Rui Li poured a cup of tea for Nan Fengyan. She took some fruits from the fridge and washed them in the kitchen.

This is the first time that Nan Fengyan visited Rui Li’s apartment.

While sipping on his tea, he checked out the layout of the apartment. There were no extra items in the apartment. Everything in the apartment was essential items such as a coffee table, dining table, chairs, tea set, simple and clear. There was not even a brand handbag.

At this instant, Rui Li’s mobile phone that she left on the sofa rang. Nan Fengyan stared at it and saw a new text message displayed on the screen, “It’s a pleasure meeting you today. I hope we’ll have a chance to hang out again next time. Are you resting now? I…”

Just when both of them were silent, a loud thunder suddenly cracked. A flash of bright lightning pierced through the night sky, followed by heavy rain.

Rui Li recalled that she hadn’t closed the window in her bedroom yet and she quickly dashed into her bedroom.

The cold raindrops splashed on her face. She narrowed her eyes as she struggled to close the window to block the wind and rain coming in from outside. When she spun around, she fell into a strong embrace.

At some point, Nan Fengyan was standing very close to her. He was so close that when she took a step back, she was already in his arms.

Rui Li lifted her head and saw him gazing deeply at her. His gaze was like a spotlight that was about to see through her soul.

Rui Li was stunned when she met with his deep eyes. For a moment, she found herself forgetting to breathe. There was a tenderness in her eyes that she didn’t know existed that disappeared in a flash.

And Nan Fengyan caught that tenderness. He wondered that perhaps Rui Li didn’t hate him that much. And that means, he still had a chance.

After a long while, Rui Li finally reacted and gently pushed him away, “Why are you standing so close to me?”

“You are the one who leaned toward me. I just wanted to help you.” Nan Fengyan casually found an excuse.

After that, both of them stopped talking.

She checked the time and found that it was already twelve midnight. But it was raining outside and it wasn’t a good time to chase someone off now.

Rui Li hesitated for a while but eventually agreed and went into the guest room to prepare the beddings.

Nan Fengyan stood at the door, looking at Rui Li getting busy. He lifted his brows and curled his lips as he stared at her pacing around the room elegantly in her white dress.

When Xia Weilan was about to arrive at school, she realized that she had forgotten to take the documents and she rushed back to Fairview Imperial Court to retrieve them. When she arrived at A University again, the class had already started.

Xia Weilan ran over in a hurry and saw that the new teacher for the designing class was already standing on the stage, lecturing.

“I’m here!” Xia Weilan reported to the teacher.

The teacher frowned and turned to look at Xia Weilan. Today was her first class and she didn’t expect someone to be late for the class.

“How dared you come late for the first lesson. What kind of attitude is this? Stand over there!” The teacher said with a stern face.

Xia Weilan felt her heart thumping. She didn’t expect the teacher to be so strict,

“Teacher, I forgot to bring the learning materials, so I went back to retrieve them. I won’t do it again next time.”

While they were whispering to each other, the teacher shot a few glances at Xia Weilan.

Xia Weilan wanted to ask Rui Li why she had insomnia. Rui Li noticed that the teacher was staring at them and she quickly kicked Xia Weilan.

Xia Weilan turned her head, only to find the teacher staring at her with a face black as coal. She thought to herself that she must be having some really bad luck today and something bad is coming her way.

Sure enough, the teacher on the stage pointed to Xia Weilan and scolded, “This is a typical example of not wanting to self-advance. If a student like this does not repent in the future, it will be very difficult to accomplish anything.”
