“Ouch!” Xia Weilan immediately recoiled her hand and screamed.

“Sis, how careless of you.” Xia Roulin kept her eyes on the study’s door and quickly knelt down to pick up the broken pieces of the bowl from the floor as soon as she saw the door opened. By the time she lifted her head, her eyes were red and her finger was bleeding from the cuts caused by the sharp broken pieces.

“Ouch!” When Mo Beichen was approaching, Xia Roulin suddenly stood up while moaning in pain. She almost ran into Mo Beichen’s arm while she stared at him with a pitiful expression.

However, Mo Beichen walked past her and dashed to Xia Weilan. He grabbed her hand and placed it underneath the running tap, flushing the scaled area with cold water. His dark eyes were beaming with anger.

“Just now, sis accidentally dropped a bowl of soup. I got hurt from trying to pick up the broken pieces.” Xia Roulin said with tears rolling in her eyes.

Mo Beichen gave Xia Roulin a cold stare and quickly led Xia Weilan toward the door, “Let’s get you to the hospital.”

Xia Roulin who stood still at the same spot stared blankly at the door, feeling unreconciled.

“Can someone please bring the first aid kit over for Roulin.” Old Master Xia let out a sigh. But when he recalled how Roulin and Weilan were getting along with each other rather peacefully, he felt a little more at ease.

He instantly felt closer to Roulin and quickly ordered the servant to help her dress her wounds.

In the car, Mo Beichen kept staring at the bright red patch on Xia Weilan’s hand while driving.

In the passenger seat, Xia Weilan was showing a painful expression. Her sleeve was already rolled up, exposing her skin which was usually fair as snow. At this very moment, it was slightly swollen.

Xia Weilan kept quiet because she understood that she had no one to blame but herself for what happened today. After all, Xia Roulin never touched her and it was really her who spilled the bowl of soup.

When they reached the hospital, Mo Beichen went in together with her.

Mo Beichen was still looking furious even after the doctor treated Xia Weilan’s wounds.

Seeing that the doctor was taking it non-stop, Xia Weilan quickly interrupted the doctor, “Excuse me doctor, is there anything that I need to watch out for these few days?”

Mo Beichen is still very upset on the way home.

“Mr Xu, please come in with me.” Xia Weilan immediately replied to his greeting.

This morning, during the meeting. Old Master Xia immediately appointed Xu Liancai as the project’s executor, reporting solely to Xia Weilan.

In the meeting, Xia Roulin and Xue Zhiqing put on a fake smile. They dare not give her a hard time.

“Miss Xia, I’ve already found out the whereabouts of the actor, Han Yishi, that the company wished to engage with. Do you want me to set up an appointment with him to discuss the collaboration?” After the meeting, Mr Xu immediately consulted Xia Weilan. One could really see that this person is really efficient.

“You can pass me the address. I’ll meet him personally. I’ll leave it to you to take care of work at the office.” Xia Weilan said.

Xia Weilan then headed to the basement and drove out from Xia Corps.

While she’s driving, she received a call from Rui Li, “Weilan, I’m truly sorry. I’m unavailable for this period of time because of attending to some tricky matters at home. Why don’t you let Mo-ge send someone else to protect you?”

“Just focus on settling your problems. I won’t be encountering anything dangerous, so there’s no need for a bodyguard.” Xia Weilan said as she kept her eyes on the road.

“Alright, in that case, I’ll get back to business.” Before Rui Li hung up, she suddenly asked, “Are you still in contact with Nan Fengyan?”

“Nan Fengyan? No. Why?” Xia Weilan asked curiously.

“Nothing. I’ll get back to work. My dad was hospitalized and I had to take care of the company on such short notice. I’ll come to visit you when I’m free.”

Rui Li hung up the phone after that.

Xia Weilan let out a sigh. She knew that Rui Li was extremely busy for the past few days. But she had not expected for her to be this busy.

Xia Weilan was wondering if she should ask Mo Beichen to give Rui Li a hand. But after a second thought, judging on Rui Li and Mo Beichen’s good relationship, there won’t be a need for her to ask Mo Beichen.

With that, she quickly put aside Rui Li’s matter and headed to the hotel where Han Yishi is staying.

But when she reached the hotel, she was informed by the front desk that Han Yishi had just checked out.

Xia Weilan called Han Yishi’s manager and knew that he was having lunch at a restaurant nearby the hotel.
