

But if she didn’t, she had a feeling that she was the one seeking to be ridiculed.

“Do you have any other business? If not, I have something to discuss with Rui Li.” Xia Weilan stared at Xia Roulin emotionlessly, implying that she had no time to entertain her.

“Nope!” Xia Roulin had no choice but to step aside.

After that, Rui Li and Nan Fengyan escorted Xia Weilan to one side with their backs facing Xia Roulin.

“Where’s Mo-ge?” Nan Fengyan asked again.

“He’s parking the car.” Xia Weilan picked up a glass of red wine and shook the glass gently.
