As Xuanyang covered Li Huowang's mouth, the others with the torches rushed up quickly and surrounded Li Huowang in the middle with a hostile look.
"Not leaving, aren't you? Then you'll die here today! There's no way we're going to let you blab it to the scald head!"
Being in the juncture of survival, Li Huowang did not panic at all. He
silently rolled his eyes, cursed the thickening plot of the illusion, closed
his eyes and began to take a deep breath.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself bound to the hospital bed by a wide belt, and the brothers and sisters who had surrounded him had disappeared.
"Aunt Wang, I'm awake. Can you loosen it for me?" Li Huowang called the night nurse into the bedside microphone. He was eager to see if the jade pendant was in his clothes.
However, after shouting for a long time, there was no response. Li Huowang realized nurse Wang is binge-watching the "Mary Sue" series during the night shift again. She's always loafing around.
Li Huowang looked down at his chest, which was wrapped in a blue and white hospital gown, and wriggled desperately, trying to sense whether there was a jade on his chest by squeezing it.
But now he's solidly bound. All he felt was speciosity. After a few tries, he gave up helplessly.
Gave a yawn, Li Huowang could only lie in bed now, praying that nurse Wang could have a compassionate look at the camera after the series.
Although the second floor is for critical patients, it is still very quiet at late night. Li Huowang fell asleep. When he woke up again, he found himself lying on the cold cave floor.
He was still in the same position where he left, but those who had tried to escape had all disappeared.
'Tush, are these NPCs trying to gang up on me? Li Huowang took out the jade pendant and gently upcasted it in the palm of his hand and put it into his bosom again.
When he returned to the big bunk where he lived, he lay in his haystack and waited patiently for the day to come. Thinking about how valuable that jade is, he was so excited that he could not sleep at all.
Without a clock, Li Huowang did not know how long it had passed. When he saw that the brothers on both sides began to wake up, he sat up too.
"Since this mirage is in the morning, then Aunt Wang should also change shifts. Why don't I go back now? Nurse Ai is much more dedicated than her."
Just when Li Huowang was hesitating, there was a rush of footsteps at the door.
A Taoist boy in a black robe, with his hair tied up, came in from outside in flurry.
"Hurry up! Master let everyone go to Hui An Hall!!"
The sudden news made everyone confused, but since it was the master who asked them to go, they had no excuse to refuse.
Soon, in the largest cave of the so-called Hui An Hall, all the disciples were presented. The light of the torch shone clear on all the confused faces.
Li Huowang was keenly aware of something weird. There were fewer people in the crowd. In addition to Xuanyang, several direct-tutored disciples of the scald-head master were also absent.
"Aiyo, did they also escape?" He gloated about the fun. What he saw made him feel like he was watching a show.
When a head poked out of the dark, creeping tunnel, all but Li Huowang hung their heads.
That is their master, Danyoncius (Dan Yang Zi, Zi means -cius like Confucius. Here it means someone profound in Dao cultivation.).
"Cough!" A cough made everyone tense up.
"Last night during the ten p.m., some people tried to escape, including two of this Daoist master's own disciples. I am so heartbroken!!"
He spoke of "heartbroken", yet the anger in his face was so great that it almost condensed into substance.
"It's that simple to be discovered? These guys with Xuanyang are really lame." Li Huowang twitched his lips.
"As the saying goes, 'Nothing can be accomplished without norms or standards, the mistakes will be punished. This is the rule of my Westmount Donghua sect! Come with me."
All the disciples, not daring to breathe, silently followed Danyoncius.
After passing through caverns of all sizes and a fast-flowing underground river, they soon found themselves in a damp cave the size of a schoolroom.
Li Huowang saw that those who escaped last night were all tied and piled up in the corner of the cave.
As these drooping disciples saw their master, they were immediately excited to struggle and seemed to want to tell something. But the rags in their mouths prevented them from saying anything.
Danyoncius did not seem willing to hear their excuses. He turned his hand inward and form a Daoist seal. "Open!"
The eroded smooth ground of the cave suddenly opened a large hole. The fleeing disciples fell in at once.
The next moment, hysterical cries and screams came from the hole, accompanied by the sound of tearing flesh and breaking bones.
In the face of such a horrific scene, many of the Dao boy's legs have begun to tremble, and itch to close their eyes.
"Come closer! This is what happens when they run away!" Danyoncius' words turned everyone's faces pale.
No one dared to disobey the master's order. All of them were pushed and shoved to the edge of the cave.
The cave was dark, very dark, pitch black.
The dark circular cave was like a whirlpool that seemed to draw everyone into it.
After careful identification, Li Huowang saw a big black cauldron inside the hole. The rim of the cauldron bore some twisted talisman.
Something seemed to be moving inside the cauldron, but Li Huowang could not see it clearly. The only information he could receive with his nose was the pungent, sickening smell of blood inside.
Whatever's in here, it's definitely very dangerous.
"The stuff in the hallucination shouldn't hurt me. It's never happened before."
Even so, his heart was in suspense, ready to retreat to the hospital at any moment.
"Swoop!" A peristaltic black shadow flew out from the hole instantly, wrapped around a junior brother's body and shrank back.
All the people were frightened by this scene and moved back to the smooth wall of the cave. If Danyoncius had not been watching, they would have run out.
The faces of almost all the people present at this point became very frightened. They were trembling and guessing what it was.
But those who guessed did not include Li Huowang. Since he was the closest, he got a better look.
It was a mass of fleshy black material, with clumps of short, fluttering black tentacles on its slimy skin!
From this alone, Li Huowang was sure that the things Danyoncius raised in this cave were definitely not ordinary things in the world.
As for what it is, Li Huowang could not guess and did not want to go over to see it again.
Although he knew these things were from his brain, he really want to know why this kind of thing exist in his imaginary world.
As Li Huowang looked around at this immaculate reality, a terrible conjecture occurred to him. "Is this horrible, weird world for real?"
This conjecture instantly let Li Huowang's body tremble, he thought of those people who died before, if those people are real and not his illusion. it means that he was just about to die if he was caught by that creature?
Li Huowang was almost overwhelmed by the suffocating fear. He took a few deep breaths and immediately began to teach himself the way Dr Li had taught him.
"These are illusions, no matter how realistic they look. Li Huowang, you must not get lost in these illusions. They are all created by you, what are you afraid of?"
"Yang Na is still waiting for me. I can't let her down. I'll overcome this! I definitely will!"
After straightening himself out, Li Huowang's mood gradually stabled down, and
can calmly face everything in front of him.
