Lin Ye looked around the classroom.
The three other Class A students that had originally been practicing their dance behind Li Yuan had their backs turned to them. They were sitting cross-legged in a corner as they practiced their singing, they seemed indifferent to the happenings in the classroom.
Ming Rang and Jiang Lian bent their legs as they sat against the wall under the window. The former looked like he was very interested in watching the drama unfold while the latter was wearing a white baseball cap, the brim was pulled very low on his head, only showing his well-shaped chin and lips. He had not raised his head once since they entered the room.
Lin Ye had enough reason to suspect that Jiang Lian had been lowering his head and playing with his phone this whole while.
Jiang Lian was unwilling to help him with his dance in private, even when he used the fact that Jiang Lian was hiding a phone to threaten him. He would be lying if he said that he did not care about that incident. He even felt awkward seeing Jiang Lian again.
Besides awkwardness, Lin Ye felt glad. He felt glad that Jiang Lian did not raise his head to look at him at all. It had been less than 24 hours since Jiang Lian’s rejection and Lin Ye was unable to stand in front of Jiang Lian calmly and pretend that nothing happened yesterday.
However, he did not expect Jiang Lian’s following actions either.
While everyone was waiting to see the drama unfold, Jiang Lian stood up without any warning, striding through the scattered crowd, walking past Lin Ye’s side like an indifferent passer-by, his gaze unmoving as he walked out of the classroom.
Lin Ye was slightly stunned. The embarrassment that had not appeared when Li Yuan purposely made trouble for him finally appeared.
Although he did not expect that he would be considered as an important friend of Jiang Lian, Lin Ye felt that the relationship between him and Jiang Lian had at least smoothly transitioned from strangers to something that was between acquaintances and friends.
Jiang Lian’s attitude seemed to be a slap in the face, telling him that he was wrong about his assumptions on their relationship.
Lin Ye said, “Since there are too many people, I’ll just go back and practice on my own.”
He curled his lips and smiled at Li Yuan. While the other looked slightly stunned, he walked out of the room. As he walked, he pulled out a piece of chocolate from his trousers pocket, flipping it between his fingertips as he slowly opened the layer of wrapping paper wrapped around the chocolate.
When he passed by the stairway in front of Class A’s classroom, Lin Ye rolled the wrapping paper in his hand into a ball, turning to walk towards the dustbin at the entrance of the stairway.
When he turned the corner, he almost ran into the figure standing at the entrance of the stairway.
Lin ye stopped in time, but the wrapper that had been kneaded into a ball by him was taken away from his fingertips by that person.
“I always plan my whole day in advance,” Jiang Lian turned around and threw the rubbish into the trash can next to him, “What are you giving me in exchange for me setting aside additional time to help you perfect your dance?”
Lin Ye looked at him in shock, but only saw the small shadow cast by the baseball cap on Jiang Lian’s face.
Jiang Lian turned a blind eye to the change of expression on Lin Ye’s face. His gaze stayed on Lin Ye’s slightly bulging cheeks for a second, “What are you eating?”
Lin Ye answered, slightly dazed, “Chocolate.”
Jiang Lian asked, “Do you have more?”
Lin Ye said that he had more.
Jiang Lian stopped asking him and looked at him from top to bottom. Then, he took a step forward and reached his hand into Lin Ye’s slightly bulging trousers pocket.
When that hand was pulled back again, there was a piece of chocolate in his palm.
“I’ll take this in exchange,” Jiang Lian glanced down at the chocolate that he was holding between his fingertips. Then, he raised his hand to take off the white baseball cap on his head and turned his wrist, putting the baseball cap on Lin Ye’s head.
The brim of the baseball cap covered most of his sight and Lin Ye could not see the other’s face. He could only hear Jiang Lian open his mouth to speak. The sound was not far or near, it was not loud or soft, but it was a little hard to hear.
Jiang Lian laughed like he was in a good mood, but still retained his familiar cold tone.
He heard Jiang Lian say, “Come and look for me in Class A’s small classroom at ten in the evening.”
