At the welcome banquet of the Student Union of University A, two beams of lights lit the stage. Fan Ming, dressed in a formal suit, looked a lot more handsome than usual as he stood on the stage.

Everyone looked at the podium and heard Fan Ming give the opening speech, “Today is the annual welcome party of the Student Union. I hope that the new members can feel their welcome through this party. After this, everyone will be a part of the Student Union. Let us start the event now.”

Fan Ming was easy to get along with. His speech was like words to a friend. Topping it with his reputation, the crowd immediately applauded after he finished his speech. Those newcomers were very excited seeing the handsome president of the student union.

When Fan Ming stepped off the stage, the crowds started to get around, talking to each other.

The old student union members get together in groups, talking to people they are familiar with while biting on snacks. They come here mainly to exchange contacts. The new members look around in curiosity, nodding and smiling to everyone who passes by. It was easy to recognize the difference.

Xia Weilan stood in the corner, checking the surroundings, especially the food, making sure that they were refilled promptly.

Sun Meimei hugged her shoulders as she stood in the crowd. She wasn’t acting like a member of the Corporate Service department at all. Instead, she was complaining to a friend next to her, “The food tasted horrible. They were incomparable to last year’s.”

When she saw a newcomer who was about to pick up a pastry, she quickly walked over and reminded with her chin tilted arrogantly, “Don’t eat such a cheap thing, it might upset your stomach.”

The newcomer blinked. He felt a little awkward as he was unsure if he should take the pastry or not. But he actually wondered if the food is really inedible, because they look pretty good.

Xia Weilan who was standing not far away noticed the situation and heard Sun Meimei’s deliberately finding faults. She had already ignored Sun Meimei’s little talks with her friend just now. But now that she’s starting to influence the others, Xia Weilan walked over.

“Hi, don’t worry, the food here are all freshly made.” Xia Weilan said to the newcomer. The guy let out a sigh of relief. He took a pastry and walked away immediately.

Sun Meimei glared at Xia Weilan unhappily.

Xia Weilan was unwilling to show any weakness and she greeted Sun Meimei, “Miss Sun, as a member of the Corporate Service department, you should know best that the budget is limited this time. So, please don’t pass any negative influence on other students.”

Sun Meimei laughed heartily and attracted the attention of other students, “If you don’t have enough budget, why didn’t you try levying some? Won’t you recruit? You are the eldest lady who is used to eating, drinking, and having fun, but you let us eat something like this, hehe, you are too Shrewd, as the eldest lady of the Xia family, holding such a banquet, tsk tsk, I feel ashamed for you.”

Xia Weilan’s face sank, and it was clear that Sun Meimei was already physically attacking.

“Sun Meimei, this is a matter of the student union, not my own business. Please don’t confuse the concept. You want to eat the delicacies of the mountains and the sea, please go and eat after the party.” Xia Weilan was really upset by this Sun Meimei’s action. It’s fortunate that she can still be reasoned with, so there’s no need for her to waste too much effort in pursuing her.

Fan Ming made his way through the crowd and walked over. Seeing that it was Sun Meimei who caused the trouble, he immediately warned, “Miss Sun, the principal will bring some important guests here later. Don’t cause any trouble.”

Sun Meimei looked at Fan Ming unwillingly. Why is everyone siding with Xia Weilan? What is so good about her? She just happens to have some Mo Beichen supporting her from behind and everyone started to curry favors with her. As for her, she’d given her all to the Corporate Service Department for one year. And her application for the head of department this time is clearly in her hands. But it was dismissed because of Xia Wilan who made use of her connections.

Just when everyone is watching the chaos here, someone suddenly said, “The principal is here.”

Sun Meimei was overjoyed and wanted to take the opportunity to make a complaint in front of the principal, that Xia Weilan wasn’t competent for the role. She immediately followed everyone’s gaze, extended her neck, and looked ahead excitedly.

The crowd slowly cleared a path. A middle-aged man approached. He is the principal of University A. However, the principal was walking slowly, walking alongside with him is a handsome man. Everyone’s attention was focused on that young man who appeared as noble as a king.

Mo Beichen walked slowly, as if he was patrolling his country. When he walked by, everyone kept quiet and nobody dared to make trouble. Some of them stood with their backs straight as they felt a great pressure, and at the same time, their hearts were racing. They never expected for someone to have such an aura, making people surrender without saying a word.

“What’s the matter?” The principal walked up to Fan Ming.

Fan Ming swept a glance at Mo Beichen. Just as he was about to speak, someone pushed him away from behind and made her way in front of him. Fan Ming furrowed his eyebrows as he heard Sun Mei Mei said impatiently, “Principal, the food for this banquet is very poor. They’re all bargained from the vegetable market. I dare say that the head of the Corporate Service Department has no idea how to carry out her job at all. That’s why this banquet is a failure.”

When Sun Meimei spoke, she shifted her gaze to Mo Beichen from time to time.

I can’t believe such a man exists. I wonder who is him?

Although Sun Meimei had been spreading the news that Xia Weilan was Mo Beichen’s lover, being in an unpopular faculty, she had no exposure to how Mo Beichen actually looked like.

Hearing this, the principal looked at Xia Weilan awkwardly. He had just brought Mo Beichen over as a guest and he never expected that someone would complain about his little girlfriend in front of him.

“Principal, it’s not like this at all. Miss Xia has done a very good job.” Fan Ming was disgusted by Sun Meimei’s actions.

Xia Weilan stood next to Fan Ming as she looked at Mo Beichen. She saw that he had been putting on a tight face. She couldn’t help but murmured, is he angry?

“Haha. Well, since there’s nothing wrong with the organization of the event, let’s continue with the event.” The principal looked around and immediately noticed that there’s really nothing wrong at all. The decoration was nicely done and there’s an extensive selection of food and beverages. Although the fruits were relatively inexpensive, there’s a wide range of selection. There really is nothing to pick about.

When Sun Meimei heard that the principal did not want to pursue any further, she gritted her teeth. She suddenly recalled that Fan Ming mentioned that the principal was bringing some important guests. Sun Meimei immediately placed her last hope on the noble man who had been quiet.

“Sir, I am sure that you are no ordinary person. An individual like yourself wouldn’t want to eat the food here right? Those foods might upset your stomach.”

Hearing this, Mo Beichen looked at Sun Meimei. A disgusted look flashed across his face.
