Muhammad's eyes narrowed as he saw the expression on the face of the sergeant guarding the checkpoint. He knew what this guy was up to. The small officials who guarded the intersections were all making a fortune, but Muhammad was just a man who cleaned latrines; where would he have money to give this guy?
"Oh, okay, the latrine at the headquarters is already full. I talked to the quartermaster yesterday and agreed to clean it out. Since there's a curfew these days, I won't go," Muhammad said. "The crops in the fields should be ripe these days, so I'm going back to harvest them."
The latrine at the headquarters? The sergeant knew that there was indeed a latrine at the headquarters that could serve dozens of people. Except for a few high-ranking officials who used a high-end latrine, even the quartermaster used that stinky latrine. If he knew that it was full because he had blocked the entrance...
Thinking of this, the sergeant said, "Since you're going to the headquarters, go ahead. Come, move the barrier."
Driving the donkey cart, Muhammad narrowed his eyes and continued into Jalalabad.
After passing this checkpoint, they entered Jalalabad, a large city in Afghanistan. Various ancient buildings could be seen, along with the pointed roofs of mosques and the hurried pedestrians on the streets.
A group of government soldiers quickly walked by. When they saw the donkey cart, they instinctively quickened their pace.
Although the Soviets occupied the city, they had to go out to clear out the guerrillas, so the security in the rear was mainly handled by the Afghan government army. Only a few Soviets could be seen on the streets.
Two days ago, Muhammad received a message from James. The CIA agent stationed in a bar in Jalalabad had discovered the two Soviet test pilots. These two men loved to drink.
Yesterday, the two test pilots came to the bar again, which could be considered a pattern. Today, they might come again.
Thus, Muhammad decided to take out these two test pilots in the bar! And he would do it in the most violent way!
Muhammad drove the donkey cart into the alleys of Jalalabad, slowly wandering and waiting for the signal.
Several Afghans in long robes walked past Muhammad's donkey cart, making a gesture to him. Muhammad responded with a secret gesture.
Everything was normal, and everything was ready!
A few hundred meters away was the bar. Muhammad continued to drive the donkey cart leisurely. Suddenly, there was a crack, and the cart's axle broke in the middle, the front end rising high.
The donkey was startled and snorted a couple of times.
Muhammad jumped off the cart, untied the donkey, and tied it to a tree in the shade. He looked at the broken axle under the cart, shook his head helplessly, and crawled under it.
People around kept glancing at him, covering their noses and quickly leaving due to the smell.
Under the cart, Muhammad kept repairing, but it seemed to have no effect.
"Screech." A Soviet-style off-road vehicle stopped at the bar on the street corner. Two Soviets got out and swaggered inside.
Muhammad held his breath; the people he was waiting for had arrived!
Fyodor and Solinovich jumped out of the car and walked into the bar skillfully. They had already grown fond of this place over the past two days.
Especially Solinovich, who was convinced that the dancing girl had been flirting with him. Yesterday, when the girl took off her last piece of clothing, she threw it towards him. If not for a private soldier who snatched it, the underwear would have been his. Thinking of this, Solinovich felt excited, and a long-lost feeling returned.
"Solinovich, that woman seems to like you," Fyodor said suddenly as they approached the door.
"I'm here to drink," Solinovich said, walking inside, though his eyes glanced towards the direction of the striptease.
"Ha ha," Fyodor laughed. "Solinovich, if I were you, I wouldn't drink. I'd go straight to the back to find that woman."
The woman always entered from the back of the bar. Fyodor had observed that there were some special rooms in the back, and his sensitive ears could almost hear the moans of women inside.
"Two vodkas," Fyodor said to the bartender.
"One is enough," Solinovich said. "I'll be right back."
Watching Solinovich walk into the back of the bar, Fyodor smiled. The guy had already had his mind set but wouldn't admit it.
The back of the bar was divided into several compartments. Solinovich listened to the cries coming from inside, feeling a burning desire. Where was that dancing girl?
