This year, autumn came suddenly. Last week, the sun was still bright and hot, as if the summer would never end. This week, after several days of continuous rain, the temperature dropped sharply.
When Jiang Ying left work, the light rain did not stop. They say that the misty rain in Jiangnan was as beautiful as poetry, but that was an artistic conception only found in literature. People who have really lived in that area would understand how annoying it was to see no sunshine for half a month and only constant rain.
Jiang Ying tightened her coat, opened her umbrella and walked into the rain.
The rainy day did not affect Cloudside Café’s good business.
It was completely dark. The small café was hidden between the tall buildings and the trees. It was bright and warm, like a jar of honey next to a night lamp.
The little bell rang as the glass door was pushed open.
The employee at the front looked up from reflex. “Welcome to Cloudside Café.”
Jiang Ying waved to Xiao Ran.
She pointed to the kitchen in the back. “The boss is inside.”
Jiang Ying smiled and walked in that direction.
At the beginning of the new semester, Zhao Xinrou became a senior who was about to graduate. She had a lot of things to do, so she quit her part-time job in the café.
Xiao Ran was Yun Xian’s new employee. She was a tall and cold girl with short gray blue hair. She liked to wear a wide sweater and overalls.
Some people guessed that she was a lesbian, but no one really dared to ask her it.
She was always alone at the counter quietly mixing coffee. Her slender fingers held a long silver spoon. There was a burning flame tattoo on the base of her left thumb.
She was pretty and had a unique personality. In addition, she was aloof, and not talkative. She could be considered a female ladies killer.
That’s why, the girls in the science park no longer talked about Yun Xian, but the new mysterious barista at Cloudside Café.
Jiang Ying pushed the curtains to the kitchen. Yun Xian and Su Cheng were packing the mooncake gift boxes for the Mid-Autumn Festival.
When Yun Xian saw that it was her, he immediately smiled. “You’re here.”
Jiang Ying gave an mhm, and took off her shoulder bag and went to help him.
It’s very strange that these two did not show any intimate behavior. They were like an old couple, but Su Cheng was still jealous.
He coughed and moved two steps aside.
Yun Xian looked up at him and teased, “Do you know what reverse karma is? I used to see you and Xiao Zhao just like this.”
""
Su Cheng couldn’t stand being teased. He blushed and said, “We were not as lovey-dovey as you two.”
Jiang Ying asked ignorantly, “What lovey-dovey stuff?”
Su Cheng could not say anything specific. “It’s just lovey-dovey.”
Yun Xian knew that he and Zhao Xinrou had recently been apart and could not see each other. Now that he saw a couple, he felt uncomfortable.
He put the gift box into a paper bag and tied a beautiful bow. He handed it to Su Cheng. “This is for Xiao Zhao. Please give it to her.”
Su Cheng took it. “Thank you, boss.”
Yun Xian said, “I’ll give you a day off on National Day1, and let the little lovers go out to play.”
Su Cheng’s eyes widened when he heard this and exclaimed, “Mom!”
Yun Xian frowned in disgust. “Call me brother, what mom?”
Su Cheng quickly acknowledged loudly, “Thank you, brother Xian!”
Yun Xian smiled and waved his hand. “Go outside and help Xiao Ran. It’ll be fine here with me and sister Xiao Jiang.”
Su Cheng saluted and went out. ꜱᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴏɴ ꜰᴏxᴀʜᴏʟɪᴄ.ᴄᴏᴍ

There were only two of them left in the back kitchen. Between Jiang Ying and Yun Xian, one folded the paper box and the other put it in the bag. They worked together well.
Jiang Ying casually chatted with Yun Xian. “When I first came in, all the little girls outside were straining their necks to see Xiao Ran. It was so amusing.”
Yun Xian gave an oh with a questioning tone.
Jiang Ying: “Where did you attract such an immortal beauty? It’s really visually appealing seeing her make coffee.”
