“I’m okay. Luckily Rui Li came in time…” Xia Weilan said calmly to Mo Beichen.

However, the grim expression from Mo Beichen still lingers. He already knew the brief story of what had happened and he definitely will not let that robber get away with this.

That afternoon, Xia Weilan’s bangs fluttered in the wind and her eyes were as bright as the stars that reflected her strong willpower.

Mo Beichen stared at Xia Weilan. Wouldn’t other people’s girlfriends usually cry in the arms of their man seeking comfort after experiencing such a trauma? Why is Xia Weilan so different?

This difference made Mo Beichen pity her even more. He took her hand and walked toward the other students, “I assume you all haven’t eaten yet, right? I’ll treat you all for lunch as a token of appreciation for taking care of Weilan.”

Le Xing is the happiest among them, “The CEO is treating us. It’s going to be a scrumptious meal!”

They got into the car separately. Mo Beichen got in the car with Xia Weilan, Rui Li and the class monitor. While Fan Ming got into Mo Beichen’s bodyguard car with Le Xing.

They make their way to the restaurant.

They arrived at one of the restaurants under Mo Corps.

The moment Mo Beichen stepped into the lobby with everyone, the manager immediately greeted them respectfully and led them into the first-class private room.

This is the first time that Le Xing went to such a high-end place. She felt as if she had stepped into a wonderland, especially when she’s dining in one of the most exquisite private rooms. She couldn’t help but bite her thumb in astonishment.

“My goodness. Weilan, your boyfriend is truly amazing. I envy you for being able to enjoy such delicious food every day.” She tugged on Xia Weilan’s sleeves like someone who is scared of getting lost.

“There’s no need to be envious. Hurry up and find one for yourself.” Xia Weilan teased.

Le Xing secretly tossed a glance at Fan Ming and let out a mischievous laugh without saying a word.

Fan Ming was calm and collected. He sat down beside Le Xing.

When they were deciding on what to order, Fan Ming asked Xia Weilan about what had happened.

“I was held hostage from the bathroom. Luckily, I haven’t hung up the phone so I took the opportunity to tell Rui Li my whereabouts. And because of that, Rui Li was able to get there in time when I was brought to that hidden room.” Xia Weilan explained briefly.

“This is like a movie. Let’s hear about how you subdue the robber!” Le Xing put down the menu after hearing this and asked curiously.

“It’s too violent. It’s better that you don’t know about it.” Xia Weilan recalled the man’s bleeding profoundly. She figured that even if he’s being rescued, there’s no way they could save his hand.

Speaking of which, Rui Li’s movement is accurate and ruthless. Every blow is a deadly blow.

Le Xing pouted and stared at Rui Li curiously. Rui Li simply said, “By the time I got to the scene, he was about to run the dagger across Weilan’s face. I had to stop him immediately.”

Le Xing gulped as she stared at Xia Weilan. She wondered how Xia Weilan could keep calm after such a terrifying event.

When Mo Beichen heard this, a menacing look suddenly flashed across his face.

He suddenly stood up and said, “You can order food first. I need to excuse myself for a while”

When he got out of the room, he made a phone call. Xu Wei, who was on the other end of the line immediately answered, “President Mo, the robber refused to reveal who is the mastermind. But after some suffering, he finally tells the truth. He said a student named Sun Meimei instructed him to do so. The deal is a fifty-fifty split of the money. And not only that, she wanted to disfigure young madam. Now the robber is already half dead.”

That’s right. Just when everyone thought that the robber is currently receiving treatment at the hospital, in fact, he had been taken away by another group of people and they were already done with the interrogation.

“Sun Meimei?” Mo Beichen frowned, “Send me her information.”

Soon, Mo Beichen received a file on his phone. Not only did it contain a photo, it also included Sun Meimei’s background and past history.

He recognized at once that this was the girl who humiliated Xia Weilan at the student union banquet. He didn’t expect that she still hasn’t given up and has done so many things discreetly.

Mo Beichen called Xu Wei again.

When he returned to the room again, food was already served but nobody was eating.

Mo Beichen was the first to start eating and the rest of them followed.

Xia Weilan felt a little helpless as she didn’t expect that although her friends acted normal, deep in their bones, they saw Mo Beichen as someone who holds power and prestige and they were respectful towards him.

After the meal, Xia Weilan went back to school with her classmates, while Mo Beichen was left alone.

That evening, Sun Meimei returned home and noticed the depressing atmosphere in the living room.

Mr Sun said with an unhappy face, “I never guessed that after so many years of competing with the restaurant across the street, they actually came up with issuing 100 free coupons while other customers can enjoy half-price discounts. Isn’t it obvious that they are targeting us?”

“Sigh, you had been nagging about it the whole night. Since they are willing to do unprofitable business, just let them do it. You’ll see that they will close their door within the next few days.” Mrs Sun wasn’t very bothered about it.

“Mom, dad, I’m back.” Sun Meimei pouted and walked over. Usually, she never bothers about these things. What matters is that they give her pocket money and her dad will take care of the rest.

“You’re back. Are you tired? What do you want to eat tonight?” Mrs Sun immediately pulled her over and said tenderly.

“How can I not be exhausted from studying? I’ve invited some friends out for dinner. Give me some more money.” Sun Meimei stretched out her hand.

Mrs Sun immediately took out her wallet without hesitation.

“Okay. Take the money and go upstairs and study. I still have something to discuss with your mother.” Mr Sun said imposingly.

Sun Meimei clutched the card tightly and went upstairs. She closed the door but didn’t study at all. She began to dress herself up, thinking of where to have fun later.

The next day, Xia Weilan was relieved to learn that the robber had confessed his wrongdoing. After that, she didn’t pursue the matter again and devoted herself to her studies. The next few days passed by peacefully.

One afternoon, Xia Weilan and Rui Li met Sun Meimei when they were walking past the boulevard.

Rui Li immediately narrowed her eyes at Sun Meimei. Xia Weilan wasn’t aware but Rui Li knew that Sun Meimei was the mastermind.

Mo-ge had instructed her not to act rashly as he will handle this matter himself. So, she didn’t take any action.

Sun Meimei was in a daze. Her parents just called her to inform her that their restaurant had gone bankrupt and they are moving to another city. She’s here to withdraw herself from the school.