"Hey, girl, stop!" At that moment, a door of a compartment opened, and a lazy woman came out, slowly walking back.
Just by her back, Solinovich knew it was the dancing girl. He immediately called out.
The girl turned around, giving Solinovich a familiar flirtatious look. "Go inside and wait for me. Three hundred rubles per time. I'll go to the bathroom first."
The girl spoke directly and without any shyness. Solinovich blushed; it was the first time in his life he was paying for a woman, and he was willing to be ripped off. Three hundred rubles per time! It was an exorbitant price.
The girl continued to walk outside, where there was a back door.
Solinovich originally wanted to wait in the compartment, but a unique psychological drive made him follow her out.
At the back door, Solinovich pulled hard, but it wouldn't open! The door was locked from the outside.
What's going on? Do you need to lock the door to go to the bathroom? Solinovich thought, feeling depressed, and walked back. After a few steps, he suddenly smelled something. Something was wrong!
There was no bathroom behind; the girl was clearly dressed neatly and was about to leave!
Something's wrong, definitely wrong!
Solinovich took a few steps back and ran over, slamming his side into the door. Bang! A loud collision, and he felt his bones ache. The wooden door was so sturdy!
"Bang!" He couldn't hold it anymore and pulled out his gun, firing at the lock.
"Clang." The door opened, and outside was indeed an empty street. The girl had already run away.
Damn, she dared to trick me!
"What's going on?" The sound of Solinovich's gun alarmed many people, who ran over with their guns.
"Bang, bang." At that moment, a special sound came from not far away.
Smelling the air, Solinovich realized: "Rockets!"
On the street, the donkey cart.
At this moment, the large wooden barrel on the donkey cart, which was used to carry feces, had its front cover fall off, revealing a conical object with holes. Muhammad had been busy under the broken axle, not repairing it but stabilizing the cart and continuously aiming. At such a close distance, he couldn't miss.
When he received the signal, Muhammad crawled out from under the cart and quickly pressed a button on the bottom of the cart.
The rockets in the launcher were fired electrically. Now, with the electric current, a 57mm rocket flew out of the launcher.
The thick smoke from the tail completely covered the donkey cart. In the black smoke, the rocket, trailing a flame, flew out of the launcher and towards the opposite bar.
Then, another one flew out.
This was the UV-32-57 32-tube 57mm rocket launcher from the Mi-24 helicopter, a ground-attack weapon. When it continuously fired, it would turn the opposite side into a wasteland.
To prevent collateral damage, only ten rockets were loaded. As each rocket flew out of the launcher, Muhammad, who had moved to the side, watched the opposite bar.
"Boom!" The rocket accurately hit the bar, collapsing the roof and causing a chorus of screams inside.
"Boom!" The second rocket hit, and the entire building collapsed. Soviet soldiers kept pouring out of the rubble.
"Rat-tat-tat, rat-tat-tat." The Afghan guerrillas hiding around immediately opened fire, and the people who had just escaped were mowed down.
"Boom!" The third rocket landed right among them, turning the wounded Soviet soldiers into pieces of flesh in the explosion.
"Soviet devils who slaughter innocent villagers, this is your price!" Muhammad shouted loudly, his voice carrying far.
"Retreat!" When all ten rockets had landed, the bar was completely in ruins, and a large pit had appeared underground. There would be no survivors, not even a complete body, as they were all shattered.
Following the original plan, they quickly retreated into the alleys, following the winding paths to the edge of the city, and then escaped through a tunnel.
If not for carrying the rocket launcher, Muhammad wouldn't have needed to pretend to be a latrine cleaner. He could have just set up an ambush at the bar entrance and sniped.
But by doing this, Muhammad not only wanted to take out the two murderers of the villagers but also to send a warning to the Soviets: if you attack innocent villagers, no matter the cost, we will take you out!
Suddenly, Muhammad stopped, leveled his gun, and fired into a side alley.
