There were still some leftovers in You Xi’s space pocket and he could also provide snacks each afternoon. It wasn’t a problem to carry 1 Gu Mian and Xiao Lu for a few days, so he was in no rush.
The others were neither his younger brothers or important for task clearance. He was too lazy to care about them.
You Xi changed the subject and asked everyone, “Has anyone seen Miss Ren who shared a room with Xiao Lu before?”
Everyone shook their heads.
“She’s probably dead.” You Xi speculated. “The headless ghost was eliminated yesterday, but Dr. Liu turned into a ghost to kill people again. After I rescued Xiao Lu and Gu Mian, Dr. Liu fled. Perhaps he killed Miss Ren in some corner.”
Leaving Miss Ren’s body was a safety hazard. The group of people who hadn’t eaten anything had to start a carpet search again, then finally found Miss Ren in a room on the third floor. She had been dead for a long time.
Dr. Liu probably learned to cherish something after he’d lost it. His own eyes and mouth were stolen, creating a darkness in his heart, so now he needed spares. Miss Ren was almost completely unrecognizable now; her eyes and mouth had been gouged out.
You Xi arranged for the middle-aged man and the fat otaku to move the body to the Sunday Room. The middle-aged man was spirited inside his heart and worked hard, but the fat otaku bluntly refused: “Sir, I’m starving and dizzy. I really have no energy.”
You Xi didn’t care and simply handed it over to the middle-aged man to move it alone.
After Miss Ren was placed into the coffin, some people asked: “Is it actually useful to put the corpse in the coffin? Didn’t Dr. Liu leave and harm people last night?”
“Yesterday I played a trick with Dr. Liu’s corpse and used him to handle the headless ghost.” You Xi gently explained. “Today I need to use Miss Ren for another experiment to prove that after putting the corpse in the coffin, it won’t harm people at night.”
“If you don’t believe I’m reliable, who can suggest a better way to deal with the corpse?”
Everyone was silent.
At noon that day, the waiter was angry because the raw meat and bloody soup from that morning weren’t eaten. They said that food shouldn’t be wasted. If the dishes on the table weren’t finished, the villa would no longer provide the guests with fresh meals.
Although it had been long expected that this would be the case, the illusion was shattered. Everyone couldn’t help but complain and vent their dissatisfaction about those who didn’t report the clues.
“If a certain someone wasn’t selfish and irritated Mr. Boss, wouldn’t we not be hungry?”
The old man became the focus of everyone’s suspicious and felt great pressure. He tried to prove his innocence, but when he returned to the room alone with the middle-aged man, he ripped off his disguise.
“Everyone is pressuring me, but I didn’t confess that you went to the third floor.” The old man said to the middle-aged man. “Yesterday you came back and told me nothing was there, but today it seems that things are different than what you said.”
“Tell me about the clues you found yesterday.” The old man coaxed. “We’re grasshoppers on the same rope. We should help each other in crucial moments and keep a trump card.”
On the other side, the Friday room where Xiao Lu lived was ruined because the window was broken. No one could live there anymore, so You Xi took Xiao Lu and moved into Gu Mian’s Saturday room.
Gu Mian’s original roommate was a suited businessman named Li Jun. When he heard that You Xi was moving in, he not only cheerfully agreed, but also diligently helped move a bed and quilt, which made a lot of noise.
Jiang Jiang looked faintly at You Xi who was moving out with great fanfare. He sobbed like a resentful wife: “Why do you have a new lover so soon? Don’t you want me anymore?”
You Xi glanced over at Jiang Jiang with peach blossom eyes and smiled, staying silent.
The others may not know the meaning behind the smile, but Jiang Jiang understood it in his heart. You Xi was telling him — ‘Stop pretending like that in front of me, I won’t eat it.’ 2 Jiang Jiang bitterly lowered his head, a smidgeon of unwillingness flashing in his eyes. You Xi was truly strong, but it didn’t matter. As long as the game wasn’t over, he still had a chance.
Li Jun was eager to help, wanting to eat from the boss’s hands. You Xi was very generous. With a big wave of his hand, he generously bequeathed him a plate of meatballs and vegetables for dinner.
Li Jun was full of expectation, but couldn’t help but fall into contemplated when he saw the wilted vegetables.
If he remembered correctly… this seemed to be the leftovers that the boss took away the first night at the villa. How many days had passed? Could it still be eaten?
Li Jun looked accusatorily at the boss, but saw that the latter was holding a bun and eating bitter melon with relish.
Looking at the bitter melon, the color had decayed from the original emerald green to a grey-green. There was no doubt that the bitter melon was also a leftover.
Li Jun felt a deep doubt about life–
This boss doesn’t seem to be as great as he seems. Is it really worth it to try and hug his thighs?
That night, the 12 o’clock chime rang. Except for Xiao Lu, the three adult men in the room all awoke from their sleep. But perhaps due to good luck, the night passed peacefully for them.
However, just because the murderous ghost didn’t come to the Saturday room, that doesn’t mean it left the others alone.
On the morning of the fourth day, the tall and thin university student and the fat otaku both died in the Tuesday room. Half of the thin face was gnawed off, and the internal organs of the fat otaku were scattered across the ground.
The fat auntie collapsed: “I can’t stand it anymore! I haven’t eaten or drank anything. At night, if the ghosts come to me, don’t even mention resisting, I don’t even have enough strength to escape!”
She rushed to the first floor and drank her first mouthful of human blood soup. With the first person setting the stage, everyone else followed suit. They released the last barrier in their hearts and ate and drank around the table.
They had to supplement their nutrition to regain their strength. Otherwise, what would they do to fend off the devilish ghosts at night?
