The special police force moved quickly, taking control of everyone in less than a minute. Qin Yong came over to ask for further instructions.

"Take them all back, separate them, and interrogate them individually!" Du Ruo pointed at the scene. "Find more eyewitnesses, and thoroughly investigate this attack on Expert Zeng. Find out if there are any black hands behind it or if anyone is acting as a protector. I want to see a report when I come to work tomorrow!"

"Yes, sir!"

Qin Yong took the people away. With Du Ruo's instructions, he knew what to do. Even if it wasn't an attack on Expert Zeng, he would make it one. Without this understanding, how could he be a captain?

Just as Qin Yong left, the Tianfu District Public Security Bureau Chief, Ma Jinyou, arrived with his team.

Without asking for details, Ma Jinyou first apologized, "Director Du, I didn't do my job well. I apologize to you!"

Then he looked at Ma Jinyou and said sternly, "Lawless and arrogant! They even dared to beat our police officers. What kind of behavior is this? It's a direct challenge to us!"

Damn, a mistake, Ma Jinyou reacted quickly, "We will thoroughly investigate these criminals and give our comrades a satisfactory answer!"

Du Ruo pointed at Ma Jinyou, "Ma Jinyou, I have one question: Is the Tianfu District Bureau under your control? If not, I'll have someone else do it! The hands of criminals have already infiltrated our ranks!"

Ma Jinyou felt dizzy. Du Ruo's words were a huge shock, almost too much for his heart to bear. Hearing Chi Kangkai's name, he understood. Without hesitation, he ordered, "Immediately notify Political Director Liu Ming and Discipline Inspector Jie Guoqiang. We'll hold a meeting in ten minutes to discuss Chi Jian Gang's issue!"

Then he said to Du Ruo, "Director Du, I assure you that the Tianfu District Bureau is still a disciplined and cohesive team under your leadership!"

"I don't want to hear empty words; I want to see your actions!" Du Ruo raised his eyes, not even looking at Ma Jinyou.

Ma Jinyou didn't say more, saluted, and left to deal with Chi Jian Gang. He hated Chi Jian Gang, who had caused trouble and almost cost him his position. This time, he would investigate him thoroughly.

Chen Long was trembling with excitement, unable to calm down. He knew Chi Jian Gang was finished, utterly finished. Du Ruo had threatened Ma Jinyou's position, so Ma Jinyou would definitely go all out. Chen Long secretly glanced at Zeng Yi, thinking, "Secretary Tang, you should be worried about those thugs. They didn't get up for several minutes after being beaten by Zeng Yi, especially the big guy, who was still vomiting when he was dragged away with handcuffs."

"A few thugs can't hurt me," Zeng Yi shook his head. "Thank you, Brother Tang."

Du Ruo, having handled everything with a cold face, saw that Zeng Yi was fine and sighed in relief, "It's all my fault for not managing my subordinates well, which led to these troublemakers."

"These troublemakers tarnish our overall image," Tang Haoran said solemnly. "Let's all go together," Tang Haoran said, looking at the girl. "But you don't have to treat us. With us men here, how can we let you pay? That would be ridiculous."

"Right, let's all go!" Du Ruo invited her enthusiastically. "We can't eat here anymore. I'll arrange it. There's a great barbecue place on Qinglong Mountain in the suburbs. Let's go there!"

But the girl stomped her foot, "What's so great? I'm not going!" She turned and walked away, but stopped after a few steps, hesitated, and then shouted, "My name is Ye Qinghan, I'll remember you!"

"Ha ha ha..."

Tang Haoran and Du Ruo laughed.

Tang Haoran pointed at Zeng Yi, "Brother, the hardest thing to bear is a woman's gratitude. You're in trouble! But I think this girl is really nice, with character and charm. If you go after her now, it's not too late!"

Zeng Yi, feeling pressured by the two, said, "Are we still eating skewers?"

"Of course! Let's go!" Du Ruo and Tang Haoran stepped forward, still laughing.

Zeng Yi walked a few steps and turned to Chen Long, "Chief Chen, come with us. The medicine I bought is in your car, and I'll need you to drive me back after we eat."

"Go if I tell you to!" Du Ruo said coldly. "If you don't take Zeng back, do you want me to do it?"
