Xia Weilan and Rui Li entered the sophomore classroom together. They realized that there were a lot of new faces that they had never seen before. When everyone saw them coming in, they just took a quick glance at them and quickly withdrew their gazes to continue chatting.

Xia Weilan and Rui Li sat down in the empty seats, they overheard the people around them talking about applying for the student union.

Before Xia Weilan could get more information, everyone became quiet and they were all staring at the podium.

A well-dressed woman with a cold face was already standing on the podium. She wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses. The gaze under the glasses was meticulous, without the slightest hint of emotion, “Hello everyone, I am your class teacher.”

The class teacher announced the study plan and selected a class monitor very quickly.

A little girl sitting in front of Xia Weilan stood up and made a polite gesture to everyone, “Hello everyone, I’m very glad to be appointed as the class monitor. At the same time, I’m also the head of the learning department of the student union. Please give me your support. Thank you.”

The female class monitor smiled sweetly and sat down again.

Xia Weilan was the top student in the design faculty, but no one voted for her to be the class monitor. Xia Weilan was a little surprised. But when she learned that the girl was the head of the student union, Xia Weilan understood that she’s qualified to be the class monitor after all.

After class ended, before Xia Weilan got up from her seat, she saw the class monitor seated in front of her turned around, and said, “Are you Xia Weilan? I’ve heard of you. You have good grades, would you like to join the student union? “

She took out an application form from her bag, “If you join us, you’ll have the chance to get scholarships and outstanding students awards. In short, there are many benefits. What do you think?”

Xia Weilan thought about it. If she joined the student union, she would be a lot busier. But despite that, she would have more opportunities for exposure. Therefore, Xia Weilan took the form, filled it out immediately, and handed it to the class monitor.

The class monitor reviewed Xia Weilan’s form, and the look of appreciation flashed across her eyes. She didn’t expect Xia Weilan to have such an outstanding CV. She had a lot of experience in part-time jobs and internships.

“This is great. Having you in the learning department will definitely bring a lot of help.”

That’s right, Xia Weilan chose the learning department. After all, the head of the learning department personally invited her. It wouldn’t make sense for her to choose a different department.

The class monitor put away the forms and blinked, “By the way, we will be having a small gathering later at noon. Why don’t you join us? We’ll be having a meal together and getting to know each other.”

Xia Weilan and Rui Li looked at each other. Seeing that the class monitor is very enthusiastic about it, they couldn’t bring themselves to turn down her invitation.

The class monitor immediately took the forms and walked out delightfully. She’s probably taking them to the board of the student union for approval.

That afternoon, the class monitor took Xia Weilan and Rui Li to a nearby restaurant. By the time they arrived, they noticed that there were already a lot of people in the hall. Everyone gathered around the table and they were chatting happily.

A few boys noticed that the class monitor brought two beautiful girls for this gathering. Their eyes instantly lit up and they were talking in high spirits without even realizing it.

“Hey, there are three beautiful ladies here!”

“Hi pretty! Come, sit here.”

The class monitor laughed and felt that she had scouted the right people this time. She led Xia Weilan and Rui Li to the empty seats and introduced them to the team, “This is Miss Xia and Miss Rui, they are not yet officially in the student union yet, but Miss Xia has already submitted her application, and I believe she can join the union soon.”

“Freshman?” the boys asked enthusiastically.

“We’re in the same class.” The class monitor explained.

""

Xia Weilan and Rui Li remain calm and composed even when everyone is staring and sizing them up. They were not overwhelmed by everyone’s enthusiasm at all. Instead, they sat calmly and nodded towards everyone.

At this moment, everyone was amused. They realized that the two new beauties had extraordinary temperaments. If they were to participate in the school’s beauty pageant, they would definitely be in the top three.

The girls who used to be the center of attraction stared coldly at Xia Weilan and Rui Li because they had robbed their spotlights. Their expressions were not friendly at all.

“Look at you, have you forgotten your dignity at all? You’re desperately huddling in front of those new girls, do you have no shame? You’re throwing away the reputation of the student union!” One of the good-looking girls said in displeasure.

“Haha.” The girl’s boyfriend immediately retracted his gaze and leaned closer to his girlfriend.

Xia Weilan found it strange and smiled faintly, “Being pretty is also an asset. Everyone likes pretty things. However, beauty can only temporarily mystify a person. In the end, it’s the inner temperament that retains people’s hearts.”

Hearing Xia Weilan’s words, the girl’s expression softened. She knew that she’s not bad-looking and she definitely had a good inner temperament. And so, the look in her eyes became a lot more tender.

Xia Weilan is right, it is not her fault to be born pretty.

Fan Ming, who was sitting at the other table, turned around abruptly when he heard this. He noticed a tall woman with her back facing him. Her eyes glowed because by judging from her remarks, he was certain that this girl is not the same as other girls. She’s not the type who acts cute but rather, she’s the one who is frank and open. She seems special.

The class monitor said to Xia Weilan, “The boy will be paying the bills on AA and the girls eat for free.”

The class monitor wasn’t aware of Xia Weilan’s background. Seeing Xia Weilan and Rui Li’s low-profile appearance, she assumed that they are not from a wealthy family, so she reminded them of good intentions.

Fan Ming suddenly walked from another table and sat down on the empty seat on this table. He said generously to the class monitor, “I’ll pay for this gathering!”

“Wow!” The other boys immediately cried out in surprise. “Fan Ming, why are you so generous today? This is unlike your usual low profile temperament.”

“This is rare! Fan Ming, has something good happened? If yes, let’s share it with us.”

This was the first time Fan Ming saw Xia Weilan’s face. She’s fair and polite. He could tell that she’s a reasonable person with a good temperament.

Fan Ming couldn’t help but wanted to get close to her. He calmly said to the boys, “I’m running for president of the student union. I hope that you guys will be supporting me.”

Everyone immediately reacted with a smile, “Okay, we’ll definitely vote for you.”

The class monitor leaned to Xia Weilan’s side and explained, “This is our senior. He used to be the vice president of the student union. Now he is running for president. He’s a very nice person to talk to.”

Xia Weilan lips curled to let out a smile. It’s not because of Fan Ming, but because of the class monitor who acted to be very close to her. She seems to regard Xia Weilan as her good friend. And because of this, Xia Weilan is in a good mood.

Rui Li also took a glance at the class monitor and she had a good impression of this girl. She’s a very lively and cheerful person.
