Lin Ye followed her, one step behind. He saw Shen-PD turn around to face him under the sun, a smile in her eyes that was similar to the smile she had during the first rating performance, “Lin Ye, I had a very deep impression of you. Your strength shouldn’t be only that of Class D, and you shouldn’t be staying in Class D, you can go to a higher place.”
Shen-PD said, “Lin Ye, your foundation and skills are not inferior to those in Class A, but your attitude towards the stage is very different from theirs. No matter how good your foundation and skills are, you can’t make up for the difference in attitude.”
She waved her hand at Lin Ye, “Come here.”
Lin Ye slowly walked to stand under the sun.
“Doesn’t it feel good to be in the sun? To us, the stage is like sunshine,” PD-Shen’s expression was solemn, “Lin Ye, you only have two choices, either shine on stage or leave this place. If you don’t want to shine on stage, there’s no need for you to wait to be eliminated, you can leave now.”
She added, “There’s no need for you to waste your time here, you can use this time to do something more meaningful. Furthermore, for the people that are waiting for the opportunity to be on stage, you’re squandering the resources that they dream of and stepping on their dream.”
Lin Ye stayed on the balcony, letting the sun shine on him till his hair was hot. At the moment he pushed open the balcony door, he saw Jiang Lian lowering his head and leaning his back against the corner of the wall from the corner of his eye. He was a little stunned and coughed lightly, like trying to regain his voice after a long time, “When did you come here?”
Jiang Lian raised his eyes to look at him and opened his mouth to say in a light voice, “This is the blind spot of the camera in the corridor.”
Lin Ye steadily looked at the thing Jiang Lian was holding in his hand. After a moment, he narrowed his eyes and said calmly, “You’re hiding a phone.”
Jiang Lian neither denied nor confirmed Lin Ye’s statement, “So what if I’m hiding a phone?”
“Don’t you know the consequences of hiding a cell phone?” Lin Ye asked, “The trainees whose second phones were found in their dormitory had their credits deducted. If ten points are deducted from your credits, the producers will directly ask you to leave. Aren’t you afraid that I will report you to the staff?”
Jiang Lian said, “You can go if you want to.”
Lin Ye did not say anything.
After a moment, as if he had suddenly let out a long breath, Lin Ye’s shoulders fell slightly and he lowered his eyes to say in a low voice, “If you lend me your phone for a while, I won’t report you, how about that?”
Lin Ye did not agree or disagree and asked him, “Who do you want to call?”
Lin Ye’s tone was vague, “I want to call my family.”
Jiang Lian said, “I heard that on the night where the producers arranged for trainees to call their family members, there were trainees who did not take part in the recording.”
Lin Ye frowned at him.
“If you want to call your company, there’s no need to do so,” Jiang Lian leaned against the wall, his fingers clamping on the phone, “Shen-PD was right, with how you are now, for the people that are waiting for the opportunity to be on stage, you’re squandering the resources that they dream of and stepping on their dream.”
Lin Ye raised the tip of his feet and lightly touched the floor once in a while. His voice was calm and natural, but there was also an imperceptible stubbornness to it, “When I got this opportunity, I also lost some things.”
“Is it very difficult to calculate your gains and losses?” Jiang Lian’s expression and gaze were cold, his voice sounding a little unkind, “Originally, you had both your left and right hand, but now, you’ve lost your left hand. Why can’t you hold onto your right hand tightly? Do you want to wait till you’ve lost both hands before you feel regretful and repent?”
Lin Ye looked up in stunned. He saw Jiang Lian frown and ask him, “How old are you?”
His lips moved slightly and he opened his mouth hesitantly, “My birthday hasn’t passed yet, so I’m nineteen.”
“Aside from the re-rating that will happen with the theme song task, there’s also the chance to participate in the recording of the theme song,” Jiang Lian kept his phone and walked back, “Think about it carefully.”
Lin Ye stayed in the same spot, his heart wavering. When he saw Jiang Lian’s back moving further and further away, he suddenly returned to his senses and chased after Jiang Lian, pulling on his arm, “Can you help me look at the details of my dance for the theme song?”
Jiang Lian stopped walking, his expression calm as he turned his head back to look at him, “What did you say?”
Lin Ye gently raised his eyebrows and looked at him, “Help me pick out the details of the dance, or I’ll report you to the dormitory management for hiding—”
He did not finish speaking.
Jiang Lian reached out a finger to block his mouth.
Lin Ye stopped speaking.
Jiang Lian got close to him, his voice low and soft, “The camera’s record sounds too.”
Lin Ye returned to his senses and nodded his head silently.
The finger that was pressing on his lips was lifted slightly, but the next second, it was against his jaw. Jiang Lian raised Lin Ye’s chin slightly, his gaze sweeping across Lin Ye’s lips.
Then, he loosened his hold on him, his words concise and simple, “It’s time for you to put on lip balm.”
Lin Ye’s expression was slightly stiff.
It was only when the Jiang Lian’s back disappeared from his field of vision that Lin Ye raised his fingertips and rubbed his dry lower lip.
