“We’ve worked so hard for this little profit just to let you rip away half of them. Do you have no mercy?”

Xia Weilan couldn’t help but frown. She couldn’t believe that there’s some who are so unreasonable as to come up with such an excuse for not paying the rent.

The manager appeared to be in an awkward position. As soon as he saw Mo Beichen who was walking toward him, his eyes immediately brightened. He quickly ran over to greet him, “What brings you here, President Mo?”

“I heard that someone is trying to cause some trouble, so I came to check.” Mo Beichen walked up to the store manager feeling annoyed.

When the store manager saw Mo Beichen, his attitude changed drastically. He smiled while saying, “President Mo, you shouldn’t take the trouble to attend to such a trivial matter personally. You should have let your subordinates deal with this.”

“Trivial matter?” Mo Beichen took a glance at the crowds surrounding them. If he didn’t show up, perhaps everyone would be reading about some negative news about the Mo Corp mall tomorrow.

“President Mo, it’s just a small misunderstanding. I’ll sign the contract now.” The store manager was no match for Mo Beichen. He was just trying to seize the opportunity to gain some benefit earlier on.

“Listen, I don’t wish to see this store running their business in Mo Corp’s mall starting tomorrow. Mo Corp does not wish to work with a company with no quality!” Mo Beichen ordered.

“…President Mo…we just violated the contract by a few days only, President Mo…” The store manager’s face went dull and he felt as if his world had collapsed. Collaborating with Mo Corp is a business that guarantees profits. If he screwed this up, surely the headquarter will make him accountable for this.

But before the manager could say anything, securities already stepped forward to escort him out from the mall.

Mo Beichen left with Xia Weilan.

Xia Weilan never expected that Mo Beichen would react like this when he was upset. She didn’t dare to bring up the topic of reserving a slot in the mall as she worried it might irritate him.

“What do you think about this place?” Mo Beichen took a stroll around the nearby area with Xia Weilan. There were a lot of other jewelry stores that carried well-known brands nearby.

Xia Weilan promptly replied, “There’s a lot of traffic here. The design concept is great and furthermore, the service here is very good too.”

Xia Weilan thought that Mo Beichen was asking her about her opinion on his mall.

“I’m glad that you are happy with it. You may sign the contract at my office tomorrow.” Mo Beichen’s lips curled to form a smile as he suddenly halted his footstep and stared at her.

“What?” Xia Weilan gasped and opened her eyes wide in disbelief.

“I’m implying that we can now collaborate with each other.” He gracefully extended a hand to her.

Xia Weilan felt as if she’s in a dream. In just an hour, she was thrown into hell and went back up to heaven again. It was as exciting as riding on a roller coaster.

“That’s awesome!” She gave a firm handshake to Mo Beichen. She was in high spirits and her cheeks were blushing.

“As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t give anyone special treatment. You’re just lucky today. Although you are my wife, when it comes to business, I will not be lenient when it comes to collecting what needs to be paid.”

“Certainly!” Xia Weilan said without hesitation. She didn’t want to take advantage of him either.

Although she’s married to him, the Xia Family and the Mo Family are still separate entities.

Early morning on the next day, Xia Weilan went to Mo Corps with a few other staff.

“Hi Miss Xia, President Mo is already waiting in the meeting room.”

The reception quickly greeted Xia Weilan politely when she saw her.

Mo Beichen is already sitting inside the meeting room reading the contract carefully. He lifted his head to look at the few people in front of him.

“Basically, I have no objection to the contract,” said Mo Beichen. “However, there is one section that I do not fully agree to.”

Xia Weilan didn’t expect that this is coming. When she recalled how strict Beichen was when it came to business matters, she stared at him nervously.

The others were also looking at Mo Beichen cautiously, waiting for him to put forward his suggestion.

“Here…” Mo Beichen extended his hand to point at the fund’s section and said emotionlessly, “I think we can use this section to offset the rental charge. All expenditures could be deducted from the design fees.”

“Fees? I’ve never heard anything about design fees.” The manager beside Xia Weilan asked in surprise.

“This is the design fee of the ‘Ocean Romance’ jewellery series that Mo and Xia Family collaborated in previously. Miss Xia is eligible for fifty percent. This can definitely offset all rental charges.”

Xia Weilan’s eyes widened. At this instant, she finally understood that Mo Beichen is planning to let her rent the venue for free. She couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed.

When they were once again back at Xia Corps, everyone was looking at Xia Weilan in astonishment.

The entire office had already learnt about the news that Mo Beichen waived the rental charges for Miss Xia.

As soon as Xia Weilan entered the lobby, the Old Master summoned her into his office.

“Grandpa!”

“My child! I’m so happy to hear that things are going well between you and Beichen. But grandpa still needs to invite him over to the old mansion to thank him properly.” Deep down, Old Master Xia knew that Mo Beichen deliberately came up with the so-called design fees.

“Sure, I’ll let him know now.”

That evening, Old Master Xia kept complimenting Mo Beichen over dinner. He also urged, “Beichen, do guide Weilan if she needed help with managing a business.”

“I will.” Mo Beichen didn’t speak much throughout dinner.

After dinner, Old Master Xia called Mo Beichen into his study.

“Beichen, the company will be passed on to Weilan in the near future. You’re husband and wife. Passing it to her is the same as passing it to you. I’m at ease knowing that you are around to guide her.” Old Master Xia finally spoke out his mind.

Mo Beichen felt touched and honored to be able to gain Old Master Xia’s trust.

“There’s something that I need you to help me with,” said Old Master Xia.

Mo Beichen stared at him calmly with an earnest look on his face, waiting for Old Master Xia to continue his words.

“Some of the staff in the office are already sided with Xue Zhiqing. I hope that you can transfer someone that you trusted from your end to assist Weilan,” said Old Master Xia. He was not feeling reassured with the people within the organization. However, it’s difficult for him to appoint his own men to assist Weilan as this may offend Xue Zhiqing.

“Noted, grandpa.” Mo Beichen sincerely addressed Old Master Xia as grandpa.

Meanwhile, Xia Weilan was boiling soup in the kitchen. The moment she carried a bowl of soup from the kitchen, she heard a deafening yell ringing beside her ear, “Sis!”

Xia Weilan’s hands tremble in reflex. The bowl of soup that she had been carefully holding, slipped from her hand.

‘Clash!’ The bowl hit the ground and scattered everywhere. Some of the hot soup splattered and scalded her wrist.