When the four in You Xi’s group went downstairs, the scene they saw was like hell on earth. After being hungry for only a day, people ripped off their masks of civility and drank human blood.
Li Jun looked at them, taking a step back in surprise. Only then did he realize how special it was to be able to eat a normal meal with the boss.
After eating, a nicely dressed woman in glasses brought out some toilet paper and wiped at the blood on the corner of her mouth. She looked at You Xi and spoke in an unhurried voice: “Sir, we checked this morning. Miss Ren is still in the coffin; the body hasn’t changed. Dr. Liu should be the one that killed last night.”
You Xi nodded while sitting on the sofa.
“Are the two extra corpses going to be kept in coffins today?” The woman asked. “There are only two coffins. What should we do with the extra corpse?”
You Xi raised his eyes to look over the group and reminded them: “You need to find an empty coffin. There was a ghost in the Sunday room. We added a roommate without her consent, and she tolerated it. If another corpse takes over her bed, she will become homeless at night. She may run away.”
“The matter of dealing with the two extra corpses – think of a solution yourselves.” You Xi didn’t want to say anything else. After he revealed the existence of the female ghost to everyone, the system administrator was nagging in his ears again.
A level three warning about disrupting the progress of a ghost attack.
This broken game had restrictions everywhere.
For a whole day, You Xi didn’t appear in the dining hall again. He stayed in the room to catch up on sleep until the evening, when Gu Mian woke him up in a panic–
Something happened outside.
After You Xi left, the survivors tried to spontaneously move the corpse to the Sunday room, but they failed. One coffin could only hold one corpse. If you wanted to put two in it, the coffin lid wouldn’t close.
He didn’t know who had the bad idea to suggest that everyone eat the extra corpses.
You Xi felt a chill as he listened.
“Who wants to eat them?” You Xi said. “Five people have died. Except for Jiang Jiang and us four, there are only four people doing things. With only four of them, how could they eat two corpses in one meal?”
“Of course no one wanted to eat them. These two corpses weren’t completely eliminated like the headless ghost. What if the corpses are resurrected inside their stomachs in the middle of the night after eating them?” Li Jun said. “So they had another bad idea and made a living sacrifice.”
“What living sacrifice?”
“It was Jiang Jiang. They guessed Jiang Jiang may have angered you, so he was already considered abandoned. They pushed him out and forced him to eat the corpses. If he doesn’t eat, he’ll be locked in the Sunday room and be forbidden to come out.” Gu Mian didn’t know Jiang Jiang was the boss. He and Jiang Jiang got along rather well, and he couldn’t bear for him to die. “Please, no matter how little you care about this group of people, the situation is spiraling out of control!”
You Xi breathed out a sigh. Speaking of manipulative operations, these so-called ordinary players were the real manipulators.
“It’s not good to be provocative. They’re just provoking Jiang Jiang.” You Xi sighed. He felt like Lin Chong, forced to climb Liangshan. 3
Thinking about the resulting destruction of the group, You Xi was sad, but he still had to resolve some contradictions.
Passing through the Wednesday room where Jiang Jiang lived, You Xi saw that the room was a mess and the windows were broken by the mob whose lives were slowly coming to an end.
Blocking the front of the Sunday door were four people, headed by the middle-aged man. They weren’t at all shocked to see You Xi approach.
“Sir said for us to figure it out ourselves, so we found a way.” The upper class woman wearing glasses said slowly. “Please don’t criticize our actions from a moral high ground. We are at a stalemate. We know etiquette and how to eat and drink, but we also know honor and disgrace. We are at the end of the road, and what we yearn for is nothing beyond survival.”
You Xi said: “You are indeed at the end of the road, but the two of them aren’t the old man.”
“They hold the clues in their hands and have the courage to fight against me. If I don’t want the clues to be lost, I have to protect them.” You Xi asked the upper class woman. “What about you? What reason have you given for me to protect you?”
The upper class woman turned pale and looked at the middle-aged man in surprise. She pressed her lips together, as if trying her best to think of countermeasures to fight back. But the fat auntie who shared a room with her was obviously not so calm, and immediately cursed at her.
“Old man, you’re not good! Why would you lie to us and say the clue is in Jiang Jiang’s hands! No wonder we tore apart Jiang Jiang’s room and didn’t find anything. It turns out that it was hidden by you the entire time! What an old immortal, how could you say you’re sorry yet want to harm people like this–“
“Stop talking!” The upper class woman yelled angrily, but her pig teammates had completely strayed from her countermeasures. They were snapping at people like rabid dogs.
At that point, the old man simply broke the jar: 4 “Yes. I know important clues to complete the mission. If Sir protects me until the sixth day, I’ll tell you the clues. What do you think?”
You Xi smiled. “I don’t think much.”
A quick battle was assured, who would delay it until the sixth day?
He gestured with a glance. Gu Mian and Li Jun rushed forward to subdue the middle-aged man, and the situation rapidly changed. The fat auntie and the upper class woman quickly switched sides, knocking the old man to the ground, punching and kicking three times, five times, without mercy!
The two who were instantly captured never thought things would turn out that way.
“Don’t fight anymore!” The old man cradled his head in regret.
Although the middle-aged man was large, he was afraid of hardship and confessed: “I’ll speak, I’ll speak! A diary is hidden under a sofa in the main hall, the clues are inside it.”
“Why would you say that so quickly?” The old man bowed his head and paused, hating iron for not becoming steel. 5
“We have to say it at some point! We didn’t see any clues just for the two of us.” The middle-aged man was righteous and confident. “I can hide on the first day of the first year, but not the fifteenth. 6 Yesterday I went over the clues and took the initiative to tell Sir. I don’t need to be beaten today. I haven’t blamed you for your bad ideas!”
