"Preparations are not bad, but you’ve targeted the wrong person."

Yuanxiao sneered and the key in his hand flashed, instantly unlocking the iron chains on his wrists.

"Quick! Quick! Rescue the person... and set up a firing line."

"Make sure L’s safety is guaranteed, and have doctors and nurses ready."

Loud roars came from outside, and the wooden door, unable to withstand the force, was directly smashed open.

Ten red, flat darts were held in his hand. FBI agents wearing gas masks rushed in one after another. They charged through the smoke towards Yuanxiao, treating him as L to be rescued, while their automatic weapons were aimed at the opposite side.

"At this moment, we can only rely on our hearing."

Yuanxiao closed his eyes and listened carefully. The darts in his hand, coated with a paralyzing agent, were shot out like lightning. Ten FBI agents were immediately struck and fell to the ground, and the subsequent FBI agents who entered were taken down by Yuanxiao before they could react.

These FBI agents were skilled, but only relative to ordinary people.

If they were to engage in close combat with a master of national martial arts who had reached the level of hidden strength, they wouldn’t even last a single move. The hidden strength could cause their limbs to go numb in an instant, and then they would be knocked down by a hand strike.

Everything happened so quickly that the FBI agents outside hadn’t even reacted.

"Everyone, stand back and prepare the stretcher. L was hit on the head by debris and needs immediate medical attention."

Yuanxiao’s tone changed as he shouted. This was his second method besides disguise; he could mimic any voice he had heard. This time, mimicking the voice of the FBI agents who rushed into the room, it indeed caused chaos outside.

Taking advantage of this moment, Yuanxiao found two flashbangs on the FBI agents and pulled the pins.

A flashbang has a 2 to 3-second delay before it explodes. Yuanxiao held it for two seconds before throwing it outside. The intense white light blinded everyone, but no one dared to fire a shot.

Over a dozen FBI agents were crowded on both sides of the corridor. Firing at this moment would inevitably injure their own people.

No one noticed a black shadow sliding along the ground, using the walls and door frames like a fish, slipping under the feet of the FBI agents, and then breaking the window with a single shot, leaping down from the fifth floor.

For an ordinary person, jumping from the fifth floor would be suicide.

But for Yuanxiao, as long as the walls weren’t perfectly smooth, any protruding window sill, pipe, or wire could serve as a foothold to reduce the gravitational acceleration and control his descent to the ground.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Yuanxiao’s stolen pistol fired three shots, accurately hitting the FBI agents crouching in the darkness below.

There were no more people, and no Japanese police. Clearly, this was a private operation by the FBI.

If he was right, it was the information from the Grim Reaper that had caught the attention of the FBI’s higher-ups, leading to this violent arrest. Such a brutal method of breaking through walls to make an arrest could easily result in L being injured.

Crossing several streets in the darkness and reaching a residential area, Yuanxiao easily climbed to the second floor, becoming an uninvited guest.

He easily knocked out the sleeping family of three, and in the bathroom, he removed his facial disguise and took off his dusty black casual clothes, washing the dust off his body with hot water from the solar heater.

"Too careless..."

After washing, Yuanxiao sighed, looking at himself in the bathroom mirror.

This was his first time entering a fantasy world. Both he and Tock were novices in the profession, and they hadn’t fully understood the dangers of the fantasy plane. They had underestimated the natives of this world.

Just as Tock had made a mistake with the secondary invisibility spell, he had also made a mistake by underestimating the situation.

Based on the initial assumption, L was definitely a very calm person who would naturally choose to cooperate with a mysterious person who showed no hostility.

But the result was completely opposite. L chose to secretly leak the information he provided and even used himself as bait. This unexpected change directly led to the failure of his plan to ally with L and use his power against the Grim Reaper.

"Something’s not right..."

A spark of realization flashed in Yuanxiao’s mind. There was a flaw in all these assumptions.

L was always with her. How did he manage to pass on the information he obtained from Yuanxiao to plan the arrest? This wasn’t just a few words but a detailed plan. Otherwise, the FBI wouldn’t have made such a big move.

Recalling every moment of his interaction with L, Yuanxiao was certain that L had no opportunity to make such arrangements.

"Unless..."

Yuanxiao whispered, "Unless there was a third person present who heard my conversation with L and relayed it to the FBI, which is why they decided to take such drastic action, ignoring the Kanto police."

"Tock..."

Yuanxiao narrowed his eyes, his voice cold.

In the entire world, the only person who could silently infiltrate his side without being noticed, besides the Grim Reaper, was Tock, who was skilled in the secondary invisibility spell. No wonder there had been no abnormal deaths in the city for so many days.

Because Tock hadn’t been killing blindly; he had been following him from the beginning.

"Is this the power of a professional?"

Yuanxiao laughed excitedly. Tock, a novice professional who had only learned a few basic spells, had made all his plans come to naught. This was the first time he had personally experienced the power of a professional.

To leave or to stay and confront...

Yuanxiao pondered silently. He didn’t know how many spells Tock knew.

If one of them was a tracking spell, then no matter what method he used, he could only evade Tock for a short time.

Having been tricked once, he would ensure that any future plans were foolproof.

"Come out, Tock!"

Yuanxiao opened a bottle of cold soda and sat on the living room sofa, speaking calmly.

Five minutes passed, and Yuanxiao’s face showed signs of impatience and anger.

"If you don’t show up, you won’t get any more information. Don’t forget, I’m the plane traveler. Since you’ve been following me, you should know that the Grim Reaper exists in this world, and it’s not something we can deal with."

"Can’t help it, you found me."

The sofa opposite Yuanxiao sank slightly, and with a flash of light, Tock appeared.

"You’ve been following me all along." Yuanxiao slammed the table, furious.

"My friend, don’t be angry."

The cunning in Tock’s eyes flashed and then disappeared, and he said awkwardly, "I just wanted to protect you at first. I didn’t expect your computer skills to be so high, allowing you to freely hack into this world’s network. We’re partners, so sharing a bit of information shouldn’t make you angry."

"Nice words, but you almost got me killed by the FBI."

Yuanxiao’s anger intensified.

"This really can’t be blamed on me."

Tock looked helpless, "I didn’t expect them to use such violent methods to arrest you. It’s definitely the plane’s origin rejecting us. Okay, I admit I was wrong. I wanted to play the hero to get closer to you."

"Playing the hero, don’t use Eastern terms if you don’t understand them."

Yuanxiao snorted coldly, but his anger subsided slightly.

"As an apology, shouldn’t you get me a clean set of clothes?"

Yuanxiao huffed.

Tock hesitated for a moment, then nodded and left through the window. He knew Yuanxiao had a cleanliness obsession and wouldn’t wear clothes that others had worn. Now, he needed to mend their relationship, and refusing at this moment would be pointless.

Anyway, no matter what Yuanxiao planned to do, he couldn’t escape Tock’s magical tracking.