Yun Xian stopped working and turned to look at Jiang Ying.
Facing his gaze, Jiang Ying stepped back without thinking. “What’s wrong?”
Yun Xian looked away. “Nothing.”
It’s not hard for Jiang Ying to guess what he was thinking, but she wanted to do something naughty.
“Eeh, did you ask her if she was really that?”
Yun Xian didn’t answer. He raised his hand and flicked Jiang Ying’s forehead. He did not do it strongly, but her skin was thin, and there was a red mark immediately.
Jiang Ying let out a yelp. She covered her forehead and angrily asked him, “Why did you hit me?”
Yun Xian asked her, “What did you just say?”
""
Jiang Ying pouted and grunted, “Xiao Ran would never hit a person.”
Yun Xian was helpless and simply couldn’t do anything about her. He put his arms around her into a hug and gently blew the red area on her forehead. He said softly, “I really don’t understand why you always try to provoke me. You know how much I care about you.”
As soon as he said this, Jiang Ying’s heart immediately skipped a beat. A sense of guilt hit her, and she felt stressed and regretful.
All women in love acted without thinking. It turns out, she was no different.
Since she couldn’t bear to see Yun Xian feel wronged, Jiang Ying gave him a peck. With a gentle voice, she coaxed him with the truth, “Boss Yun is the best looking barista.”
Otherwise, that night, she would not be able to stay and would leave with a broken heart.
Yun Xian was always easy to coax, and he didn’t really feel wronged. He kissed Jiang Ying on the forehead and asked, “Does it hurt?”
Jiang Ying shook her head, then changed it to a nod. She was shameless and coquettish. “It hurts so much, but it’ll be better if you kiss me again. Why don’t you kiss me once more?”
Then she looked up to get closer to him. Yun Xian avoided her forehead and kissed her on the lips.
At this moment, the mood was there. It would be too disappointing not to do anything.
In front of other people, they always acted courteously and their behavior could be said to be very respectful like a married couple. But behind closed doors, it was different.
Su Cheng was right in his complaints just now. These two were very lovey-dovey in everything.
The room outside was busy. The talking and chatting was occasionally mixed with the tinkering sound of metal tableware and porcelain plates and cups.
The kitchen was gradually warming up through the silence and ambiguity.
Yun Xian propped Jiang Ying up on the table and kissed her on the lips. Jiang Ying put her arms around his neck. She matched his breathing and they merged together. Their heartbeats slowly synchronized.
Kissing was always a delight. The lips were together, and their body and mind belonged to the other only. This type of intimacy was the simplest and most touching.
She had just been caught in the rain, and her body was cold. Now, Jiang Ying’s face and neck were covered with a pink hue, and her forehead was sweaty. She felt stuffy. She took off her coat and pulled down the zipper of her sweater.
After the long kiss, Yun Xian hugged Jiang Ying and slowed down his breathing.
The café’s business had improved because of Xiao Ran. Yun Xian was naturally happy as the boss. But sometimes even Jiang Ying couldn’t help it and would prop up her chin and stare at her, which made him secretly jealous a few times.
Jiang Ying put on her coat again. She licked her lower lip and asked him, “What delicious food did you secretly take a bite of?”
Yun Xian thought for a while and said with a smile, “Rabbit pudding. It is a Mid-Autumn Festival exclusively made by Su Cheng. I just tried it.”
Jiang Ying had not eaten dinner yet. She had a craving after tasting a little sweet. “Do you have any more?”
Yun Xian shook his head. “No, it’s all gone.”
Jiang Ying let out a frustrated whimper.
Yun Xian rubbed her head. “Why don’t we continue kissing for a while? I heard that kissing is filling.”
“Really?”
“I don’t know, but we can test it by practicing.”
Seeing he was serious about this nonsense, Jiang Ying was speechless and wanted to laugh. She pushed him away with a red face and jumped off the table. “Let’s hurry up and finish our work. Then, let’s go to eat!”
